Wood spoon is no longer in business and the venue will now be café sabina. The sign has been put up today. They will have manti, tandir samsa, pelmeni and other eats

It was very nice of the establishment to reach out and rectify their mistakes. 5 stars on customer service, and much improved food quality.

It was okay but honestly I’ve had better. The people in there are soooo soo soo nice and I feel bad for leaving a review like this but I just feel like the chicken was dry and the red sauce was icky. They have so much potential, it’s sad that I was disappointed like this.

How stupid is the owner? I ordered lamb kabob sandwich and you idiots add two lousy pieces which you than have the balls to slice up into 4 pieces and even more daring charge $ 9 for this POS ??? Screwing your customers usually results posting: «Out of Business» sign !!!

This place had a rocky start, but it has slowly showed really great improvement and I am happy to have them on ave x. The food: They used to offer quinoa, but I’m guessing it wasn’t a popular choice. I love their Turkish burger special, comes with fires and soda for a great price. Also a good choice: Lamb gyro or Adana sandwich on home bread, comes with salad stuffed inside a fluffy bread kind of like lavash but not really. Their fries are crispy and not greasy, seems like a small detail but important to have quality fries. Their portions are great as are their prices. They have Ayran and Turkish soda as well as desserts. Keep it up Wood Spoon! I look forward to you staying in the neighborhood!

First time we ordered Wood Spoon on Seamless and it was delivered in less than 30 minutes. It smelled so good and tasted flavorful. Chicken adana and kebab were both delicious as well as the eggplant salad and other sides. Will definitely order from them again soon!

Food wasn’t terrible, just mediocre. Meat and pita were dry and there wasn’t much flavor. However, service was quick and friendly.

I am very happy that I tried this place via grubhub, im always skeptical about trying new places from apps but this restaurant failed to disappointed, I am totally a falafel junkie, so I wanted to see if their version of falafel tasted good. For six dollars you get at least 5 filling pieces of falafel with hummus and a salad, the falafel wasn’t too dry and it was perfectly seasoned the shepherd salad for 5 bucks with feta cheese was rather filling for a small size, for a dollar they give you a pile of extra feta, everything was fresh with a perfect combo of onions, salt, tomatoes cucumbers, next time im gonna stuff my face with the large size! I also got extra hummus on the side since I like to put that on everything, they gave a large size for five dollars, it was fresh for the whole week! it wasn’t too oily either which was a plus. they also give fresh pita and spicy sauces on the side with no charge. I am also happy with the fact that the order didn’t take more then 30 minutes as indicated on the app, they also allow you to track your grub which is a plus. I cant wait to try more dishes from this place!

Excellent lunch spot, out favorites are the chicken gyro, adana kabob, shepard & eggplant salads, and lentil soup. we have been hesitant to order dinner after a few disappointing dishes, mostly dry chicken gyro — thinking maybe they dont use the spit at night? they host small parties, so maybe it depends on the night? they are very generous with pita/homebread, and when I would eat-in lunch regularly, often gave me complimentary tea.

Pre-Mermaid Parade mania, we stopped at this newish Turkish spot my neighborhood friend told me about. This store many moons ago was Ciro’s. I still remember the flavor of Ciro’s Pizza thin crust, not too tomatoey– oh I digress. The food here is very fresh with the owner cutting nice tomatoes in the kitchen, and the meats marinating in a refrigerated counter in front. We both went with shish kebab(small) plate for $ 8.50. That would be lamb of course. This came with rice, a small salad, Turkish bread naturally and white sauce without asking. It was delicious. All the food was so flavorful– with the great Turkish bread to dip & accompany it all. Good old neighborhood value for $ 8.50
