Chao is amazing!
Seriously, I couldn’t wish for a better photographer. Chao follows the idea of a perfect picture — I mean he makes sure that the dress looks equally beautiful on both sides, takes time to improve the posing and surroundings. Even though our photosession took a bit longer, he never mentioned extra minutes. During the photosession he was gentle and patient (you imagine how nervous the bride gets on that day! :-))
Also Chao sends you a couple of samples on the second day after the wedding, so you can see how they come out. I even asked for an extra one, and he was kind to send it to me. The quality is perfect!
I highly recommend working with Chao, this talent deserves attention, especially among all these overpriced photographers.

Chao is an absolute gentleman and was so helpful in photographing our elopement. He was very easy to get in touch with by email or phone and quick to respond. We didn’t really know what we wanted at the start, but he gave us great advice and ideas on locations, and he scouted the venue (Central Park) ahead of time. He was a calm presence on the big day, and did what needed to be done to get the best shots, including moving people out of the way. We got back 100 edited photos less than three weeks after the ceremony, and we were delighted at the results. It is great to have the day documented for our family and friends, since we were the only ones present. We couldn’t have asked for more from Chao. Great value, great service, great photos!

Chao is a dream. He handled both our engagement and wedding photography, and everything he captured was absolutely beautiful — artistic and unique without being ridiculously staged or over-​the-​top. He also took time to scout out the surrounding areas, to ensure that the best possible locations were utilized. And he handles stressful situations wonderfully — the entire timeline of our wedding day was thrown off by the tardiness of other vendors, but he still managed to get so many beautiful pictures and capture so many magical moments in a condensed amount of time (and all without getting in the way of the wedding experience for us or our guests). He also adheres to deadlines that he sets for when photos will be given. Simply put, he’s incredibly talented, wonderful to work with, incredibly nice and above all else, professional from start to finish. We cannot recommend his services enough — not just because you get such a great experience/​result for such a great value, but also because he is a genuine talent and kind soul.

Chao is awesome! He is kind, patient, and thoughtful. We are SO happy that we used him for our wedding and engagement photos. We thought engagement photos were corny and a waste of money, but after meeting with Chao in person and talking to him via email and phone as the wedding approached, we decided to have a session. His amazingly affordable prices made it any easy decision. He ended up spending time and a half on our session and the photos were incredible. I was completely reassured that we’d made a great choice and that our wedding photos would be excellent. And they were! Chao did a great job catching a mix of candid moments, posed shots, and those funky-​artistic shots as well. He was more than happy to do whatever we asked of him and didn’t try to tack on extra costs for random crap the day of the wedding (not that we asked for random crap). Our photos came back to us so quickly that we were still on our honeymoon when they were ready and we didn’t look at them till much later. We picked 60 for retouching – there were about 370 photos total for a 6.5 hour wedding – and got them all back on a disc about a week later. Picking which photos to retouch was tricky because each photo brought to mind such great meaning and memory, but at the same time it was easy knowing that they looked great even without being retouched. Photography, I think, is one of the MOST IMPORTANT parts of your wedding, because it’s the one part you can literally keep forever, even after your brain turns to oatmeal. We felt so lucky to have found the perfect photographer to capture those great moments flawlessly and without costing more than 6% of the total cost of our wedding. Crazy-​good prices, crazy-​good outcome.
One tip: be sure to make a list of things you definitely want pictures of and share it with him. I wish I had more pictures of the venue, flowers, and other small details, but I didn’t think about it until afterwards and we were all more focused on pictures of our guests having a great time.
