Tacos are amazing. Only downside is they may show up around 11 or 12. Changes daily.

We stopped in to try the tacos tonight. My wife and daughter got tacos,(barbacoa and pastor). I ordered a torta with puerco con salsa roja(basically puerco asado in the Southwest). The chef wasn’t sure why I was ordering it on a torta but, I assured her that was what I wanted, I wasn’t disappointed! The salsas were fantastic also. Prices include tax, Tipping in a plastic jar is accepted. They seem to do mostly to go orders– seating for three was available when we arrived– I think they can arrange for a few more seats if necessary. Try the enchiladas potosinas(or rioverdenses, depending on how specific you want to nail down their origin) for an authentic taste of rustic Central Mexican street fare. These remind me of the ones served in my wife’s home community of Morillos, San Luis Potosi(Mexico, of course!) at festivities and family gatherings alike. They are not your typical Tex-Mex rolled tortilla filled with meat or cheese. They are hand made tortillas with blended dried red chile sauce added to the masa so they turn orange, hence the name(tortillas) enchiladas or chile spiced tortillas. The tortillas are briefly fried in oil but, are removed while still pliable. They are then served with a smear of frijoles refritos, potato, cabbage and queso fresco and of course plenty of lime and salsa! iBuen provecho!

Saludos to Dos Hermanos! Joining the scene of nearly 40 food trucks I have managed to locate in Aggieland, Dos Hermanos Taqueria is well worth taking a close look at. Opened just three weeks ago according the friendly perhaps 8 – 10 year old here whom spoke excellent English translating for the two chef ladies. Prominent display of Brazos Health Dept permit, food handlers permits, clean new actually beautifully painted blue new truck. Not hard to find, it’s right across the street from farm patch every day except Sunday from 11 am for lunch till late like 9 or 11 or something. This truck should be invited to compete at the food truck challenges like vs. Chef Tai, Big Daddy Z’s, Lew’s BBQ, etc. As Good Bull Hunting recently published, I am the most qualified person in Aggieland to rate tacos.(I will get to those.) But see, this isn’t just a «taco» truck this one is focused, according to their menu on plates. It has the largest selection of Mexican plates I have ever seen at any food truck in Aggieland. Full color photos posted all over the front of this clean machine. Being somewhat shocked to find such a new treasure(it is!) I had already eaten but did pick up two tacos. Fluffy obviously made right there corn tortillas were thicker than normal so instead of needing two they were singles and you what? I hate to have to say this but it’s true. The tortillas here we right up there on the scale of Mad Taco. Someone had to find this and report it, and here it is. I ordered street style with just onions and cilantro(ordered in Spanish), one beef fajita and one pastor. Oh the meats here are just succulent. You can not get flavor like this without an extended marinade and I am almost sure that’s what they are doing. Oddly enough both tacos were built on a bed of grilled onions, which i didn’t ask for(and the fresh ones I did ask for). Now, that’s not a bad thing. See, when I placed the order they started to do fresh prep. I could see it through the window. Onions and cilantro were fresh chopped from what looked like ice water. Really NICE touch in custom made fresh. The addition of the grilled white onions I took it as if them showing me «This is how we do it» and that’s great. A+ Both the green and red sauces were just stupidly bad ass and I saved what I didn’t use as these are some of the best sauces in Bryan /College Station. I know these. These are about 4 other places that have them…(And Good Bull Hunting has no clue where they are) LOL! They are doing something unique here with pepper. Peppers and pepper I mean. They are using a rarely found or used green type and a relative of black. The flavors are tied to match and I found the dust on the tortillas. Epic unique and lovely. If you don’t already know, I have personally tasted every taco in Aggieland. Like all. Find one I have not reviewed. Dos Hermanos has jumped right in the face of the true culinary talent by Mexicans in Aggieland. — The Taco Monster
