History

Established in 1940.

Custom Cleaners was established in 1940 as K&R Cleaners by the Kerr and Rau families as a dry cleaning and shirt laundry facility located in 2 store fronts on South Lynn Street in Bryan, Ohio. In 1975, Michael Boesch purchased the company from Kerr and Rau. and business name was changed to K&R Custom Cleaners. K&R eventually was dropped and the name Custom Cleaners is still used today. In 1980, the Bryan Hospital approached Mr. Boesch about doing the laundry for the hospital. Mr. Boesch relocated the operations to the former Northwestern Electric building on the West Side of Bryan. They also began renting walk-​off mats, dust mops and kitchen items for restaurants. In March of 1997, Mr. Boesch sold the business to George Gardner. Mr. Gardner sold the business to Josh and Mike «Mac» McCann in November of 2015.

Josh McCann, along with his father, Mike «Mac» McCann purchased Custom Cleaners in November 2015. Mac has been the plant manager of Custom Cleaners for 25 years. Both had dreams of owning a small business and are excited to serve the communities in Williams County, OH.
