Danny’s Hotdogs

I grew up going to Danny’s on the Mall. I’ve since traveled the world and I can safely say: Danny’s has the best hot dogs AND hamburgers in the world. If you haven’t sat on the Mall and eaten a Danny’s hot dog you haven’t really experienced Brunswick, Maine. This place is a must!

Grew up coming to Danny’s and I must say they are still as delicious as I remember. I’ve lived all over the country and can tell you this is my ultimate favorite place for a hot dog. Not sure if they have always had hamburgers cause all I know were the hot dogs. Danny still works there and the food is amazing. You can’t beat a soda, hotdog, and chips. Simple but always on the list of places to eat when I come to town. The line is always worth it!

They have great hot dogs and good hamburgers. Lots of toppings for the dogs but spicy mustard and slaw is my choice. An indication on the popularity of dannys is the line down the block past all the other vendors. Though the line may be long it moves fast. The setup is very efficient and these guys and gal have it down. Steamed natural casing hot dogs that crunch a bit when you bite into them.
So why the rating? They do not support the town or activities promoted by town organizations. For me, that is a big deal. I cannot support those who do not pay it back or are rude to local organizations. There is a wrap stand adjacent to dannys that is supportive. That’s where I go now.

This place has great dogs at a cheap price. The chili is awesome too.

More for the experience than for the taste in my humble opinion. It’s a place to get a hot dog because you can park your butt on the Green Mall, relax, and people watch (best part of that place). I got myself a sauerkraut hot dog during a bike ride and I would rate it ok. The dog and kraut was average and bun was kinda soggy, I am not opposed to them but I don’t think I would go out of my way to have another one.

Simple food done perfectly… hot dogs, especially chili dogs are awesome, but the real secret is their cheeseburgers which are fantastic!!!
