History

Established in 1975.

As an experienced nondenominational ritualist and Certified Funeral Celebrant (by the In-​Sight Institute, sponsored by the New York State Funeral Director’s Association), I offer customized creative, sensitive, spirited end-​of-​life ceremonies. All services are designed specifically to suit the individual needs of each family and are planned in collaboration with the near and dear of the deceased.

My mission is twofold:

To honor the life of your loved one in a meaningful manner that respects his or her beliefs, reflects his or her personality and circumstances, and celebrates the significance of the relationship that you shared.

To offer comfort, consolation and grief support to those relatives, friends, colleagues and communities who mourn their loss.

Business Owner

For 35 years I have worked with individuals, families and communities to create meaningful ceremonies to mark life’s transitions. I am a Certified Funeral Celebrant, certified through the In-​Sight Institute in a training sponsored by the New York State Funeral Association.

As a recognized ritual expert, I write syndicated columns for The Huffington Post, Beliefnet and United Press International Religion and Spirituality Forum and am an award-​winning author of four books about multicultural ceremonial practice.



My extensive knowledge of funeral, memorial and life tribute services from many faiths and traditions coupled with my compassionate nature make me uniquely qualified to design and officiate at your end-​of-​life service.

I have experienced a great deal of loss in my own life and know intimately the deep pain of grief, as well as the exhilarating power of healing. This, perhaps, is my greatest qualification.
