Tutor Time

Very unprofessional place. I scheduled online a tour one week ahead of time. I even received phone call day before my scheduled visit, reminding me about the time and date.
When my husband and I showed up the lady that emerged from back office was very surprised that I have scheduled the visit. She did not introduce herself, asked how I scheduled the visit, online? did I call? She did not even say «Hi» to my kid or did not acknowledge her presence. After learning my child age, she said she does not have spots until May 2016. She was in a rush and was not interested in showing the place at all. Seeing her attitude, I knew this is not a place I want my child to go to. We left without seeing the location. The worst of all is that my child really wanted to see her prospective day care and she was not able to. Great job on that thing you do Tutor Time!!!

What can i say except that i couldn’t be happier that my son attends this school. My husband and I, prior to sending our 13 month old here had problems finding a school we felt comfortable leaving our, then, 3 months old baby. after the first few days i was completely satisfied with our decision. We live in queens and travel all the way to bay ridge to drop our son. it’s beyond worth the trip and travel time. I can check in at any time with them, they send me daily updates with pictures. My son is learning and thriving at this school. His teachers are beyond amazing and so loving and caring, extremely attentive to the children’s needs. he always has a smile on his face which is the most comforting thing to see. And he seriously LOVES his teachers, he’s always reaching for them and giving kisses. Leaving your child at such a young is hard but when both parents need to work you want to know your baby is in great hands. Tutor Time Bayridge is hands down amazing and i love the staff! Keep up the great work!

This is my first review but I just had to write something because I’m so disappointed in the management of this place. My first interaction with them was probably 5 months ago. I called to set up a meeting to visit and when I arrived, it was 15 minutes of waiting before the director came to inform me that I could not possibly have an appointment because they don’t make them for that time. She kindly gave me a rushed 10 minute overview and mini tour after explaining that they don’t honor appointments made by calling the headquarters (the number listed for tutor time online) because they don’t communicate often enough with them. How is that my problem??? Still, I thought my daughter would be happy there so I applied for the July waiting list, which is when i wanted to start, and was told that there should surely be many open spots by then.
When I contacted them a month ago to confirm there was a spot, they told me yes and they would give me a date and further instructions as the time got closer. I never heard back. On two separate occasions, I called again and was told they would email me the paperwork that day and they never did. I called AGAIN, June 30, and asked if I could come in and pay a deposit to reserve the spot they said they had, for July 15, my original date, and they said they cannot guarantee any spots without PAYING half the week’s tuition for each week I wanted to hold the spot for. That’s nearly a non-​refundable $ 400 that is just LOST even if I start on the date just two wks from now that we agreed on. Are you kidding me, Tutor Time?! I’m fully willing to pay a deposit that counts towards the first or last week but what a greedy, money-​hungry company to demand such an exorbitant amount of money or otherwise start THAT DAY and not allow me to give my nanny a fair two weeks’ notice. The option to start a new childcare routine is not just a «no big deal, last minute decision.» It is absolutely absurd that anyone should stand for this and it is completely ridiculous and unprofessional to tell me that the only option to avoid that fee is to start the second they say there is a spot and yet NOT send me the twice– promised paperwork. Kirsty, the «director,» is an absolute joke. I had such high hopes for this place and I am left disgusted and just so disappointed. Good luck to anyone else who tries to deal with them. They clearly have no respect for anyone else’s schedules, money, or time.

I’m an alumni of this school. I am about to turn 40 this week and I still remember how well I was treated here. I pass by the school every day on my morning commute to my job in NYC. Glad to see it is still there.

My son has been here three years and we are very happy. This is our second day care and I have toured at least 20 in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Its bright, sunny and clean. The directors know every child and the teachers are enthusiastic. Some of them have many years experience caring for children. There is low turnover in the baby room and a reasonable turnover for the other teachers (who are finishing college or go on to teaching in the public elementary schools). I feel very comfortable having my children cared for here. You can’t beat the hours either! 6:30 — 6:30 and they are rarely closed.
