My husband and I ate here while staying at a B&B in Bryan. We had been traveling for 4 days and this was our last dinner out. It was by far the meal we had. Both of us are originally from NY and we know good pasta. Both of our dishes were amazing! Love their italian bread. If you like fresh marinara sauce, ask for some to dip the bread in, yummy! The cannoli for dessert was perfect. We highly recommend eating here!

Came on a First Friday, didn’t want to wait. Very popular place! Go when it’s not First Friday. Went in on a Monday night, no wait but still cute & lively. Ordered calamari. Oil must have been hot when they dropped them in, because they were dark, hard, and super chewy, instead of light & flakey. I order calamari a lot and expected better. No lemon with it either, so we asked for some, no biggie. Will try it again to see if it was just a one time fluke. I got the tortelloni alla Capri(their signature dish) and it was DELISH! Except the advertised crab is obviously imitation crab. My boyfriend got the Baked Penne, which was yummy too. He liked his better, I liked mine better.

Scrumptious food! This cute little restaurant has 5 star fare. The menu isn’t lengthy, but I can never decide between the many delicious options! Last Thursday we were able to add a $ 15 bottle of wine to our meal, which was a great bargain. I recommend everything so far, and enjoy the bread and olive oil served before the meal. The canoli did not disappoint for dessert!

Food this good with portions this generous would cost a fortune somewhere else. My boyfriend and I ordered a ton of food, so here’s a rundown. The calamari was crispy and flavorful. The caesar salad was coated in a lemon-based dressing that was surprising but delicious. The garlic bread is not something I would order again; it was yummy but didn’t actually taste like garlic. The chicken parm was fried to perfection in a flour-coating, and the gouda creamy marinara is my all-time favorite sauce. The cheesecake was frozen in the center, so I was a bit disappointed about that, but the tiramisu tasted like it was from a sophisticated, up-scale bakery. I can’t wait to go back!

I came here for a lunch and found this place mediocre. They have quite a few lunch specials around $ 7 – 10. So, while it can get pricy here for dinner, a quick lunch isn’t too bad. Also, if you check in on Unilocal, they do give you a free toasted ravioli appetizer. So, the toasted ravioli wasn’t quite what I was expecting. Considering I used to live in St. Louis, I really was hoping for a more traditional midwestern dish. Yes, it wasn’t quite traditional, but it wasn’t bad. I enjoyed the Southern take on this classic. It’s got a bit more heavy seasoning and instead of marinara sauce, they serve it with a ranch cream based one. While the entrees are pretty average, I do have to highly recommend the Kahlua chocolate torte. That dessert is definitely worth just a special trip up here. It’s like heaven on a plate. Well, considering it has espresso, chocolate, and Kahlua, how can it be bad? All in all, decent find and I will be back here soon.

We had a lovely meal — good service — fresh ingredients — meat nicely done, not overdone — amazing dessert.

We went on 2-2-2016 for our three year anniversary. It was the first time we have been there and it was easy to find. It was a cute little place. We were greeted right away and seated. Few minutes later they got our drink order and everyone there seemed very nice. My wife got chicken parmesan and I got the tortelloni alla capri. Both were amazing. It was an amazing dinner for the two of us and we recommend it to everyone. Thank you for the great Anniv. dinner.

Overrated. The pasta was flavorless and they were out of the poblano sauce for the ravioli(didn’t tell me until a few minutes after bringing them out)

Our server took more than fifteen minutes to greet us. None of the other servers took notice and would look away when we tried to get their attention. This is a very small restaurant, they were not busy, and there was no excuse for such lack of awareness from the entire wait staff. As a server myself, I was appalled that she did not have her manager talk to us or offer to comp our appetizer. Owning up to a mistake that big requires more than a «sorry.» The food was not good enough to justify the poor service. I will not be going back as I do not wish to have a repeat of the negative experience.

Went here with my mom for my birthday. Atmosphere was definitely more date friendly than dinner with mom friendly, mood lighting with individual lights at each table. Semi-loud though from kitchen, music and noises carrying. Bread was homemade and fresh out of the oven. Delicious. The Olive Oil/balsamic vinegar dip on the table was lacking flavor and spices, low quality olive oil. Food was good, she had the lobster pasta and I had the crab raviolis, flavor was fresh and complex. Her pasta was great complex with spicey and creaminess. Overall good experience would probably take a date there

So delicious! I’ve eaten lunch and dinner here with friends, and even held and event — always good food, always good service, always a good time!

Not great, not made from scratch. I can only surmise that a majority of the items on the menu are frozen. I tasted the seafood ravioli, and it tastes identical to the Bertoli that you get in the supermarket… and that costs 4 bucks and tastes horrible. Also, there was a watery white sauce thrown on top that was tasteless. Honestly, I do not know who the chef is or where the recipes came from. I can cook better than this without much effort. However, I am trained in cooking, and I doubt anybody in that kitchen is trained. No trained chef would allow food like this to leave the kitchen. Also, if you look at the bread they give you, you will notice it is not even baked long enough. It is white as a piece of paper. Does that sound like Italian bread to you? The hostess was definitely not in the running for Ms. Congeniality. Seriously… would a smile kill you? Would saying more than«How many? Ok… sit here» be a possibility for this girl? If you hate your job then just quit… I am looking for a decent Italian restaurant in the BCS area and have yet to find anything.

