I highly recommend these guys! I first met Amy and her team when they started walking my dog Hugh six years ago. Soon after I adopted my wonderful, sweet pup Ruby from her rescue. When I recently learned they started doing boarding, too, I was psyched!!! I’m not always comfortable with the idea of leaving my little guys at a boarding facility (you hear such horror stories and Ruby has a few trust issues based on her past owner) but I know how fantastic Amy is from years of experience, so I felt super comfortable right away. She’s a true pro and dog lover and would only choose the best to love and care for Hugh and Ruby!!! All my experiences with the Super Mutts team have been awesome, not to mention super convenient and helpful when I have to stay late at work or travel last minute.

We just went through the process of rescuing a dog for the first time with Sugar Mutts Rescue and it could not have worked out any better. We found our little buddy through Instagram and then scheduled to meet him in person. Each step of the way everyone was very helpful and genuine. Once we agreed to adopt him Amy went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. She came to the vet with us and answered all of our questions the first few weeks. If you are looking to adopt a dog I highly recommend going through Sugar Mutts Rescue.

I can’t tell you how lucky we were to meet Amy over 5 years ago when we got our Bulldog. Any pet owner will tell you how precious their animal is and also how difficult it is to find someone who will love and care for your pet as if it were their own. Well Amy is THAT person! I have never worried about the well being of my pet in her care as I know that she will always put the needs of animals before her own. She has been a godsend to us and our fur baby.
We live in Williamsburg but make the trek out to Sugar Mutts in Bushwick as we can rest assured that or pet is receiving the best care. What Amy does in rescuing animals and caring for them as her own should be enough to tell you how selfless she can be. There are choices in North Brooklyn (and I have used a few) but by far this should be your first and only choice.

I’m not sure if I can articulate the magnitude of gratitude I have for Sugar Mutts Rescue! When looking to adopt a dog, I started following SMR on Instagram and very soon afterwards found the perfect pup. Amy was super responsive to my (probably annoying) multiple calls and emails to see if he was still available for adoption. We met him the next day and took him home within the week. Turns out he is the perfect pup!
Amy was so sweet and has checked in on him a few times since. You can tell that a little piece of her heart stays with every dog she finds a home for. It’s truly inspiring to see someone doing such awesome things for these animals!

I have been bringing my dog Valentine to Sugar Mutt’s since July. It’s become a second home for her.
The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. They have been able to help advise me in the training and care of Valentine. They have alerted me to minor health issues that she’s had arise and often times will do their best to alleviate said issues.
With their pick up and drop off services I always come home to a very happy and tired dog. I would recommend Sugar Mutt’s services to any dog owner as they have made my life much much easier.

My bestie needs to boarded on a regular basis due to my travel schedule. No lie, this is the only boarding facility I’ve found in Brooklyn where my dog truly looks happy to see the staff, not to mentioned being in love with Amy. What a relief to find a place where I know he is safe and secure, surrounded by people who care about him. I met Amy when I scouted this place out before I boarded and recognized her as someone who was trustworthy and had the best intentions for dogs. This is also a rescue shelter so knowing that boarding fees (which are very reasonable) are going back into rescue work is a total win-​win. Amy and the staff have been very flexible in regards to my schedule and are always willing to work with me which has not been the case with other facilities I’ve used.

Moving my dog here for boarding has been one of the best decisions I’ve made all year.

Hey, I’m not too cool to admit I’m a little obsessive and over-​protective about my dog. I haven’t made her internet famous or anything (even though she’s totally cute enough), but she does have health insurance and we’re very selective about who she hangs out with at daycare and on walks.
She’s been hanging with Sugarmutts for daycare and walks for a little over a year now – and Amy and her team are truly amazing. This is a group of people who really understand dogs and get that they are not all alike. Big, small, shy, or social, the Sugarmutts team is really in-​tune with every dog’s unique personality and needs. My high-​energy super-​social corgi comes home from daycare completely tuckered out and chill every time.
We don’t have standard 9 – 5 jobs and Amy is so helpful, flexible, and easy to coordinate with. One of the most convenient options is their pick-​up and drop-​off service. An absolute life-​saver when an un-​predictably long workday happens.
Lastly, they just care more. You can tell everyone at Sugarmutss has a real love for dogs. You can see it in how much they care for their rescues as well as their daycare friends.
PS I’ve definitely caught them baby talking to my dog when they didn’t know I was there more than a couple times.

