So Grateful for these guys! They came through with the exact part I needed to fix my computer 2 days before I was leaving on a 3 month trip to Costa Rica. I called everywhere else and it was a part that is not typically stocked. Thanks guys!

Disappointed for the last time with these folks. If your product is under Apple warranty, they are great. If not, too bad. I bought an LMP number pad on 2.11.13; it worked intermittently and finally gave up the ghost. When I called about a replacement, their response was «not our problem.» Hell of a way to lose a customer over a $ 44 product, but they managed to do so. (FYI, it appears LMP does not have a US phone or office, so caveat emptor.)

The support and service at MacResource is great. Right here in town you’ve got Apple experts that can assist you with just about anything.

Took my iMac in there last Monday. The work ticket allows for a five day work period, and the tech himself told me they would have it ready the following Monday.
They have a tool on their website where you can type in your repair order # and follow at what step your machine is at in the process. The entire week mine said nothing. Finally, I checked it Fri, and it said it was waiting to be tested. So, they didn’t even touch my machine for a week. I called late Friday, and they said it was almost done being tested. I re-​iterated I was told my machine would be ready Monday, and they agreed.
Called Monday, the part did not arrive as early as they thought, so it would be Tuesday afternoon. Called Tuesday afternoon, said they were still working on it, but they would try to, and most likely have it done right before closing time. Got a call 10 min before they close, VM from the tech said the graphics card and processor also had to be changed out, but it would be ready first thing Weds, (today) at 11am. I didn’t get over there until about 2pm to pick up my computer, and the girl at the front came back after a long while telling me my computer was still in pieces in the back and the tech working on it was at lunch.
Spoke with the manager, who while tried to be helpful was in way over his head, he seemed terrified to talk to a customer. I told him my situation, which he said he had no idea a machine had been there since last Monday. They would try to get ahold of the guy to find out what is going on.
After all this, I called Apple to complain about them, which in turn called them. An hour and a half after I got off the phone with Apple, probably two hours since I left the store, The Mgr called me and told me they replaced the port with the ethernet attached to it, and it fixed and it is ready. I asked him about the two other parts the tech had told me needs replacement, and he said he didn’t know anything about that, but its working fine.
Edit: 5÷24− The owner of the business has reached out to me (I also posted this review on a local forum), and am waiting for contact from him. Ill give one more star for him at least trying to do what he can.
I show up to pick up the computer and spoke with the tech about the other two parts the told me about the night before, which then he went into some tech ramble about it being a misunderstanding, and now suddenly, they didn’t need to be replaced. Now, I am uncertain if my computer even has all the repairs it needs. (BTW, this is a new iMac I purchased in Oct 2011)
The manager had ran off in the back to hide from me, but once we got him back I asked for the owner’s name and phone number. He told me he could call the owner and try to figure out where he is. I told him to just give the owner my contact info and have him call me. Took my computer and left.
As I am getting into my car, (parking in the back) the mgr and an older guy walk out the back door and the mgr is telling him about something (I presume about me), before I can start the car, the mgr waves over for me to get out of the car. I stand over by my car for about another 4 – 5 minutes while they talk to each other, when finally the owner shouts from the other side of the parking lot «I know you probably want to talk to me, but I don’t have time, so I’ll arrange for you to get some kind of store credit or something.» I told him that was not the point of why I wanted to talk to him, and for him to call me when he was not so «busy».
Now, I do not know if my computer is even fixed properly, or if they just rushed it out the door bc I got Apple on their case. The fact that the Owner does not care (or does not seem to) about the complete lack of service his business has, or the lack of service skills some of his employees have.
It sucks, because I was hoping to establish a relationship with a local Apple place, but it looks like I will be headed to The Woodlands or the online store for my further Apple needs

I had a bad experience where I had a problem and was basically told that I was dumb and it was a miracle if the way it had happened actually happened. They couldn’t think critically about my problem and just had the same broken record this-is-what-happened-that’s-what-the-book-says answer. It was really just one man who was rude, but I get the feeling he talks to everyone like that, since he had no qualms about treating me like that. Go to a real Apple store where they experience more problems and can understand what they’re doing better than a satellite Apple Certified store — and where they have better customer service skills.

Gotta agree with ed’s review of MacResource. I’ve experienced the same type of nice service. In fact I think this may be family owned and operated. This is where I got my first iPod, great little machine and it came sealed with a full warranty for a very reasonable price comparison than anywhere online at the time. Plus I was able to pick it up on a whim and play with it that very night, instead of having to wait for shipping from somewhere else.
BTW, I know at the time they told me that they offered student discounts. Yet on items that students can use, and that’s didn’t include an iPod… :)

Mac Resource is a great little business! It combines a small, old-​fashioned knows-​your-​name family store with an Apple Store. They’ve got Apple-​Certified technicians, and enthusiastic staff. I have had great service every time I come in, whether I need accessories, advice, or the warranty replacement of my hard drive in one day. Its no secret that Apple is about end-​user experience, and Mac Resource more than lives up to this standard. And BCS has noticed, as evidenced by six Bryan Rotary Club/​Newman 10 Performance Awards, and four Aggie 100 Awards.
