Church Ranch Event Center

The event center won our hearts with its outdoor landscape, ample space to seat our 280 guests and its location to the city. We agreed to a date for our wedding and paid for what we thought was the full fee six months prior to the event. In the months leading up to the event, we were faced with charges that one would expect were included in the original rental fee. Be prepared to pay extra to put away all the chairs and tables, turn the fire pit on, hang lights or tulle, sweep the floor of all trash and mandatory tip for the event manager. During the sales process, we had verbal agreements to allow for a nicer looking photo booth than what was available but then was denied due to ‘not remembering the conversation’. We ended up losing our deposit for the 3^rd party photo booth in addition to paying twice as much as the going rate for a below average looking booth. These are minor things that added up but we had no choice being committed to the space already so we paid and moved on.
Throughout the process, we made it very clear that our guests should not have to pay for anything so we agreed to host the bar (open bar). That came with a mandatory 18% gratuity on top of close to a five-​figure bar tab. The unprofessionalism continued to shine as we later found out the staff suggested top shelf drinks, charged full price for mini beer bottles to where my guests had to carry around two at a time and on top of already getting a generous 18% tip, put a tip jar up on the bar.
During the planning process, we communicated that we were not happy with all of the additional charges only to be followed up with a comment about having a duty to operate the business for profit. Though this was our one and only wedding reception, we anticipate friends and family crossing that path in the near future. It will be our duty to inform them of our two star experience.

We just had our wedding here a couple weeks ago. We received nothing but great compliments. The venue is beautiful inside and out. It is great for large weddings as well as more intimate weddings. However, it is a little too big if you plan on having a small wedding with less than 50 people. The grounds outside were so beautiful! There is green everywhere and many places for photo opportunities. The only reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 was because the event was a little rushed. Our ceremony started almost 10 minutes early which is fine but there were a lot of people who had not arrived yet. That’s the only thing. It was just a little rushed. Thanks!

Recently attended a wedding at this beautiful venue, the setting and staff were amazing, the heat inside was unbearable! I would love to give this location 5 stars, unfortunately the heat /​no air conditioning really dropped your rating.

Breathtaking, perfect for weddings!
My niece got married at this lovely location and I was so pleased with how well manicured and gorgeous this place was! So beautiful.
They opted for a springtime wedding, so if you know Colorado you know that chances of afternoon storms are pretty likely in the spring. All was set for a gorgeous outdoor wedding until the sky turned black and a loud booming storm showed up the same time that all of us guests showed up. Bummer! However, as if it was planned that way, the staff at Church Ranch quickly rearranged the reception area into a room for the wedding service. So, it wasn’t ideal, but you could still see the amazing gardens through the windows (rain pouring down) proving that even if you choose to have your wedding or event INSIDE, it still is very lovely and special.
Fortunately, the rain cleared up for stunning garden pictures of the bride, groom, friends and family after the ceremony. Gorgeous walkways, trickling creek, little bridges and full, healthy trees and other greenery are all around the grounds.
Her pictures turned out absolutely beautiful, some of the best looking wedding photos I’ve ever seen… couldn’t ask for a prettier setting, or a prettier bride for that matter!
I think the only complaint that I have is the parking… it’s all gravel and so if you are wearing heels it could potentially be a disaster! Bring some flats if you are wearing your best heels.

I was a bridesmaid in a recent wedding at this venue. These are my perspectives as a guest and a person close to the bride, but I can’t speak from a bride’s experience.
To begin, the venue is amazing for an outdoor wedding. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve been to a more picturesque spot. It was clearly designed and built with outdoor weddings in mind. There are several specific areas conducive to the ceremony itself, a reception space, and photos. That being said, it IS quite manufactured, so if a bride was going for something casually elegant, happenstance or unique, this wouldn’t be the best choice.
The indoor facilities are quite nice. There is a large bride’s room with space for 2 – 3 women to get their hair/​make-​up done at the same time, while having enough room for others to gather by the couches. The room is set away down a hallway from any space a guest might be. There are a couple separate indoor spaces. One is a large, rustic ballroom with a large bar at one end and doors to the outside on the other. The other is a courtyard with a glass roof.
I have one negative thing that could or could not be exceptionally important to any bride considering this space. We were a morning wedding, and there was an afternoon wedding scheduled for the same day. Our wedding was to take place outdoors and the tables were outdoors, but the restrooms and buffet were indoors. The event center had set out the tables and chairs (granted, squished against one side of the ballroom) for the later wedding. It was in full view of any of our wedding’s guests. We asked that they be moved. After all, our bride had rented the entire facility and it wasn’t her fault that there were two weddings that day. We understood why they were set out — the staff had a quick turnaround — but it really killed the visual beauty of the venue. The venue agreed to move the tables, but we were told they «would not move the chairs.» To preserve the peace of the day, we accepted this reply, but it was rude. Each bride should be treated as a woman experiencing her wedding day, not as someone who is inconveniencing the staff.
