History

Established in 2012.

SSJ Training Center* was founded by the Pierre family in October 2012. Hailing from Jamaica and Haiti, the Pierres are familiar with the challenges new immigrants face when they move to the United States in search of a better life for themselves and for their families. Their mission, through SSJ Training Center, is to help new New Yorkers gain the skills and information they need to achieve a better life. Since its founding in 2012, SSJ has grown from a single room to a full learning center and has served hundreds of New Yorkers, new and old. Whether you’re originally from the Caribbean, West Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, or New York City, we can help you succeed at reaching your educational and professional goals.

*SSJ Training Center was named after the three Pierre children — Samantha, Shawn, and Jamie.
