As a owner I have 15 years in the Hvac trade. I have completed schooling in 2000 for heating and air conditioning and 4 years of apprenticeship. I have worked in a variety of applications from schools, hospitals, apartments to residential.

I completed trade school in 2000 at Manhattan area Vocational in Manhattan ks after graduating I worked for a large company doing commercial applications where I also completed 4 years of apprenticeship. While working commercial I was lead and had up to 30 guys that I was responsible for. I later on went into the residential side doing service calls new installs and replacement of current systems. In 2012 I moved to colorad from kansas and worked for a couple companies in colorado before deciding that I wanted to quit my job and go out on my own. I provide excellent customer service as always give great pricing and this was my main goal. I want to have better prices and service than the big competitors.

Matt and Rich were extremely knowledgeable and thorough! They discovered an issue with our heating system that many other companies had overlooked. They saved us thousands of dollars and what would have been a huge remodel for an issue that was fixed in 2 hours with precision and efficiency. Matt and Rich were thoughtful, hardworking, fast, honest and friendly. We highly recommend them and will continue to use them for both water and heating in the future. Yesterday, I called Matt around 11 am. He answered right away and as I don’t know anything about furnaces I gave the phone to my better half. Next thing I know, Matt is at our door. He immediately knew what was wrong and fixed it right on the spot, he even had the part with him. He told us that he had actually taken the day off but we were so close, he figured he might as well stop by and check it out. He is ridiculously friendly, professional and quick. He even took an interest in our dog that barks like crazy instead of being annoyed by him. I have another property in South Denver that is currently being rented out and it just had furnance issues as well, cost camparison puts Matt at a much more fair price. Service call was only $ 75 vs. the $ 130 my renters found. My boyfriend and I are both completely impressed with Matt and he has made a lifetime customer with us. I recommend calling him for any of your HVAC needs!

I bought a house in Broomfield and as soon as I moved in the AC broke. I frantically called around based on Unilocal reviews and Matt, the owner, was willing to come over that same day. I ultimately ended up replacing the entire system over the course of a month (my scheduling issues). Matt was always available by phone, He has come over after my work hours, even on a weekend when he had his kids. I can’t say enough good things about the service this company provides. He has been honest, trustworthy and fair in pricing. I recommend Matt and his company without reservation. Plus, my house is finally cool.

On 6⁄18 our air conditioning unit wasn’t working and it was way too hot in the house.
I figured I’d call my neighbor who owns Great Peaks Heating & Air (they just installed a brand new furnace & H20 heater) plus we have annual service contract to service the A/​C to come over– well I couldn’t get an appointment with them until 7÷1÷2015.
Then called Applewood as I’ve used them in the past, the earliest they could get out was 6÷22…
Did a ton of searches and came across Matt. I sent an email inquiring about my problem.
I got an IMMEDIATE email back which stated his service price and the best thing was he could be at the house in 20 MINUTES… Mind you, it was 7:30pm when I sent the email.
So, Matt came by, checked everything to make sure all the systems were in good working order.
The A/​C was really low on freon and now it is working perfectly again.
Thank you Matt for your quick response and making a very miserable situation turn positive.

Brilliant Service!!! Last night our ac stopped working, and of course it happened just as the weather started getting warmer. This morning I called several HVAC companies with no luck, everyone was booked solid for the next few days. However, Matt, the owner of Prime Performance called me back, even though I didn’t leave a message when I called him. And although he was booked for the day, he made time to work me in. Matt was professional and polite, a no nonsense, honest guy. He did the repairs in 15 minutes, and charged what I know to be fair. Additionally, he did a couple of other maintenance items for free.
He’s made a customer for life!

Matt just completed a major overhaul of our existing furnace and hot water system.
Project was not a straight forward replacement of the equipment — we converted from a roof venting system to a direct vent system to eliminate the duct work that was going through the main floor — due to our remodel plans this had to be eliminated.
We spoke to other companies and was not nearly as confident in their ability to achieve the results I was looking for — his experience with the metal/​tin work was one of the most important as we wanted to not only replace the equipment — we wanted the furnace and water heater to be relocated by 90 degrees in the space.
Additionally, pricing for the work was considerably less than others, work was completed in a timely manner and he was absolutely flexible with changes we made after starting the project of which he didn’t nickle and dime us for all the changes.
I have to say Matt was a great find and will be my go to HVAC guy from here on out.

