After a bad experience when the head baker was screaming at the new girl at the register, all other experiences have been great. The cakes and cupcakes are the best I’ve had in the city. Cookies are delicious and the dogs go crazy for the dog treats.

This is as good as it gets. Their cakes are phenomenal. But, their breakfast dishes are unreal. The Strata is so good; they use touches of jam for sweetness with the savory. Salt and Pepper Croissants. I could live here. I would be 700 pounds, but it may be my calling!

Cute place, lots of dessert options that are all made in house– muffins, cupcakes, cookies, chocolates, etc. the dark chocolate covered caramel was lovely– rich, dark, slightly salty, and not too sweet.

I’m giving 4 stars because until recently I thought this place was a little expensive for my tastes, but I recently bought a birthday cake here and had an amazing experience with Penny, the owner. She went above and beyond on making me a beautiful cake.
I ordered a large red velvet cake with cream cheese dressing. I didn’t specify decorations or anything, so imagine my surprise when this BEAUTIFUL cake was made.
There were multiple comments at my roommate’s birthday party –
«This is literally the best cake I’ve EVER had»
«This is crazy good»
«This is the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen»
etc etc
Of course everyone had second helpings… and then third helpings…

You will not find a nicer group of people anywhere and everything is outstanding! Especially the gooey butter cake. Try it you will love it!

4 – 5 stars for the food. They make a great cake!
3 stars for the price, even a tiny caramel chew although great tasting is $ 1.75 (adds up if you get more than one!). Small interior, just 2 – 3 small tables. Although great food, the owner/​chef can come across as gruff. They forgot to ask me for my cc to pay for a cake in advance, this was a Monday night. I had no fewer then three calls from them by the next day requesting the credit card and yet the cake was not done when i went to get it several days later. She was not the most friendly to me when I went to get it or on subsequent visits. Service is everything.

I cannot walk by this wonderful little shop without at least getting a cup of coffee. Toby’s Estate is my favorite coffee, and I was so pleased to find out that this bakery serves it! Every time I go in, the staff is super friendly and gives me a little sample of something to try. The gooey butter cake and the chocolate croissant bread pudding are standouts.

Just came back for the umpteenth time. The gooey butter cake is so good. It gives Momofuku’s crack pie a serious run for its money. If you want a birthday cake or wedding cake in Williamsburg, this boutique shop is the only place to order from.

Great cupcakes! I ordered 2 dozen cupcakes for a baby shower I was hosting last weekend. Order and pick up were very easy, and the cupcakes were delicious. I had a great experience at Sugar Couture and would highly recommend.

Closed 90 minutes early tonight, so I wasn’t able to pick up a cake for a party I had planned, no explanation as to why they were closed — just a locked door with staff inside who would not open it.

What a great little place. Underrated for sure! The coffee is good, the chai is good, but the pastries are SPECTACULAR. I got my boyfriend a smoked peanut butter cookie the other day, and I don’t even like peanut butter, but that was a bombass cookie. The foccaccia bread is divine — anything with artichoke and cheese on it sells me immediately. The ham/​apple croissants are great. Friendly staff, great selection. My point is, try this place. You won’t be disappointed.

It’s really difficult to decide what to order here, unless you have issues being disciplined when it comes to sugar consumption… Like me, and order a bit of this and a lot of that…
There will be enough that captures your eye from a salt and pepper croissant to peanut butter cookies or Macarons or even macaroons.
I think the baker is pretty accomplished to pull off all of this while ensuring creative tweaks here and there: like raisins in the fudgy dark chocolate pecan brownie or the chocolate croissant bread pudding.
If you have issues with delayed gratification — like me — it would be advisable to skip the goods in the refrigerated case and stick with room temperature goods for I could barely sink my teeth into the cupcake 15 minute after purchase without escaping the feeling of having eaten a stick of butter…
That said, I’m really impressed by the room temperature baked goods with my favorite being the breakfast cookie — it’s almost like cookie dough with almonds and chocolate and made me think of it as a quality marzipan product.
All in all, a pretty impressive addition to a neighborhood that has Blue Stove as well.

I’m posting on behalf of my dog. Every time I pull out one of their peanut butter bone-​shaped fresh baked treats he does this insane elaborate dance that involves jumping up and down, spinning around, and generally freaking out. I’ve never seen him so happy eating anything, I mean damn. The first several times I thought it just meant he wanted the baked treat but now I realize he also wanted me to post a review on Unilocal.
PS also I love the lunch food. I mean the people lunch food.

Great little spot! Came here on a Wednesday, middle of the day with some family. My step sis was in from Chicago and it was a beautiful day and the sweets were callin’ us! Got a cupcake and a ice chai — couldn’t ask for more. Lovely vibe. Great butter cream and a wonderful counter lass. I will definitely return. Just come in to take a look at the cakes… amazing. Clearly they’re baker is skilled.

Gosh I love Graham from Blue Stove to La Locanda and of course, Mothers so when ambling up the Ave to Blue Stove, there’s this new joint– more great sweets. While I saved the pie for Blue Stove, I took some housemade chocolates home.
Amazing– top of the line, definitely couture quality. Graham always surprises!

Sweet or savory. I can’t decide what’s best. This little shop is quickly becoming a favorite spot of mine for a Sunday afternoon treat. Macaroons, scones, cupcakes and egg bake dishes — all superb.
I’m waiting for a special occasion to buy on of the small sized cakes they have. They seem to be the perfect size for 2.
Folks have commented about the prices, however, I think the costs are fair. You can tell everything is made with love and attention. Plus there are some good deals — a scone for $ 1.75 (ish).

Their gooey butter cake is phenomenally indulgent and far better than the spot specializing in it at Berg’n and it’s a ridiculous size for a great price, plus super friendly staff (who commended me on my choice). Tad worried about the lack of other customers there though, but they seem new.

Penny was great! I asked and she delivered. I wanted a cake made the same model as my fathers 1958 MG and that is exactly what she gave me. Everyone loved the cake it was beautiful. Not only was it beautiful it tasted great. Penny is very confident about her work and helps you every step of the way making your cake vision come to life. Loved it!

Delicious new bakery I’m thankful for. Been dreaming of the day a bakery would open up in the area. Thank you a million. Granted the décor, unfortunately must say, needs to be taken up a notch (a wee bit cheesy) but very clean.

TRY THE GOOEY BUTTER CAKE!!! OMG. Best thing ever. It’s like a sugar cookie on steroids. The kind of gooey crispy sugar cookie I’m always searching for and can’t find.
The chocolate croissant pudding bar thing is goood too. Thumbs up

Yummmmmy! Lémon cupcakes, cortados, mini cakes and that confounding bacon jam croissant are all worthy of my ****200^th review****!!!
Recently, had a friend recommend this place and Im so glad I obliged. If it werent for thé fact that my hands were full of goods, I think I could have taken a million pictures of this cozy space and all thé goods it holds. Worth mentioning that it is wheelchair accessible as well. Clean, organized and well spaced out are all great descriptors of this venue.
The décor is modern, yet quaint, with mini chandelier lights, Blue paint and marble tables which are strangely reminiscent of a large home kitchen. Chef-​owner, Penny, is Sweet as pie (see what I did there) but dont let that sweetness fool you as she makes savory treats appear with a slight of hand.
Clearly, I could gush on and on but your best bet is to go try it for yourself. I highly doubt you will leave disappointed.
