Rebecca is AMAZING!!! She was present for both of my sons’ births and if we were to have any more children, she would 100% be our doula again! I have so many wonderful things to say about Rebecca, hard to know where to begin, but here goes… Rebecca is completely supportive and non-​judgmental, which is so immensely important, as women are so often judged and critiqued for decisions related to pregnancy/​childbirth in our culture. Rebecca is so supportive and truly just wants what is best for her clients. I was induced with both boys and also had an epidural, and Rebecca was completely supportive about respecting my decisions. During labor and the delivery, Rebecca eased my discomfort through massage, supportive words, and helpful instructions. It was also so amazing to have her in the room throughout, as nursing staff doesn’t stay with you all the time, and my husband and I are clueless about how things are supposed to go (ie if the blood pressure machine started beeping etc), so having Rebecca by our side throughout was so reassuring and critical! Rebecca also has a natural gift for relating to people — she is intuitive, thoughtful, incredibly intelligent, and insightful. She remembers everything you tell her, and often makes wonderful connections and observations that make you really think about things on a deeper level. She truly listens and cares — it is obvious that this is not just a job, but a passion and true calling for Rebecca. It often felt as if she were my therapist/​doula! Rebecca is also a reiki practitioner and yoga instructor, and we did both reiki and yoga during both pregnancies, and it was such a wonderful delight. I plan to continue to see her for reiki, as it is so relaxing and rejuvenating, and Rebecca’s gift of insight and intuition really comes through during these sessions. I could go on and on about how incredible she is, but to sum it up, she is just an incredible doula and I couldn’t have been happier!

I used Rebecca again for my second child born this december. Once again, I had an amazing birth experience with her. She is very hands-​on, and seems to know exactly what will help you feel best throughout your labor, including use of aromatherapy and pressure points. She also visited us after, and once again wrote a very lovely and detailed birth story for is to keep. Rebecca is knowledgable, positive, and calm. I definitely recommend her to help you have the best labor possible!

Rebecca is amazing!!! The moment we saw Rebecca’s website and read her reviews we immediately knew in our hearts that she was the right doula for us, which was confirmed in our first meeting at a coffee shop with her. She’s warm, caring, loving, knowledgeable, and a great listener. From the get-​go, early in our pregnancy, she was there supporting us and informing us. She met with us a few times (in our home) to guide us and talk about the labor, our expectations, gave us helpful tidbits for me and my husband to use when labor started, etc. During the week I was due, she was in constant contact with me via phone and text and sending me/​us wonderful images and visualizations. Then, when labor finally started she was there guiding us by phone until we arrived at the hospital and she was right there with us through the entire journey. As it turned out, labor was quite long for us and our baby boy was in the wrong position, but I was able to deliver him not only naturally, but w/​o medication, and this was entirely due to Rebecca’s gentle and loving coaching with not only me, but with my husband. She was right there by our sides offering me massages with ice packs, teaching my husband how to help alleviate the pain, feeding me ice chips, etc. You name it, she was on it. My midwife commented, too, how awesome she was and that she was happy, because they worked well together. We truly couldn’t have done it without her guidance, presence, and energy! Not only did she give us the gift of helping us have the delivery we wanted; afterwards, she wrote this wonderful narrative of the birth experience for our son to read when he’s older. It’s truly a treasured and beautiful symbolic gift. Again, she’s awesome!

I found Rebecca after an intense search for a doula. I was pregnant with my second child and was determined to have a VBAC and felt that a doula would help make that happen. When we met with Rebecca my husband and I knew right away that we found the doula for us. Rebecca was warm, calm, and so informative. I honestly believe that I was able to have the birth that I was so desperate for because of her. She was there throughout my pregnancy whenever I needed her with insights and resources to help me feel confident about my second birthing experience. The day my daughter Isabella was born she was by my side and supported me throughout my labor. I know I couldn’t have gone as far as I did without her constant reassurances. The birth of my daughter was magical. It was truly one of the greatest moments of my life and I am so grateful to Rebecca for giving me that experience.

Rebecca was as good as doulas get! I am a high stress person, and even my husband noticed that being around Rebecca calmed me down– as we talked about the pregnancy, prepared for birth, and then during the birthing process itself! She was amazing during the birthing process itself, including the three hour pushing, in which she encouraged me all the way until the end. I also absolutely loved the birth story that she put together for our daughter Clara, which I will definitely share with her once she gets older. All around, Rebecca was a strong, deep, and lovely presence in the birth of our first child.

My husband, baby Willow and I were so fortunate to have Rebecca’s calming, reassuring and empowering support during the lead up to, during, and after Willow was born. I attended Rebecca’s prenatal yoga and meditation classes at Caribou baby for 6 weeks in the third trimester and always walked out with a smile. She is able to enrich your physical and emotional self as you prepare for labor. A rare and valuable skill. I gave birth to Willow at Weill Cornell Medical College. Rebecca calmly guided us through the often times rigid and somewhat impersonal care provided by hospitals in NYC, empowering my husband and I so we could make the best decisions for Willow’s health. I honestly can’t imagine or rather don’t want to imagine giving birth without Rebecca. I labored completely drug-​free for 10+ hours and gave birth to my daughter naturally, feeling everything. Rebecca did a wonderful job at keeping us informed and the nurses relaxed. Her presence was so calming for everyone involved. My 2 week old girl is even now reaping the benefits of a calm, fulfilled and very happy mum, which I credit Rebecca for too! She’s a gem.

If there was a 6^th star to give, we would.
We decided, very late, that a doula would be a good idea. We wanted continuity throughout the process, and knew that hospital shifts would change, so we might not have certainty on who we would deal with in the labor room. Since we were so late in deciding, we had difficulty finding a doula. We couldn’t have been luckier to find Rebecca!
From the initial visit with us to joining us in the labor room (at 9a on Dec 19^th) to Max’s arrival a 6am the next day (!), she was wonderful. She brought such a calming and positive energy and we relied on her experience and insights heavily. She was definitely the continuity we needed, as she was logging all the labor activity so there was no question as to what had happened when. She allowed me to grab some food without leaving my wife alone, and gave us a solid foundation for decision-​making late in the process. She was a cheerleader, a shoulder and a friend and we couldn’t recommend her higher. If you need a doula, or are even curious about what they do, please look no further and contact her.

i feel so fortunate to have the influence of sapienta oscen’s teas, tarot, yoga and energy. her presence is a delightful combination of intelligence and play. seeking healing with her is not simply highly recommended, but a must for balanced and calm living in new york city.