I moved into the neighborhood a couple months ago and have been so fortunate to have found Sugar Mutts just a few blocks from my house. My little rescue dog is shy around other dogs and strangers, and she hadn’t really been in daycare… so I wasn’t sure what I would do with her during my new daily commute. There was no need to worry though, as Amy and the Sugar Mutts staff have been wonderful in helping her to adapt to her new daycare environment. You can tell that everyone really cares about these dogs’ wellbeing and are very attentive to their special needs and unique personalities. I can see my dog’s confidence and comfort level has grown in just a short amount of time, and that is all because of Amy and her fantastic team. Sugar Mutts has been a godsend for me and I would recommend it to any other dog lover out there!

Amy has been walking our dog Chauncey for many years now, and when she opened the new Sugar Mutts facility, we were among the first to sign up for day care. Since he’s been spending his days at Sugar Mutts, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Chauncey happier, more energetic, or better socialized. It’s clear he’s so excited to go see all of his friends every morning and that Amy and her staff take great care of the little guy. Sugar Mutts has become such a second home for Chauncey that we felt absolutely no hesitation about boarding him with Amy and crew while we were out of town on a fairly long trip recently. Based on the photos we saw of him while we were gone, I’d say he was not only comfortable but also having the time of his life. On top of it all, it’s great knowing that our money helps support the important work Sugar Mutts does in rescuing dogs who need homes. All in all, I could not recommend Sugar Mutts more enthusiastically.

I found Sugar Mutts on the internet a few weeks ago and decided to stop by with my roommates. The moment I set foot inside I was greeted by a whole bunch of small and medium dogs and it was awesome, but when I asked to see the rest of them they brought me to where they were keeping their biggest guys. And I found my new best friend!
I wrote my application immediately and Amy and the staff were extremely friendly and happy to let me come visit Messi (formerly Cooper) on daily basis until they finalized the decision to let me bring this guy home!
Amy has been extremely attentive to my pup’s needs and never hesitated to give me a hand.

Amy and the Sugar Mutts team saved me. I moved from LA a couple years ago, and my dog did NOT adjust well to all the changes. I couldn’t bring him to work at my new job, and it was more hours than before. It was all just too much change for my poor pup.
First, I tried a few of the bigger dog walking services, but they just weren’t personable enough and my dog just couldn’t get comfortable. I was constantly getting calls and would have to rush home. It was a problem and I was extremely stressed out. I tried daycare, but they are so small and crowded, he hated it.
Then someone gave me Amy’s number — and everything changed!
She and her team are true dog lovers. My dog instantly warmed up to her. Two years later, I think he likes her more than he likes me! He does walks some days, and daycare others. I trust her completely, and am incredibly grateful for her commitment and love for my dog. I know he’s thrilled too… his tail wags a lot more now than it did when we first moved to the east coast.
If you are looking for a place you can trust, and a place your dog will feel loved by an entire team of loving people — look no further. Sugar Mutts is the best. (I know, I tried them all!)

LOVE THEM! I rescued sundance (previously Lewis) from this rescue. I randomly found them when I was in the neighborhood, popped in to see what dogs they had for adoption. I lost my last rescue in Jan of this year and wasn’t sure if I was ready to adopt another dog. They let me visit as many times as j wanted. Walk the dogs. Get a feel of the dogs there as well as the type of business they ran. I go off feeling 90% of the time. sundance didn’t show up to their rescue till a few weeks after I had started going to sugar mutts. They told me they rescued him from a kill shelter down south :-(. He was so cute but I was hesitant, I cont to go and see him and see his temperament and if there was any attachment to me. They offer the option to foster or adopt so I asked if I was able to foster with the option of adoption. I said it was more for me to make sure that I was ready to have another dog and that I wouldn’t be sad and miss my other rescue even more. They were fine with it and by the end of the day of the next day I knew I had to keep him!
I love him dearly. He’s got a great temperament and resembles a younger version of my dog that passed. I can’t imagine not having him around and I’m so happy that I found him! The application process was simple and quick and I recommend everyone to adopt/​rescue a dog. They will also help you find a specific type of dog if you have a preference.

