Wow, what a disappointment. Came in for brunch after not wanting to wait in any of the other local establishments that all had very long waits. I guess I can see now why everywhere else was packed and Trix was empty. Despite being empty it took over a half hour for us to get our food and we didn’t order anything that should take a long time. As for the food, I ordered the«breakfast burrito», which was really a scrambled egg wrap. It didn’t appear to have any of the actual ingredients that were on the menu(no beans, very little cilantro, no cheese I could find). The salsa on the side was not very good and the guacamole was brown and completely tasteless. I had heard decent things about this place but was shocked at how bad it was. Will not be going back despite its proximity to my apartment.

Drinks: 1.) Johnnys coat pocket — woof sour coz of the lemon 2.) Hard working women — yum! It’s like a hot chocolate with apple spice mm! 3.) Mulled wine — ooh very nice, very nice. other mulled wine tastes like warmed up wine but this is delightful! Nice flavor of cinnamon n nutmeg tastes like kinda spiced cider but get the nice warm subtle relaxing buzz of warm wine mm… Delishh Delicious and unique hot alcoholic drinks! Happy they have mulled wine, reminds me of Europe. We are in «Bedford» afterall. ;) Offers full bar and food menu also SERVICE Good very friendly, attentive ATMOSPHERE Feels like a European gastropub, little stained glass work in windows, pretty casual, chill wooden furniture dim lighting, evening they set out real candles on table, it’s nice ambiance. In neighborhood of Williamsburg so central to other things to walk to and see

This is what I call a true hidden gem. This place has some of the best food I’ve had ! So good you have no choice but to ask questions. I found myself moaning which each biteful. Thankfully something my friends have learned to tune out. In fact, had I not been sitting and sharing a bench next to my wonderful friends sexy hubby I’d be OK with admitting I think I creamed the bench under us. Seriously the food is so good it’s truly food porn. A burst of delicious flavors and texturse it feels like a oral orgasm in the literal sense. Yummy really!

Amazing bartender. Especially Mike, such a delight. The food is absolutely exquisite. The paella reminded me of home and paired with a Bordeaux. The yellow fin tuna was fantastic. And to top it off the pan a cotta was a beautiful end. So velvety and smooth. The lemon cutting through the sweetness of the strawberries was divine. Will definitely come back again.

Had a wonderful brunch as well as a recent dinner at TRIX. The food was so fresh and delicious! Omelette so and portobello sandwich were to perfection. Roast chicken… Yummy. Great team: manager and servers making sure all is perfect! Cocktails fun and delicious! Really nice bartender and fun bar ! One of the few places in Williamsburg on the main street(Bedford Ave) with great outdoor seating for enjoyment and people watching! Worth a visit!!!

Don’t go for brunch. Takes FOREVER and portions are tiny. The chicken paillard is literally a mountain of arugula and a small filet of chicken hidden somewhere in there. No brunch drink specials or unlimited anything. Food taste and creativity was not good for the price they were charging. The only thing I liked was the décor– industrial/beachy feel.

They gave our dog a bowl of water, the food and iced coffee were delicious(breakfast burrito and house Benedict) AND they charged us nothing for the burrito because they had to bring it out a tad late. Overall great service

Went here specifically for two reasons, one being the place always looking pretty busy, and the other being the outdoor seating. And perhaps a third reason being that the Meatball Shop didn’t have their tables outside on the day. Burger was great, as was the cheese and fruit plate appetizer. It’s pretty much exactly what you’d expect from a restaurant-bar. Service was also very friendly and attentive despite our server seemingly dealing with the entire place on her lonesome. It’s right on what is probably the busiest strip of Williamsburg so it’s great for people watching if you grab a table in the outside section. No complaints from me, and I’d happily eat there again in the future.

Maybe 2.5 stars if I am generous. I ordered the ceviche, which came old and overcooked and over-spiced to cover for its age and not to forget WAY over priced, clocking at 19 $ for night of heartburn. Service was barely passable. The only things this place has going for it is location, location, location.

Incredible setting and possibly the best food i’ve eaten out in a while. Definitely coming back. Food tastes really fresh and beautifully plated. Definitely recommend the Trix salad and the Norwegian Benedict.

This place is so understated when it comes to the food and service. Ok the interior is a little out of whack and lacks to explain on first impressions what kind of ethos this establishment adheres to but the food is seriously some of the best I’ve eaten in New York. I work at a couple of great places in Brooklyn myself and eat out a lot. Ive never had a bad time here. Food, service and atmosphere are all perfectly balanced. The staff are so friendly and actually wanna talk to you outside of their expected role as a server. Yesterday I ate the special crab cakes with a salsa and kind of Thai curry sauce. F**K ME! They were so delicious I contemplated a second go but held back on my gluttony. The Irish Server ‘Steff’(I think) was a delight to talk to. Super attentive and asks if you want ice for the table water. She also paired a summer ale with my food. Its such a small thing but it makes the experience really professional. Even if it’s only a quick beer and crab cakes on a quiet Monday. Its awesome working in hospitality to see others take such pride in their work.

The place itself is inviting from the outside and the music was inviting. But we left after an hour, longing for Manhattan. Mostly there was no adult /owner supervision of the staff. In particular, the male bartenders seem to work there just to hit on the girls. We were shocked to see them pouring shots for themselves and different groups of girls and in some cases coming around the bar to sit/talk with them while their girlfriends went to the restroom. So, if you’re a girl with low self esteem, and who likes to hook up with bar staff, this may be the place for you. The owner(s) should be concerned with this bs. As for us, we’re never going back!