Update: never mind. I spoke with him about the leak continuing and he said he would be out the next day to get information off the units to help obtain new parts under warranty. He never showed, never called. I would have understood if he had called and explained if he couldn’t or didn’t want the work, but I can’t recommend someone that just no shows.
Matt came out the day I called him to check out our a/​c unit. After checking possible causes, he was very honest about the possibility there is a leak in the system (it’s not even 2 years old) and that it might be difficult to trace it. However, he would do all he could to help us with the warranty, if it came to that. We are not the original owners and so we do not know who installed it. Fingers crossed it stays charged, but in the event it doesn’t, I feel confident Matt will do all he can to get us cool and comfortable again. He even has a scale to show his customers how much refrigerant he used so you know what you’re paying for. I would recommend his service to anyone looking for trustworthy, knowledgeable, timely HVAC service!

I first hired Matt to move my AC condenser last summer – the county codes had changed from two years earlier with me purchasing my home. I was installing solar panels and needed the unit moved to pass inspection. Matt worked us in and got the work done in a very short deadline. I’m from the Midwest, just as Matt is, So I appreciate working with individuals who stand by their word and their work. With this business owner, a handshake is as good as a contract. My furnace went out last November – of course, during some of the coldest days we’ve had this winter. I called Matt again, for his services. He answered my questions, first over the phone, helping me troubleshoot before the service call. Not many technicians will do that for you – as I was trying to salvage my existing furnace with repairs. He quickly picked up a new unit and installed it with a very quick response time. The unit he recommended has been economical and efficient – and we’ve stayed warm the rest of this winter. I completely trust this company – I would highly recommend Matt and Prime Performance Mechanical for all your HVAC needs, big or small. My heater broke early in the morning and Matt was at my house by 10:45 that morning to fix it. As luck would have it, right after he left the house a part on the heater burnt out and he turned right back around to take a look. He got the part for us and installed it all before the end of the day. Prime Performance Mechanical will definitely be my one and only call for any maintenance issues I may have. It was the coldest night of the year, at –17° F, my heater blower motor went out on me in the middle of the night. I called a lot of 24⁄7 HVAC companies, but none of them really wanted to come over at 3am when it’s that cold outside. Matt, at first, tried to talk me over the phone on how to fix the problem, but there’s no way to fix a blown motor over the phone.
There was $ 150 trip charge to come out after hours, and another $ 150 surcharge for the distributor to open up a shop in the middle the night on a holiday. The price for the motor was $ 450. Therefore, the total for the job was $ 750. I have no frame of reference on whether this is a good price or not, I just knew that I had to get it done in the middle of the night otherwise my family would freeze to death.
I was a little dismayed that he did not have the correct sleeve adapter to properly mount the motor on the night that I paid him, and that there was a blown fuse that he did not immediately have a replacement for. however, he did come back a couple days later after the holidays and fixed the problems.
I will definitely keep his number handy for any of your future HVAC problems I have.

Our AC broke last summer and I had been putting off getting it fixed because I was afraid of the cost (thought we’d probably have to replace the unit). Today I couldn’t stand it anymore and so I looked on Unilocal to see if I could find someone who was recommended. I called Matt and we talked about the options for a bit, then he said he could just come over and see what the problem was and we could go from there. He was here within an hour and it turned out to be a simple fix and was he was so reasonable with the price. It feels amazing in our house now! He was very nice an courteous, a very pleasant person, I would highly recommend.

I recently called on Matt to look at my Mom’s AC unit. I called him in hope that he could meet me at her house sooner than later. He was able to work me into his schedule at the first opportunity I would have to meet him with just a days notice. He not only was exactly on time but he also alerted me to the fact he was on his way and to expect him at our arranged time and place. I live better than an hour and a half from my mom’s and since I had been stood up before this was very important to me. Matt did not charge extra for the short notice, in fact was less than the other quotes I had been given by those who needed to schedule a week out. Matt discussed with me the options we had as far as repairing or replacing so I could make an educated decision on the direction I needed to go. I chose to repair what I know to be a soon to fail system but financially we will have to plan for replacing. My mom is now not melting in what would be a virtual sweat lodge and we could not be happier with the service we received. I will be calling on Matt in the future to replace the AC unit as I feel certain I could not get any better pricing and certainly no better service. Thank you Matt!
