Great drinks, really nice outdoor seating in the back with covered awnings to keep you cool during sunny, summer days. Engaging server who seemed interested in our preferences and made suitable recommendations for drinks.

Don’t go here when you’ve been drinking a ton and are really loud… i still do but its kinda chill and not a screaming drunk loud spot. They have really delicious drinks and tasty small bar snacks. A little pricy but nice to make it the first stop in of the night.

Fabulous bar in Brooklyn and I’m honestly conflicted about Unilocaling about it because it was so good and so unassuming and I want it to remain so. Great late night bites, great cocktails. Obviously run by something who cares deeply about their craft and their environment. Go find Tooker Alley and have yourself a night where you feel like you’re taken back sixty years in time when Brooklyn was still quiet and places like this were undiscovered.

Drinks are very delicious and tasty. JALAPINA is a must try. I also tried Peach bourbon it was very good. Jazz music and very good vibe.

So as many other reviewers have stated, there’s a strong«No Unilocaling» policy here. My first instinct was: First rule of Fight Club. But I quickly got over that and don’t really care because Unilocaling is what helps bring in business(sorry not sorry Tooker). That nonsense aside: I absolutely loved the place. The drinks are decadent, the food is more like tapas but delicious(I ordered 1⁄3 of the menu because it all looked amazing.) If you’re in the area you should give it a try. *Fun side note: the menu(which is book-like in nature) has some really fun awesome facts. If you’ve got the chance give it a read.

Aside from the snarky«Don’t Unilocal me bro» warning in the menu, there’s a lot to like about Tooker Alley. There’s a wide range of really well thought-out cocktails, from variations on familiar ones(my fiancée swears by the almond-heavy old-fashioned, which comes with a little piece of almond brittle), seasonal choices(hot drinks are the trend at the moment), and interesting new creations that play well with vinegar, infused syrups, and herbs like thyme. My favorite is probably the Haymakers Punch – if you like bourbon and ginger(if you don’t, you should), it’s a delicious variation on the usual. If you’re not a liquor-drinker, there’s actually a pretty decent beer selection as well, including a few draft choices. The staff is very friendly and helpful with selections. If you’re showing up with a group, they greatly appreciate a call ahead, and can reserve a larger table for you. The bar snacks are quite tasty as well, especially the spicy deviled eggs and the three-bean dip(the latter is pretty simplistic for the price, given that it’s basically beans, onions, and Tostito scoops, but it’s still about the healthiest-but-delicious bar food I’ve ever had). The space is dark, maybe a little bit too dark, but it would work well as a classy date spot in the evening. During the warmer months, there’s a decent backyard, which makes up for its lack of adornment with capacity. Really solid cocktail bar.

Definitely come here for a cool spot to chill in Brooklyn! It’s super convenient if you want to find a place to go after the Brooklyn Museum or the Botanical Garden. Their deviled eggs are pretty spicy but good. I liked both of my drinks. It’s the typical egg white cocktail place where you’ll get one of those fancy speakeasy cocktails. They have a lot of options and the ambiance is really good for a date or with friends.

Brooklyn’s cocktail and food game has been on the rise these last few years– and Tooker Alley is a great example. It’s cocktails are comparable to what you’ll find in the top mixed-drink locales in the city, while it’s tasty treats are comparable to what you’ll find in the cozy hole-in-the-wall joints you’ll find in the boro of Queens. Tooker Alley is stashed on a quiet street in Prospect Heights and has a chill ambience and great bartenders. Definitely worth dropping by if you’re in the neighborhood.

Came here on Sunday afternoon with a few friends after brunch. Not many people were there at the time. This bar is all about the craft cocktail. They give you a book, literally a book that contains their cocktails. Complicated stuff; ingredients that I’ve never even heard of. So I, just like everyone at the table we just went with our best judgement and chose a drink. Honestly no one really knew what the heck they were ordering but everyone really liked their drink. The waitress was really nice and even brought over a round of shots. One thing, in the back of their menu book were blank pages that said, Don’t Unilocal Me Bro leave your comments here. LOL! Nope, I’ll be Unilocaling.

— This is a grown man bar, bring your henny and cranberry ordered down the street — Bartenders know what they’re doing — Great drinks all around — They’ve got something for everybody’s taste — there’s no best drink, we all ordered 6 different drinks, and they all were delicious — This is a grown man bar — Enjoy the artwork in your menus, while you wait — Awesome wait staff

«Meh» is an apt description here. Oh, and expect some looks of mild distain from the all-too-cool bartenders if you don’t know the name of the jazz artist playing on their Pandora station.

I was here Monday evening with a friend, and the drinks were decent. Probably a little over-creative(my cocktail was one of a handful that involved apple cider vinegar, and while it worked in the context of the drink, it was a little odd), if truth be told, but the drinks we ordered generally worked. The ambience was pretty awesome — we chose to be seated outdoors, and it was a great evening to be outside. Since we were seated outdoors, it was also a bit quieter than it was indoors, which meant it was actually possible to carry on a conversation at normal volume. The drink selection is extensive, with wine, beer, and cocktails. The menu itself is also pretty cool, as the binders include art drawn by patrons and selections of poetry. Major ding on service here, though: we waited about 10 minutes after being seated before anyone came to take our orders, and then wound up waiting another 10 for our drinks. Finally, our tab took a good 10 – 15 minutes to arrive after we flagged our server down for it. Given that it wasn’t particularly crowded, it seemed a little ridiculous that service was this slow.