Love this place– Great vibes, great bartenders. Not too much on the pricey side and the drink portions are GREAT! It’s very look key, relaxing type of feeling. They have a beautiful bar design – I have yet to come across one that looks this unique and amazing! Drinks are a must have here if you’re craving a good time!

This was the worst meal I’ve had in New York City(street meat and cart pretzels included). Things started off well enough, the restaurant itself has a nice vibe and decent décor. Our waitress was friendly, but not the best. She didn’t know anything about the few beers they offered, and hollered across the restaurant to ask the bartender his opinion. We ordered the Trix salad and Trix burger to share between us, and once the food came out, I knew it was going to be bad. An overwhelming burnt smell came off both the dishes, but I was hoping it wouldn’t be as bad as it smelled. It was. We had asked for the burger medium, but what came was a charcoal briquette with raw meat inside. The bun was also scorched. It was nearly inedible, but I was starving, so I tried to scrape off the burnt bits and power through. The Trix salad was even worse. The chicken was burnt beyond recognition, and totally overwhelmed all the other flavors if you accidentally ate a piece. There were also charred pieces of pita thrown in, which you had to be careful to avoid. We told the waitress near the end of our meal about everything being burnt, but as we were talking to her, another waiter grabbed the plates out of her hand and pulled her away to the bar – to take shots. So. Freaking. Rude. She apologized half-heartedly, gave us an infinitesimal discount, and sealed the deal for me on Trix. Never again!

We loved everything about it. As a couple of jews craving brunch on Christmas day we struggled finding a place that would be open. This place not only was open but the food was really delicious, the prices low-ish and the service friendly and welcoming. We’ll be coming back again.

Remember a 3 on Unilocal mean’s A-Ok, and that’s exactly how I felt about this place. It probably deserves a 3.5 because it is definitely above average. First off, the service was impeccable. They accommodated our group of 9 with ease and kept checking on us from time to time without hovering. Our server was also very fun and playful which we appreciated that since we were in a playful mood. I love beef burgers but was in the mood for a veggie burger since they make the in house. I added cheese and avocado and it was good. I had to eat it with a knife and fork because it kept falling apart, but that was ok. The fries with garlic sauce were probably my fave. I had a sip of my friend’s Mai Tai which was fabulous. I had regular lemonade which was tart. I like tart.

I strolled into Trix on a lazy Sunday after coming to Williamsburg to spend an afternoon walking aimlessly and people watching. I didn’t have a particular restaurant in mind, nor was I craving anything specific. I ended up dining here solely because it looked adorable and I got tired of walking around and looking at menus in storefront windows. This is unlike me. I don’t randomly stumble into restaurants in unfamiliar neighborhoods. I research beforehand. I look at reviewer photos. I dissect menus. And, I scan all recent reviews for opinions regarding ambiance and service, looking for tips on what to try and what to avoid. Do you think I’m anal? Well, I’m not! My experience at Trix gave proof to that fact and left me feeling that my OCD ways are both completely necessary and valid. The service I received here was just terrible. After ordering cocktails, I stared at my drink, sitting on the bar for 10 minutes before my inattentive waiter finally brought it over to me. After ordering, I felt forgotten. We were never checked on. I was never asked how any of my items were. When I wanted another drink, I had to flag my waiter down. And then he started making his way to the bar to put in my drink order before even asking my boyfriend what he’d like, even though his drink was clearly empty. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive. 45 minutes! And that was for appetizers! And, I think it’s worth mentioning that we ordered raw oysters. RAW! What takes 45 minutes? Just shuck the damn things, and haul ‘em out! But, I will concede that the food was lovely. The oysters arrived well prepared, with no remnants of grit or bits of shell to speak of. They were accompanied by a lovely mignonette that we enjoyed thoroughly. We also ordered the polenta cakes with mushroom ragout which were decadent and rich, and very nicely presented. Our main courses were standard fare that were executed well. I had the moules frites accompanied by a tasty aioli that hit the spot. My boyfriend ordered smoked trout over grits, which was adorned with a fried egg. While he might have preferred a slightly runnier yolk, I acknowledge that perhaps we’re splitting hairs and the dish, overall, was a hit. The service was horrendous, and the two cocktails that we ordered initially were terrible. We moved on to a beer for him, and a glass of wine for me after learning our lesson. But, the food was delightful. I likely wouldn’t return here, and I wouldn’t advise anyone to go out of their way to dine here. But, if you live in the area and don’t have anywhere to be in a hurry, you might want to roll the dice and give it a try. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I checked on Unilocal!for nearby spots and Trix came up. It was a short walk away, had positive reviews, and Christine has a friend that likes the spot — we had all the validation we needed to go. As soon as we entered, we noticed the random art all over the restaurant, aptly named Trix. We sat in a booth and each ordered a cocktail. Christine ordered the signature Trix Cocktail, made with muddled white and red grapes, Pisco, lime juice and Chardonnay. It was quite tasty — Christine was kind enough to let me try a sip! I ordered The Amelia, made with vodka, St. Germain, fresh lemon and blackberry purée. It was delicious! Don’t let the random décor scare you off — this spot serves up great drinks and has a happy hour everyday from 4−8pm.

Speed in for a drink and some oysters with some friends while waiting for some other friends. The selection of beers was pretty good and their signature cocktails all liked intriguing. The one person in our group to get a cocktail had all of us give it a sip. I didn’t catch the name but it had cinnamon sprinkled around the rim of the glass. It was very well made. The bartender we had took good care of us as well. He made the crap it off that cocktail and served our beers quickly. In terms of the oysters, they were pretty standard. I think you have to really try to screw up oysters, though.
