This is not Suzy Nail anymore, it has been bought by new people. Price went up and service went down. Got a terrible mani/​pedi last night. Cuticles are peeling all over, polish used on toes feels like it has sand in it! She waxed my lip and chin and didn’t even blow on the wax first, also left my lip and chin very sticky by not cleaning properly afterward.

Not the «fancy» nail salon. Service was decent. The ladies dng the mani pedi were cheerful and friendly. Price is not bad $ 17 for mani pedi. Place is small. So if u hear half an hour wait, just let them know u ll be back. Take a walk on 86^th and be back in AN HOUR!

Great price for a mani/​pedi (17) and they do a decent job. This isn’t a fancy spa type place by any means but it always lasts.

Came here for a manicure the nail polish was terrible. Less then 48 hours my nails were all chipped and it tried all lumpy. I went back to ask them to re polish and the owner «Suzy» gave me a difficult time, when I asked her just to remove it she told me no. I will never go back again.

Great price ($ 17) for a very nice mani/​pedi. $ 6 for eyebrow wax. Staff was friendly. Will be back!

Never been to a nail salon where they treat you as nice as they do here. Pricing is extremely well, especially with mani-​pedi for 15 $ is a steal. Overall one of my favorite spots to do my nails in bayridge.

$ 15 mani/​pedi, I was immediately drawn. I should’ve known better. I mean, it’s not bad but it’s most definitely not great. Well, the staff’s attitude was great and upbeat. They were all nice and sweet but the actual job? Not so much.
It’s chipping on my way home and theres a ton of air bubbles and dents. From far away it looks nice but upclose it was just kind of upsetting to look at. I picked Fiji by Essie and it’s a gorgeous color but their polish was also getting really old and gooey.
So overall, it was a good job before the paint job, the pedicure, massaging and cuticle care (cuticle care was ok) but you get what you pay for.

Couldn’t ask for a better experience! I went in on a saturday morning. they greeted me at the door and took me right away. My lady was super sweet and thorough. She also told me up front that the color i chose was extra money because of the brand (i promptly switched colors. :). She reminded me to not forget my bag which i had hung up and brought it over to me. It’s the little things like that that make me feel like coming back. This place «nailed» it!

One of the shittest pedi and mani ever. The woman did a really half ass job and trust me my expectation was little to none and she still managed to disappoint. Not only that they talk shit about their customers infront of them in Chinese (I am Chinese) so unfortunately I understand all the nasty thing that comes out of their mouth. This place is dirty and there are plenty of other affordable places in the area, walk the extra block and save yourself the headache and infection.

My favorite place to get a manicure, I’ve been going for years. They take great care of old and new customers. They do all services very well.

Just went to Suzy’s recently, since I recalled their $ 15 mani/​pedi special (for ANY day of the week, unlike most places that are only during times where you’re probably at work/​school…). Figured I couldn’t beat the price. The first time I went to Suzy’s, it was a Friday during the summer, so naturally it was packed, especially since its a rather small salon (about 4 stations for manicures, 4 stations for pedicures). Due to the overwhelming amount of girls coming in, the ladies rushed your service and therefore it wasn’t that great of an experience.
I hadn’t planned on returning, but I’m glad I did. This recent trip was fantastic. As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted by the kind ladies. After I picked my color, my manicurist instantly put my purse in the next chair for me, rolled up my jeans (I could have did all this myself, ha), and then turned on the massage chair for me. I kicked back with a magazine, relaxed, & watched some of General Hospital on TV. There were 2 other ladies in there when I arrived, and 2 other ladies when I left. So it wasn’t a rushed experience like the last time.
She did a fantastic job on both the manicure and pedicure, and when she was done, brought me over to the dryer, gave me a short back massage, and helped me roll down my jeans and get my shoes & purse. She was super attentive.
The only thing that bothered me slightly was when I went to tip her. I gave her the same amount I normally give a manicurist (which I think is a perfectly reasonable amount), instead of smiling and saying «thank you», she just looked at it and basically said «hmm, okay.». Weird.
Anyway, I am a new fan of Suzy’s. I’ll try to come back again if I have the opportunity to sneak in a mani/​pedi during off-​hours. Because after 4pm on any day, its sure to be packed.

The royal treatment for $ 15. Mu sister was getting a mani and facial at Pilo Arts down the street and they were booked so I ended up here. It seems to be called «Eva» but it’s the same address. Flawless spa pedi and manicure for $ 15, plus fantastic back and neck massage while I was under the dryers. They had a good movie on the tv too. What else can I ask for?

