Established in 2014.

Subaltern Coffee Co. is a coffee experience and social organization built around the concept of community, art, activism, and startup culture in Brooklyn’s Bedford Stuyvesant. The name ‘Subaltern’ itself is an ode to those on the margins of society, and as such, we use it with respect and embrace it and have designed Subaltern Coffee Co. to be an inclusive space for individuals from all walks of life. It is a space where one can come read from our library, meet with friends, work on individual or group projects, work on their startup, or simply relax and enjoy Subaltern Coffee Co.‘s ‘coffee culture.’
