We visit often. Great mexican food. Margaritas have plenty of alcohol and taste great.

We love El Toro’s. Victor treats my daughter very special. She always asks to sit in his section and is sad when he is not there. He knows us so well he brings our drinks and cheese with out coming to us first. The food is always fabulous. Have had many different thing on the menu. Between my husband and I we have had at least 20 different items. Taco Tuesday is always super busy so if you are in a hurry not a night to go. All the staff id super sweet.

I love this place. I am vegan and they will change anything on the menu to cater to my needs. The food is amazing and the people are friendly. It is very clean as well.

Went on a Friday night($ 9.99 fajitas!) with the family and was pleasantly surprised. Waitress was exceptional and on point(left a big tip). If you like spicy salsa, order the green habanero salsa($.59 and worth it). Had the burrito loco and had to fight everyone off of it. My oldest, whose 4 and not much of a carnivore, ate up the steak from my burrito indiscriminately. We shared the nachos supremos and was very tasty. Our server made a suggestion for the wife about which chimichanga to get(fajita) and she wasn’t disappointed. Will definitely become regulars! Only gave four stars because the chips didn’t match the quality of everything else.

Terrible restaurant terrible food and service. I hate to admit I have been a few times ONLY because I can walk there from my house. The food is always disapointing and the service bad. Last time I was there I walked out because I sat for over 5 minutes in an empty restaurant and no one waited on me. I will never go back again. Cant believe it is still in business. I will give it one star because Unilocal will not allow me to give it zero.

NOTAUTHENTIC, needed to ask for hot sauce, non on any table? Upon arrival we were greeted with no greeting from the 3 girls behind counter, then sat? by one walking girl who walked to a the table putting menus down walking away, we were half way to the table wail she was back at podium texting, and never asked«is this Okay». Then the Menus were Dirty, like salsa and chips in menu? Nasty, nasty. Food was Bland, why the hot sauce was needed, have you ever had good Mexican restaurant that didn’t have hot sauce on the table? You? Wish we would have cooked and stayed home, much, much much better food! If you are looking for an over prices, bland, dirty? Mexican Diner. This is the spot, enjoy missing this one.

The typical«fried/smothered/covered» mexican spot. I noticed they recently changed their name to «THE Toro»…Not sure what this is about. Interested in testing this spot out??? Try lunch because their speciasl are often under $^ and their salsa is awesome!

This is our favorite mexican restaurant! After being big El Rodeo and El Meson fans for years, we have since found our new favorite that trumps those! We have dined here many times and love it! Service is always good, we do typically have to wait a few mintues to be seated since no one is always up front. Our food is always delicious and the salsa is wonderful! The fried ice cream is so good! Sundays they offer $ 1.99 margaritas that are amazing! Make sure you skip the over hyped bigger named mexican resataurants in the area and try El Toro!

This place is great. They recently updated the menu and added a lot of new items(the menus on coupons 4 indy and urbanspoon are outdated). The food is delicious and isn’t identical to every other Mexican joint in the Indy area. It has a very authentic feel. The margaritas are strong and the salsa is fresh and delicious. Warning, the camarones el diablo is SPICY

I bought a Groupon for this place. My wife and I went for lunch to try it out hoping it was better than our low expectations. It was not. The service was friendly but very slow. The salsa and chips were fine. I ordered the chicken jalapeño quesadilla. Grease dripped out and formed a puddle. Cheese was the main ingredient. It was difficult to finish and I didn’t. My wife ordered the beef tacos«Carne Asada». Typical bad taco with small bits of overcooked beef, shredded iceburg tomato. blah. The rice was terrible. The beans were ok meaning they managed not to screw them up. At checkout our bill did not add to the $ 20.00 the Groupon required so I was charged $ 18.65. I think I paid $ 10.00 for the $ 20.00 Groupon that they did not honor so I’m out almost $ 30.00 for this very unsatisfactory lunch. Stay away amigos. Oh, I gave the Groupon away to a salesperson who worked next door at a furniture shop. He did not seemed thrilled. He has probably eaten there before.

My husband bought a Groupon for El Toro in Brownsburg, IN. We went for lunch on aSaturday and had a bad experience. Husband ordered the jalapeño quesadilla with a side of pico de gallo. It was so greasy that at one point in the meal I said to him, «You know it looks as if you are wearing lip gloss.» I ordered the tacos de carne asada which is a favorite — at least when I have gotten it at other Mexican restaurants such as Puerto Vallarta located on LaFayette Road and 56th or Carniceria Guanajuato, the Mexican restaurant inside the grocery on Moller Road. I was used to big flavor, big smokey flavor at that, and the Tacos de carne asada HERE were flavorless. It was beef piled with iceburg lettuce and chopped tomato… I believe tratitionally it should have simply had raw chopped onion and fresh cilantro. Regardless, the dish was unappealing, flavorless… boring, and I did not bother to eat but 1(I was hungry). The salsa we were served tasted as if the tomatos were from a can, then pureed and then tossed in with some onion and what-not. Time to pay… we waited, and waited, and waited for the check. F inally I got the servers attention from across the room and told her we were ready for a check. She did not deliver but instead continued to deal with a larger party across the room. Finally she looked up at us and said, across the room, «Do you guys want to just meet me up there?» So we did… we gave her the Groupon as she punched in what we ordered in the register. Then she tells us that we can’t use the Groupon because the total of our order did not equal 20 dollars… it was $ 18 and some change. Yes, we told her we had the Groupon when we sat down. She apologized at the registar about not telling us to order more. Whatever. At that point we just wanted out of there. We thought maybe she would honor the Groupon anyway but no,. We paid the bill(and yes we left her a tip because that is what you do, right?) and left. My husband tried to leave the Goupon with her on the counter but I grabbed it and gave it away to the fella who worked in the furniture store next door. We will NOT be returning. Horrible food, bad service. So we spent 10 bucks on the Groupon, 5 bucks on tip and close to 20 for the horrible food for a grand total of close to 35 bucks. NEVERAGAIN.

Good food. Fair service. We had three enchilada dinners with special requests. One with no cheese, One with no cheese sauce, One with Cheese sauce only. Only the no cheese order came to the table as requested. The order with no cheese sauce normally comes with both cheese sauce and tomatillo sauce. When it arrived at the table there was NO sauce at all. They said they would bring out some tomatillo sauce. It was nearly 5 minutes before it arrived. My daughter ordered the enchilada dinner of cheese enchiladas with cheese sauce. She received a single cheese enchilada with regular enchilada sauce — not the full meal. They took it back and brought out her replacement dinner(at no charge) as the rest of us were finishing our dinners. The order mixups were blamed on the combination of a new server and new computer system for order entry. I enjoyed my food(once I got my sauce) and would be willing to give them another try. The food was better than the only other time I visited which was many years ago.

The food isn’t bad, but it’s not good either. This place is so tame, they didn’t even season the chicken fajitas I had or the chimi my wife had. The salsa could use work too — tasted too acidic and the cilantro looked old.

The best mexican in town! The staff is personal, friendly and greets you by name after just a few visits. The food is out of this world delicious and fresh. A must visit.
