Metro Toyota

I have a more comprehensive review under Unilocal’s Metro Toyota — Service category where I gave them a 1-​star. Since this includes the entire operation I’ve gone with 2-​stars simply because I’m not sure about the sales staff. My interaction with the service department was very disappointing and not focused upon the customer. My experience is that although sales and service departments function independently from each other they are integrally related because what happens in one effects the other and vice versa. My experience of the service staff scheduler who was patronizing and rude caused me to feel that the organization must find this as acceptable behavior and treatment of customers.
Although my call to Metro was about a recall on my current Toyota my intention was also to car shop. I was pleased that with the help of Unilocalers I had narrowed my choice deciding that I’d shop with Metro because of the excellent reviews about staff being professional and treating customers with respect. The sales staff may be better and treat people well but I had to consider that after you buy a car the people you deal the most is the service department. In this case it made me decide to take my business to another dealership.
I hope this business will consider coaching their schedulers who answer the phone because a bad first impression stays with customers. I]may give Metro another look or I may just move along. Hopefully you’ll have a good experience and my bad one is the exception.

Easiest car buying experience I’ve ever had. This dealership is 2.5 hours away from my home, but I found a great deal on a truck on Autotrader. My salesman CAP was extremely straight forward and very helpful. He even held the truck for me for almost a week after only having my word that I’d buy it; no deposit required!
I’ve dealt with numerous dealerships after scouring the internet for good deals, and after finding out I was 2 hours away, didn’t seem to want to help me. Without hesitation, CAP gave me the utmost attention and service.
On the day I made my 2.5 hour trek to get the truck, the thought crossed my mind that I’ll get there, and all they’ll try to do is de-​value my trade-​in that we’d already agreed upon the value after they saw two pictures that I took of it. I felt I would be at their mercy since they knew I’d have five hours of drive time and might try to screw me over.
As I arrived, I was met in person by CAP who had my new truck pulled out for me and buffed to a shine! He set me up on my test drive and when I returned my paperwork was ready to sign! Not once did anyone give me any crap about my trade-​in! The paperwork was already set up by the numbers that had already been agreed upon by text message and I was on my way about 10 minutes later. Yes 10 minutes!
Bravo to this dealership, who earned my respect so much that I wouldn’t hesitate to go back in the future. Even 2.5 hours away.
If there was a teeny tiny gripe is that I received the truck with less than a half tank of gas. I have had dealerships fill the tank up upon purchase, but oh well, that’s a $ 20 issue that I can overlook.

I would not hesitate to recommend buying/​leasing a car at Metro Toyota. My salesperson, Pat Brick, was exceptional — he listened to what my needs were, made great suggestions as to alternative car models based on how I would use the car and my lifestyle. No insulting high-​pressure sales, only straightforward, creative and transparent dealing. What a refreshing difference from my past experiences! Bravo!

Had a great experience in the purchase of my brand new Rav4 from Metro Toyota. However, I noticed the remote doesn’t act like my previous Rav4… you have to press the Unlock Doors button on the remote twice to unlock all doors. My 2010 Rav4 would unlock all doors with one press of the remote button.
Within a couple of weeks of purchasing my new Toyota Rav4 from Metro Toyota I called them to have the remote Unlock Doors button reprogrammed the way I like. My sales associate contacted the Service Dept and informed me that they would charge me $ 50 to do it, as it takes 45 minutes of Technician time. This is the exact same fix and customer service issue that Bedford Toyota did for free on my 2010 Rav4. I turned down the expense, and was left feeling burned by yet another greedy dealership experience.
A few minutes later I received a call back from my sales associate, who informed me that it’s a setting anyone can access through the radio, and I can do it myself. I jumped in the car and within two minutes had it programmed successfully.
I saved $ 50, and Metro Toyota lost more than an easy $ 50.

We had a very positive experience purchasing a new car here. This dealership is very straightforward, fairly honest, and low pressure. They do not play the same tricks, etc that many other dealerships play. They also did not go overboard with upselling on overpriced options and paint protection plans. Overall, a good place to go if you want to skip the hassle and just buy a new car for a fair price.

Unfortunately, this is at least the second time I’ve had a bad experience with Metro Toyota. The first time, I purchased a new corolla, and they didn’t include floor mats for the car. What a mess that turned out to be, and it was not a pleasant experience dealing with management. In the end, I ended up buying my own mats.
Thinking I would give them a second chance, I received a promotional email from them about another new car I am in the market for. The «internet manager» Elizabeth Easley was slow to respond back, and when she did, she did not include half of my questions, she just told me to call her. Well I did call her to talk about the car. Boy oh boy was that an interesting conversation. Not only was she EXTREMELY rude, but she actually ridiculed me for bargaining (Yeah, I forgot, I was supposed to just give in and buy at your price, right?) and sighed, huffed and puffed on the phone, all while typing away at other emails/​or whatever she was doing on her computer while talking to me.
Gee, thanks for the attention to a potential customer buddy.
It’s official now, I’m done w/​Metro Toyota. I’m buying from the dealer who was $ 160 cheaper OTD, and who was professional, courteous, and deserved the sale.

I purchased my 2012 Toyota Corolla Sport at Metro last year and have been pleasantly surprised with my initial and all subsequent visits. I had shopped around at a few other dealerships and this was the only one where I felt like an actual person as opposed to just another potential sale (which I know I am… but it’s nice when they can add some good personality to it). They showed me the invoice of the car as ‘proof’ I wasn’t getting much at all above their costs, plus I traded in my old car and without even having to haggle, their first offer was almost identical to the Kelly Blue Book amount.
Since then I’ve been back 4 times; 2 times for auto butler treatment and 2 times for my scheduled maintenance checkups. Butler treatments keep my car looking brand new, and the maintenance is very fast and efficient with no additional sell-​ups. Nice relaxing lobby, coffee and muffins, plus a play area for kids. They even offer free rides and pick ups if they are doing any major work and have to wait more than a few hours (hasn’t been the case so far with me).
The only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is the overall high price of some things there. I overhear their service department quoting people, and prices are higher than I was used to paying in the past for basic things. Plus I had to have a little body work done when I dinged my car… took it in to a few places for quotes. Toyota quoted $ 799 and 3 days of work… I took it to another place which charged $ 328, finished in one day and did excellent work.
Overall if you need a new car, can’t beat the service!

Ok, I don’t know how it happened. We probably can’t afford it. But we just needed a new car, primarily because my husband and I work too far away from each other for us to only have one. Plus our other car is not exactly «Winter Friendly.» And, as Murray put it at the end of our last Unilocaler outing, the old car was a «money trap.»
Anyway! We went on a car «browse» that turned out to be a great buy. I love Toyotas. (It’s okay, our other car is American…) And I would highly recommended Ken H. as a great salesman who also happened to mention that he used to live in Madison, WI writing music for a band out there. It’s the Wisconsin Connection.
He let us test drive as many cars as we wanted, and showed us all the neat things the car did on snow and ice. Plus, we really did close out the place as we decided to buy it at 6pm on Saturday night, just as they were about to shut down for the night. Ken and his guys stayed open longer for us to have our little «conversation» about whether we should go ahead and do this. Very patient. Also, he made sure we got as many discounts as humanly possible (civil service discount for me, recent grad discount for the hubby).
I would definitely recommend these guys. Felt a warm welcome from the time we stepped inside to the time we rolled out in our new ride!!!