I have been involved with SugarMuttsRescue since February 2015 when I adopted my little Chihuahua mix Keira. I have nothing but raving reviews for this organization and the people involved in it. Owner Amy went far and beyond in assisting me in the adoption process. From hand picking the perfect match for me to answering all my questions about dog care (I’m a rookie), I couldn’t be happier with the service! Since they opened their daycare place, Keira goes there 4 – 5 times per week, and our experience has been nothing but wonderful. The facilities are impeccable and all staff are competent, friendly and very kind with the dogs. They supervise the dogs at all times and keep them separate as needed. Keira has pick-​up and delivery service directly from and to her crate. It can’t get better than that. Amy often sends or posts pics or vids of daycare doggie action, which is very reassuring. You can’t find a better dog rescue organization or daycare than SugarMuttsRescue. To top it all, prices are very competitive. This is one great organization that deserves anyone’s support! If you are looking to adopt a dog or find suitable daycare for your dog, you can’t go wrong with SugarMuttsRescue and I am sure you will be very happy with their services!

I recently checked out their awesome new boarding and daycare facility and met the sweetest adoptable dogs. Best of all, all profits go directly back into their animal rescue! And they will pick up and drop off your dogs of you can’t bring them yourself! Win Win Win!

My husband and I were volunteering at a dog shelter and after a year decided to get a puppy of our own. Amy and Sugar Mutts came highly recommended from several of the other volunteers. The moment we Amy, we knew it was going to be a perfect fit! 2+ years later she has been our dog walker, day care, boarder and trusted 2^nd parent to our dog, Roux.
She’s has been wonderful to work with over the past few years. Between our hectic schedules, last minute requests and mishaps, she has always been extremely helpful. Amy goes above and beyond to make sure that all of the dogs she takes care of our treated well and loved.
As soon as she opened the larger rescue and began boarding we were so excited. This meant we could confidently board our dog, knowing she would be in good hands and get to play with the awesome rescues.

Sugar Mutts is awesome! We adopted our puppy 2+ years ago and have used Sugar Mutts as our dog walking service ever since. The service is outstanding — everyone is super friendly and scheduling/​rescheduling is super easy. Never had a problem having to change the walk schedule if something changes with my work — even the same day I can text Amy and rearrange things without a problem.
And if you are thinking of adopting a dog — Sugar Mutts makes this process extremely easy. When we met our puppy for the first time they suggested that we foster her for two weeks to make sure that it was a good match. We didn’t last a week — ended up adopting our pup the next weekend. I’m thankful everyday that they rescued my puppy and brought her into our lives — what they are doing is really special.
And the new space is great! Super clean and filled with happy dogs that can run and play all day.

Amy and Sugar Mutts have been walking my dog for close to 5 years now and I trust them implicitly! In fact, Amy is one of the very few people that my shy dog will even go out with, she really spend the time with her to build the trust that my rescue dog needs.
In the last few years I have also fostered many of the dogs that have come through Sugar Mutts and it’s been a really wonderful experience. All the dogs get lots of individual attention and care so that when a foster is suggested for me I know that they have considered that this dog will fit into my home. I also love that Amy always has open and welcome communication so I feel supported during the foster process. And in the end I know that all of my foster dogs have gone to homes that really are perfect for them :)
The new facility is great! I’ve spent a bunch of time there since it opened and it’s clean and spacious and all of the animals are super loved and cared for! It’s a haven for both shelter dogs, daycare dogs and boarders.

Sugar mutts rescue is FANTASTIC. Amy and her staff love the dogs and she is really great at making adoption secure but not complicated. I found my dog through sugar mutts rescue after reaching for few months at other rescues which either were making the process too complicated or they were not responsive at all. Amy accommodates her time so the adoption takes place at everyones convenience, really secures that the dog will be happy and safe in its new home and she checks in with the adoptive parents after the adoption has taken place.
Dogs at her rescue are safe, happy, well taken care of and prospective parents are reasonably screened and accommodated for the adoption.

I just adopted my new dog from the crew down at Sugar Mutts and continue to use them for dog walking services and couldn’t be happier. No problems with walking cancellations if I happen to be home to take care of the pooch myself on a given day, and during the adoption process they encouraged me to just foster to start to make the whole thing way less-​stress as somebody who was apprehensive about adopting a dog in the city.
