Main Line Family Practice PC

I have been visiting Dr. Growney at Main Line Family practice since last 3 – 4 years and all the visits I have is very pleasant and hospitable.
Doctor is very patient, knowledgable and knows all the history and the possible remedies/​treatments for my problems. He is very please and approachable. I was able to discuss all my issues with him without hesitation.
Front office was also good enough and they were pleasant to deal with earlier.
But recently I started to notice the front office/​reception is having issues. I have noticed a billing error during my last visit which i requested to correct and they did after blaming the new systems.
I had another incident recently. They charged me for the appointments which I did not request/don’t remember requesting for. And they refused to say if there were any reminders saying some strange problems with their systems. And I need to pay up for issues with their systems. And the answers were so rude that you can’t even discuss the issue with them any more. I might end up paying the no-​show fee. But not sure if I will go back to the same doctor although he is awesome, just because of front office experience.

I recently moved to the Main Line area and in need of a doctor I turned to Unilocal.After reading the only review I thought I would give her a try. I loved her and her staff!
When I first walked in I was greeted by her receptionist who gave me a couple laughs and handed me some paperwork to fill out. After 15 minutes of completing half the paperwork one of the nurses came out and offered to help me with it and took me back in to one of the rooms to enter it in to a computer. She then welcomed me to the area and we talked about my medical history.
When Dr. Hargrove game in she was completely wonderful! She was welcoming and really took her time with everything. I could tell that she really cared about my well being and health. She’s very knowledgeable and precise. I liked how she wasn’t concerned about taking too many tests, just so she could cover all the bases. Also, she didn’t undermine my conditions even if there wasn’t much evidence on the first test. She looks into the issue until she finds something to fix it.
Another plus is that she does pap smears in her office!
Over all, she’s made my transition to the Main Line easier because I really loved my doctor in Chicago who I had been with for the past 11 years. I’m looking forward to having Dr. Hargrove as my new doctor.
UPDATE!:
While I still feel that Dr. Hargrove is a wonderful and knowledgeable doctor, her receptionist is very rude. I find myself fearing to ask questions about appointments or even making them because of her invasive questions. I don’t think the questions would bother me so much if she was at least a nurse.
Lately, I’ve been trying to figure out if I would rather stay with a doctor that I am very comfortable with and feel like I’m in good hands or if I should go find a new doctor with a less invasive and more polite receptionist.
I will restate this… Dr. Hargrove is a perfect doctor, but honestly her receptionist is hurting her practice. This is why I reduced the review from 5 stars to 4.

Okay, first review, and I don’t even live in Philly anymore. But now in Houston, I’m feeling the loss.
I’d say there are two categories of doctorliness which make this a 5-​star review. First, the impersonal stuff. Modern office, computerized charting, accurate scheduling (I was never kept waiting), the ability to make an appointment at short notice to get something looked at, convenient location. Can’t think of anything that’s lacking. She shares her office with another doctor who I haven’t met.
The second category is the personal aspect. When I showed up the first time as a new patient, she spent a good deal of time with me and I got the feeling she cared about me as a person. Sweet. In all subsequent visits, that never changed. Without going into medical details, she herself called me when the results came in for some minor (and false) tests.
All in all, I can’t imagine a better doctor. Why is it I found a badass doctor and a badass dentist in the one place I didn’t live for any length of time?