I am going to move back to Astoria simply for a good nail salon.
I have tried three nail places in Bay Ridge, all terrible. At least Suzy’s is cheap. But you get what you pay for, and after giving them numerous chances (based on raves from a source that shall remain nameless) not only am I never going back, but I have been inspired to post about my negative experiences.
I have normally gone for the $ 15 mani/​pedi special, which is a great deal. However, the quality of the service is so tremendously hit-​or-​miss, and 5 out of the 6 times that I have been here I have left unhappy (so shame on me for returning, I know).
Today I went for a shellac mani/​pedi. I decided to splurge because of a last minute vacation this weekend, and I thought that because I was getting shellac and paying $ 60 for the mani/​pedi that I would get better quality– I was wrong. Very wrong.
While my toes look alright, I haven’t stopped staring at my nails in disbelief. I asked for a French manicure on my hands. I have gotten a French shellac manicure at Nu Tech nails in Astoria for the same price, and it was beautiful. My nails today from Suzy’s? Not so much. The amount of layers of polish have made my nails strangely thick, not to mention the rifts and bubbles in the white part. I explained this to the nail tech in as many ways as I possibly could and the only response I got was awkward giggling.
I am upset that, because of the long-​lasting nature of shellac manicures that normally make them so attractive, I will be staring at the nasty manicure and getting frustrated at the low quality of Suzy’s over, and over again.
I felt too bad to ask her to take the polish off of my nails and to only charge me for the pedicure, as she spent an hour «working» on them. I prefer passive-​aggressive Unilocal posts.
So for next time, I will schlep across three boroughs to Pema Nails and Nu Tech Nails in Astoria where the girls speak better English, are friendlier, and the quality of the manicures, pedicures and waxing is by far superior. Until my lease in Bay Ridge is up, that is.

$ 15 for a mani/​pedi all the time, not just that time when you are at work/​school/​life…
and the place is actually clean! They have electronic massage chairs while you get a pedicure and while you sit under the dryer, one of the manicurists will give you a neck and shoulder massage… all included in your $ 15 mani/​pedi special… this makes me happy! This is my new salon of choice.

I went to Suzy’s pretty regularly for the 5 years I lived in Bay Ridge. That being said, it took me over a year of going there before I became a «regular.» That means you get the big smile and «hello» when you walk in; they try not to make you wait and they care what you think. Prior to that I had some less than stellar service and some bad attitudes. Once the girl doing my nails asked me where my friend (who sometimes came with me) was and then proceeded to tell me that the staff didn’t like her because she is too picky and doesn’t tip well. If you get to know these ladies they will be good to you but you have to give them a while to warm up. If you’re not willing to do that you can go somewhere else but it’s either going to cost more or not be as nice of a mani/​pedi.

I do believe I’m a one time only here. Nails are bubbly and there’s paint on my cuticles. For $ 15 you get pretty much get no fuss, no muss, but I got muss. At least there are plenty of other nail salons to chose from in Bay Ridge.

You can’t beat a $ 15 mani/​pedi, and these ladies do a great job with it. I’ve been twice so far, and have always experienced excellent service. Went once on a Thursday and once on a Saturday — both times I was seated for my pedicure as soon as I walked in the door. They take great care of my feet (and their massage chairs do an awesome job on my lower back!) and the polish always holds up really well. I’ve had better hand and foot massages, but you can’t expect perfection for the price you’re paying.
There’s also just a really good atmosphere in the salon — you can tell that this is a place for regulars, and it’s always open and friendly. Both times, I’ve had one lady do my entire pedicure and most of the manicure, and then Suzy comes over to paint my nails. She also gives one of the best neck/​upper back massages I’ve ever had — just the thing for when I’m waiting for my nails to dry — and no extra charge!
All in all, this place can’t be beat.

I needed a mani pedi bad. Its flip flop season and these bad boys needed some work done. I decided to go to Suzy Nail Salon, the price was right $ 15 for a mani pedi on a Saturday is pretty awesome. The place was full but my friends and I were able to get 2 seats at the nail station and one at the foot station. I got Suzy and she did a great job with my nails, i felt she didn’t do such a great job with my toes. She seemed rushed because there were people who wanted to be waxed and they were asking her all these questions. I didnt get my foot, leg or back massaged but I’m paying $ 15 I dont really expect much. A week later the polish is still on and it looks great. I would go back but maybe I might try another person and see if I can get a massage.

Mani/​Pedi for $ 15. End result is nice, worth $ 15 only. Service and clealiness feels abit shoddy. The hand and leg massage was pretty pathetic compared to the other salons. The tools don’t look like they get cleaned between each client. Those are the gripes. On the other hand, pretty selection of nail colors and convenient location.