The best! This was my wife and my favorite spot while in college, and we still take long trips from Houston for the sole reason of going here for dinner. From the pre-meal bread through the desert, everything is wonderful. Their lobster and penne pasta dish is on the short list of my favorite dishes of all time. If I’m ever wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to death, this would be one of the first requests on my final meal wish list. The ambience is great as is the service. Even with the large sample size, we have never had a bad expeirence. We’re even driving in from Houston next weekend to celebrate our first wedding anniversary here because we could not think of a better place. Pros: everything Cons: would probably die young if ate here as much as I would like.

I graduated from A&M in 2011 and during my 4 years in College Station, this was by far my favorite restaurant. I got so obsessed with it that I started ordering takeout from it every Friday my senior year. The lasagna is the best lasagna I have ever had in my life. I am still looking for a replica of that dish somewhere but nothing has ever tasted the same. I think it was ths sweetness of the sauce in combination with the heavy amount of ricotta. There were a few other items on the menu that I would occasionally order, but the lasagna was my favorite! Another favorite of mine was the bread and oil that they served before the meal. The bread is crunchy and the oil is laced with balsamic vinegar. The balsamic adds a nice flare to the what-would-be normal olive oil. Finally I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s tucked away in a trendy area of downtown Bryan and the building itself is unique. It is filled with old world wall paper, textured ceilings and unique art work. My memories of college will always include Café Capri! I’m pretty sure I went on every first date there.

Quiet modern ambiance with tasteful accoutrements. Genuine attentive service, creative delightful menu including the history of the young owner with a vision, and then there was the more than satisfyingly delicious food! Definitely a repeat restaurant I will be recommending as well.

Mehhhhh. Had better. Not trying to say that the place isn’t good… just saying it isn’t great. I’m not sure if anyone is actually cooking from scratch here. Can’t tell from the dish I ate. I asked for a blackened chicken breast to go with my Alfredo. … not. Received strips of what looked like thawed store bought crap. No love added. Mehhhhh. Try Amico Nave. The best I’ve had in B/CS.

The atmosphere is great and the building is beautiful however the staff was noticeably noisy during our Monday night dinner. Onto the meal. The meal was great I had the Cajun tortellini and was very impressed. The sauce in the tortellini was rich and creamy and the sausage was delicious. The prices did seem a little absurd the tortellini was 13 dollars and the portion was small in my opinion. I would recommend dining here on rare or special occasions, but it isn’t a place I would come to regularly. It seems a strange thing to say but it is a fantastic place to go to one time. Just to try. Food was four stars. Service kept it at four stars. Noise dropped it half a star. Price dropped it another half star. 3 stars

I am sad to say I will not be returning here. I went here after reading other Unilocal reviews and felt excited for some good Italian food away from home. Unfortantlg I am unsure what I would call this but I am positive it isn’t Italian good. First, let me start with the positives– the building location is easy to find and it has decent curb appeal. The service was okay, our waitress had us repeat our order 4 different times but I’m assuming she just had a long day– she was very nice but it was a bit teadious on the fourth pass having to order again. The bad– the food. Please see the picture, believe it or not, I ordered chicken parm. When I received it I asked our waitress what it was, she confirmed that it was chicken Pam. The chicken-it was fried rather than baked and it was beyond flavorless, the sause was the same consistency as water(talk about watering your sause down and cutting corners), and the noodles were gnocchi noodles rather than spagatti. Yes you read that correct and it was as bad as it sounds. Simply put– this is not Italian food. They cut corners. This is very bad. Do not eat here, not worth any amount of money.

This is still my go-to Italian kitchen in downtown Bryan. I love the atmosphere, the care in the food, and the excellent service. It has an amazing wine list, I highly recommend for a date night or treat. Be sure to save room for desert!

Wife and I had dinner here a few nights ago as one of the last remaining«popular» places in Bryan we had not eaten at together yet. It was a quite unusual experience. We found a parking place only to encounter a crowd of people outside and jam packed in the tiny waiting area inside. Flashbacks of why I don’t go here. By some odd miracle we were seated in seconds. I’ll never understand that. I felt very awkward to skip all the other people. It was difficult to be seated so close to all of them when that happened. The seat backs are too high where you can’t see anything but the table and out the side. Didn’t care for that. The ’80’s dance music was cool with bass you could feel but it was a tad too loud this making all of the people at the bar in turn more loud and it wasn’t comfortable. The bread that was served was oddly exactly like Johnny Carinos. Apparently I ordered the correct thing. The Cajun Tortellini. Was very impressed with it, did immediately determine that the sausage is from Ruffino, local company. Am 100% sure as we use it to make pizza at home when we have out of town and out of country guests. So yes it was impressive. But now that I have tried it, I’m wondering if anything else they have compares. Wife had the«signature» dish«Tortellini alla Capri» and it was quite bland. It seemed to have the same base cream sauce as the cajun yet without the seasoning. If any restaurant can top our home cooking it will get 5 stars off the bat unless something is very wrong otherwise. I’ll start with 3.5 stars for my dish — 2.5 stars for failing to honor their coupon. I had a coupon for a free appetizer with purchase of(2) entrees. They refused it because it was on my smart phone. Was told that the owner«required me to print it out». How the heck are you supposed to print out a coupon from a smart phone unless you bring a printer? Now at 1 star. — 1 star for being overpriced. The dish I ate at $ 12 for the portion should have been about 7 – 8. Now at 0 stars. +2 stars for outstanding service by Buck. He was one of the better servers we have ever encountered in any restaurant in Bryan and most certainly salvaged this rating to bring it back up to 2 stars. Once again a confirmation that Bryan /College Station do not have any authentic Italian restaurants.
