The key to training is this. Repetition and Consistency! You want to set up the learning experience so that the dog has success and can get the concept.

It’s your behavior that will lead your dog towards having a positive or negative experience.

In my world, honesty is the only policy. If you want to fix a problem, you must work to a goal of 100% effectiveness. You must be consistent and patient. Everyone wants things to happen overnight but that’s never the case. You must be honest with what is working and be versatile in your approach. Recognize things as they are and not how you want them to be.

I have extensive experience having worked with dogs for 43 years. The methods I use have been honed by dealing with many breeds and dispositions. My training academy has worked with private individuals, large groups and conducted seminars and workshops throughout the east coast. I believe in a three level approach and in terms of method, doing what is necessary for the dog to understand the concept. This is very important. The three-​step program is The Learning, The Correction and The Proofing phase. These steps are the core of my training philosophy.