A fellow Unilocaler suggested Tooker Alley as I love a well crafted cocktail, and told me don’t let the outward«hipster» appearance fool you. I generally don’t avoid a place based on its patrons anyhow. I am happy I indulged. It was Sunday afternoon, sun shining, we sat in the outdoor patio area. Good service, nothing was pretentious about this place. The cocktail menu was quite extensive, kind of sexy, and I wanted to pretty much try one of each! I settled on the Jala Pina. Delicious with a spicy kick. I would never imagined this as a drink, but it was tasty, refreshing, and curiously hot — best enjoyed very chilled. I could not restrain myself from downing it. So take yourself and tip well.

In my brief time living in Brooklyn, this served as a fantastic cocktail spot to hang out in that was just right around the block from my apartment. Now that I’m in the UWS, I kind of appreciate this neighborhoods particularly good cocktail scene, with this bar being a highlight. I’d take a date here — or just swing by for a Negroni after visiting the amenities in Prospect Park. Give me some mustached, hipstery cocktail goodness my sweet Brooklyn. And please don’t order wine or beer. It’s a cocktail bar.

Tooker Alley is the kind of place I was fully prepared to dislike before entering — it seems like such a particular(and at this point overdone) concept to me… I was already rolling my eyes wondering how long the bartenders’ beards would be and how many tweezers and eyedroppers would be employed to finish my drink. But it’s truly a fine, sincere, welcoming establishment. Just a place deadly serious about crafting serious cocktails. Our bartender, Benjamin, was quite the artisan. The staff is quiet and serious about their work, but ultimately very friendly and interesting.(We were even invited to share in a shot of high-end rum when we closed the joint with them.) I particularly appreciate the seasonal section of the menu — they seem to really make an effort to incorporate seasonal ingredients into their cocktails. The current spring seasonal section includes an outstanding Gin cocktail with Rhubarb syrup and a Bourbon cocktail with Peach. On the standard cocktail menu, the Old Fashioned is a particular standout — I daresay it would make Don Draper smile. Well, at least Roger Sterling. I can more-or-less see Tooker Alley from my front window, so I’m glad I enjoy it so. And it’s a good thing it’s so close… those are some potent potables. You don’t want to plan to have too far to walk if you’ve imbibed more than a couple here. It’s a bit too pricey(and perhaps a wee bit too staid) to really make it my «regular,» but it’s a fine place to have right in your back pocket when your taste buds demand something special, and your own mediocre cocktail skills won’t quite do.

Comfy bar with sexy drinks and live music sometimes. I came on a Monday, when they had an awesome jazz band playing. Service was good. Cool selection of crafted cocktails around the $ 10 and higher range. Flavor matches were great and everything was mixed well. Dimly lit, so nice choice for a romantic but still kind of casual night out. Small but room to walk even when kind of crowded. Tad pricey, but nice ambience and great vibes.

I like to think I’m a great customer. I’m friendly; I make jokes that range anywhere from mildly annoying to mildly annoying; I tip really well; I listen to the staff when they tell me things… If they prefer I pay in cash, I can usually oblige. If they are closing up, I’ll settle up and get out. If they think my friends are idiots, I agree wholeheartedly. But I’m about to disregard Tooker Alley’s request in their menu that reads: «Don’t Unilocal me, bro.» Because I suppose that’s what I’m doing right now. Tooker Alley is a solid little cocktail bar. They have many, many drinks in their cutesy little menu(as well as space for notes, pictures, and even toasts), and they know how to make most of them quite well. I found their Old Fashioned to be quite drinkable, and the Thyme After Thyme also hit the spot briefly(I always return to the brown spirits eventually). Personally, I would stick to drinks, as the food left a lot to be desired, but it’s not a bad place to drown some sorrows.

…“through the hole in the wall, down Tooker Alley”… No sign outside, a nod to times past at it’s best. «Step High, Stoop Low, Leave Your Dignity Outside» — menu cover says. I am loving it already. Interior is simple chic, dimly lit just enough to make it comfortable for casual drinks or for a date. It is very spacious, and intimate at same time, there is long table and bar area if you are with big group, and small tables for cosy dates. It was not very crowded on weekday, either. Menu design once again reflects the spirit of Tooker Alley, simple, turn of the century feel, and very extensive. With good sense of humor, you can draw/write on last page, that proclaims«don’t Unilocal me bro».(evil grin) After fussing over menu for a while, I settled on Haymaker’s Punch. Loved it! There are so many good cocktails to try, tho, there is favorite for everyone. We also had some bites — brisket biscuits were pretty good, so were prosciutto-wrapped dates. I was a bit disappointed in ceviche being served with saltines, since marinade kept dripping thru the holes, not easy to share. But overall, pretty good snacks to go with awesome drinks. Props to our waitress for remembering each person order for our large party and splitting bills just like we requested, without mixing them up! Oh, yes, thumbs up for Tooker Alley!
