This review is a little overdue. I walked into staples at 5pm on 11÷08÷15 in need of new resumes. The girl behind the counter was dressed exceptionally and greeted me warmly. I believe her name was Danielle. I asked her to recommend a paper for printing and she recommended a woven off white paper stating it looked more professional and was more easily readable. I opted for it and she accessed my document through an email (as I didn’t have a USB handy). She printed one copy on plain paper so I could see the formatting before committing to making several copies.
Overall:
Wait time was very reasonable
Staff was knowledgeable and patient
Staff was professional in dress and attitude
The price of copies was surprisingly inexpensive

I would like to see the Regional Director step in and help with operational strategy for this store. Having kids as managers is not helping this location. The copy center area is in dire need of a better operational plan. There should be more than one kiosk and printer for printing quickly from a USB. If there’s a customer doing a big print job, no other customer can print from their USB. This makes no sense. The two staffers at the copy center counter are always consumed with print jobs, so there is no one to provide full customer service to in-​store customers, nor is anyone maintaining all of the equipment during the course of the day. Perhaps a third person is needed to keep machines clean, filled with toner and paper, and provide a high quality of customer service and assistance to in-​store customers. This would certainly be a nice change of pace. Having a successful retail business requires providing excellent customer service to your in-​store customers.

Printing at this staples is very slow and low tech, you cannot print photoshop files properly from the self serve which means you have to wait for the very slow people behind the counter to deal with your print. It is worth it to make the trip to a Manhattan location if you need something printed of better yet kinkos

Do help you at 7am in the morning but literally nothing works.
There are many workers around, but I find that they can be more properly trained.
How can the clerks not scan a staples rewards when the scanner is right there staring back at me behind the counter?
The stuff here aren’t organized and it’s not easy to find something in stock.
Some things aren’t in stock.
P.S, they pointed me to the kiosk, but it didn’t work.

I gave this a star because of the attitude of the clerks and because it’s not possible to not give stars. I shouldve looked at his name tag ugh but ok so I came here recently to purchase printer ink and they seem so unorganized. The tag and price of the printer ink clearly read 37 if I remember clearly yet the clerk insisted it was 40. Since he was pretty doubtful about the price change, he called up the manager I’m guessing and had it sorted out. That I was fine with but then when he started checking out my items, the total came out to be 100 something. Fortunately, I calculated the total before hand and it came out to a total of around 67 something. Since I came with my mom we both insisted it was 67 and he decided to recheck it. In the end, he simply said that it was not his fault and didn’t even apologize. This came out to be rude and irresponsible. It sucks that this is the only staples closest to me.

I keep trying this location and continuously have lousy customer service. I went today to buy a day planner and found that they were in a disorganized pile on the floor while the shelves were being reorganized. No big deal. But when I asked one of the THREE employees working on the project about the planners, instead of offering to help, the person said «we don’t mind if you dig through the pile.»

Agree with other reviewers that customer service here is woeful. Not sure how to improve it though – obviously these kids are ‘temporary’ here; not intending on making Staples their career. How anyone would instill proper service mentality into cell-​phone obsessed tykes?
You just have to traipse in, and hunt down what you want. Don’t bother asking anyone. When you see what you’re looking for, just grab it, pay, and get the hell out.
Props for some of the cashier girls; a few of them are smokin’ hot. Not worth talking to, but still.

Have been going here every year of my school life and i have been pleased with the variety. The supplies are adorable and the store almost never runs out. The problems go to the lines at the store. They often are very long and the lack of cashiers really doesn’t help at all.

This Staples was having some problems when I visited. There were cardboard boxes of merch that needed to be put on shelves. The line went from one side of the building to the other. There was no staff available to help me find anything.
This place has it’s own parking, which was convenient. I just wish there was a better place around Bay Ridge to get office supplies.

I went in last Sunday for a router. They did not have my item in stock but the clerk was very helpful in finding alternatives and in suggesting I make an online order that could be delivered home or to the store.
The cashier was a tall, geeky kid with intense eyes. He kept trying to sell me insurance on the device. After saying no several times, I simply stopped talking until the transaction was done.
Next time you’re there avoid the Stephen King looking kid-you’ll thank me.

I used google while in the store rather then the employees. The plus is the shelves are always stocked and check out lines are friendly.

I know it is back to school shopping time but they really need to stock their shelves better. They are virtually out of all necessities. Seriously, they ran out of folders? Are you kidding me?
On a crazy busy day like today, they only have 2 registers open. The lines are curving around like a snake in the store.
I guess it is the mgmt’s fault. This Staples definitely leaves much to be desired…

Sometimes, you might find that one sales associate who doesn’t have an attitude and is actually willing to help you. The workers are mostly friendly, but just don’t depend on them to be super knowledgeable about the tech stuff.
Avoid going there during back to school. The lines are crazy and the store is a complete mess. At least the cashier was nice.

I really going to this Staples location in Bay Ridge, i mostly go to buy blank Sony CD-R’s and cases of bottled water because they always have good deals.
They also have a nice section of Christmas items that come in handy when you have to get co-​workers small gifrs.

I like the prices at my local Staples, and the convenience of having one so close to me, but it seems like I always run into delays in this store at check out time.
It’s very frustrating, and has been consistent over the last 10 years.
Even though my other local stores sometimes have delays, they move QUICKLY to adjust their register staff when they see more than 3 people waiting in line.
I went in here today, and they had a single register person working, and I was third in line, only to wait for at least 5 minutes.
Also…points off for luring me in with a coupon for a free ream of paper, only to be told that you need to mail in a rebate form.
That wasn’t clearly indicated. Not cool Staples. I left without purchasing anything.
One additional benefit of this place is they do have a very large parking lot, which is never filled and offers ample parking.
