Tip of the Tongue Caterers

Used Tip of the Tongue for my wonderful cocktail style wedding in in the summer of 2013. From the moment Scott and I spoke for the first time I was in love, Scott is truly amazing. The proposals, custom menu, tasting and his team on the day we’re all stellar.
We so loved the experience and food selections that the hubby and I are thinking about asking Scott to recreate the meal for our 5 year anniversary dinner party. You can’t go wrong with Tip of The Tongue. Oh and did I mention he came in on budget despite my growing guest list.

Tied the knot last August on Fire Island… Scott and his team were fantastic, handled everything from planning menus, estimating liquor, as well as estimating the freight charges to have EVERYTHING packed and shipped on a ferry to the island, which obviously costs more than your typical NYC wedding. The staff and the day-​of-​wedding coordinator were on top of everything, and all my guests later raved about the tapas-​style passed hors d’oervres, and how the food kept coming and the champagne flowing! It was my wedding to remember and worth every penny.

Let me start by saying this review is 4 months over due. My hubby and I used TIp of the Tongue as our wedding caterer back in August 2013 and from the moment I spoke to Scott I knew we were a match. I wanted a very non-​conventional wedding in a funky space with no seated dinner and he totally got it. He had so many suggestion regarding décor, food and just overall planning that I don’t know what I would have done without him.
Once we hammered out a menu the tasting was held, I thought it was so nice that he did wine pairings with the food even though my venue included the bar. Now for the food, you should know my husband is a traditional West Indian and I was kinda nervous about him liking my menu choices but after tasting it all we were stuffed and wanting for more. Everything was so yummy.
The day of our wedding Scott produced everything as promised. Our cocktail style reception left no one hungry thanks to wonderful servers, portions and varied dishes.
He came in on budget, food was amazing and presentation was too. People are still talking about the food.
In short if what you value is a positive rapport with you vendor, amazing food and unique presentation go with Tip of the Tongue. Scott is amazing and funny to boot!!!
***I must add that usually the bride and groom never eat but we did, Scott ensured that we tasted EVERYTHING, whenever something came out a server shadowed us until we ate. It was so cute and thoughtful. Oh and did I mention we went home with a huge platter of food to enjoy the next day.

Note-​If there were small negatives I can’t even recall– he was so responsive, polite and helpful every step of the way.

Do you notice that all 3 reviews are perfect? If you check out the unfiltered reviews you will see a couple of negative ones and even one that was GOOD but apparently since it gave 3 stars instead of 5 it wasn’t good enough for tip of the tongue. Obviously these Guys are partnered up with Unilocal in some way. They have someone on the staff making sure that only perfect reviews get published. I’ve used this catering service before and I wasn’t a fan but I’m giving it a 5 star review because I know anything less will not be seen. My previous review was taken down. It really is a shame that people aren’t getting honest reviews about this business.

As a venue manager in Manhattan, I have worked with a good number of caterers and restaurants in NYC. Tip of the Tongue is absolutely top echelon. The food is fantastic and the presentation is unparalleled.
When clients ask me for recommendations, Tip of the Tongue is always the first caterer that comes to mind. Scott Fagan and his team are truly great. Not only are they friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to make sure the client gets everything they want and need. TOTT really takes the time to make their clients feel like all bases are covered and there will be nothing to worry about on event day. Personally, I love when they work in my space because I don’t have to worry about a single thing. They are always professional, timely, and producing mouth watering dishes!
For any event, corporate or social, Tip of the Tongue is the caterer you want.

We used Scott and his team for our Wedding in May 2012. Do not hesitate to use this caterer. I have never received so many compliments on the quality of the food, the variety of the food, the presentation of the food and of the whole venue and his wonderful catering staff. They know exactly what they are doing and you can feel confident about releasing all control over to Scott and his team.
I was a bit nervous, since I never hired a caterer before, but Scott did a wonderful job and I could not be more pleased. There was not one complaint from anyone. He is truly an excellent caterer.
