The Ice Cream House

The workers were rude, I asked one of them how much a sandwich cost and he told that it’s very expensive and he started making jokes in Spanish behind the counter about me. when I told the man behind the register he made a joke that he’s going to fire him. I just walked out. its a shame because I heard their ice cream Is good.

This bright happy ice cream castle emerges out of nowhere in a pit of darkness. Great ice cream, fun Hassidic music, it’s really such a surprise. I found myself going there every night around 11pm. Even the babies are still out at that time. There is an occasional wait but the service is very good. You will be hooked.

I live in the neighborhood and my rent just went up. I can totally justify the increase after eating at this place for the first time. I’m guessing the more reviews this place gets the more people will be in line the next time i go there and the more expensive it will become. It’s still worth it for me to write this review just to know it will be there regardless of the price and crowd.
So, It’s at the end of church avenue where you would more likely expect to be mugged than to be served ice cream. The store is huge. It’s almost kitchy and almost cartoonish décor is admirably bizarre against the jewish religious music that was playing while i was there. The choices seem endless. There was even a salad bar, a juice bar and pastries. I do not partake in the dairy so the non-​dairy choices here blew my mind.
They’re open late and they have parking spots on their premises. I’m so impressed. and full of sugar.

Vegan sweet tooth here. Absolutely loved everything about the Sunday I ordered. Huge portion size with three toppings for $ 6! Awesome! And it tastes amazing. I got cookie dough and peanut butter cup with hot fudge chocolate sprinkles and chocolate chips. Only reason for four stars is my husband said the regular dairy ice cream was gritty. No complaints here though!

They get 5 stars just for their great hours. I love when places are open late. Nothing beats a closing time of 11:59pm on Sunday nights. Also great ice cream Tiramisu is my personal favorite. Also for vegans they have dairy free ice cream. The best of both worlds.

If you are vegan, run here. As fast as humanly possible.
