Honestly, how can you complain about a place that has DOLLAR SLICES?! No, not the junky ones you find in the city while wasted at 3am. Actual decent $ 1 slices. & zeppoles are 3 for $ 1. People working there are humorous and entertaining. Worth a visit.

Food– Pretty good.
Prices– Not so good.

In the past, I found the food to taste good, I’ll give them that.
The problem has been that the owner doesn’t care about his customer’s comfort. We were having pizza in the middle of the afternoon and it was cold in the front of the restaurant so I went back to eat my pizza in the restaurant — no one was there — and they said the owner doesn’t allow that. Some of the staff are nice, and some are not.
I’m woman-​cotting this place.

I was really excited to try this restaurant! It has a nice room in the back that’s a little more «restaurant» than «pizza joint». I had the spaghetti, and honestly I was really disappointed! It was really watery, and the sauce was terrible. I expected quality Italian food, was severely disappointed. I would give one star, except my server was really sweet and made a bad experience as good as it could be.

Great service. Great staff. Great owners. Been going here since I was a kid. You have to check it out for yourself.

San Remo is a classic pizzeria joint in the front and they have an Italian restaurant in the back. Love their sicilian slice and the ZEPPOLE are BOMB! Best i’ve had! The main guys in the front are also really nice as well, they treat you like family.

This was my neighborhood pizza place for a year and I loved it. The pizza is solid (love the grandma slice) and I liked all the guys who worked here. It’s a no nonsense vibe that’s still kind, funny, and makes you feel a part of the community.

My HOME BASE PIZZA place. ATMOSPHERE on 100. The owner is hilarious and always has a joke for you when you come in, and if you come in near closing which I often do you’ll be laughing your pants off by the time you leave. Pizza– crust made to perfection. It’s flaky but not super flaky. The cheese pizza when it comes fresh out of the oven will make you melt as it melts as well. The zeppoli is life personified– round balls of sweetness that make your day. Oooh, and the garlic knots are always delicious. You don’t have to go far to satisfy your pizza craving if you live in the neighborhood. San Remo never disappoints. As always… Happy Eating.

FOOD
GREAT. Of course their pizza is a go to, but I would highly recommend their garlic knots, mozzarella sticks, chicken parmigiana and shrimp rolls. They’ll warm it up as much or as little as desired and everything has always been fresh. San Remo is trulyyyyy a staple on Cortelyou Road. I’ve relied on their pizza since 1998 when I got off the school bus in elementary school. Many other restaurants have come and gone but San Remo is here to stay.
SERVICE
Everyone at San Remo’s is cordial. When it is a little crowded, service naturally takes longer, but i’m always confident that if I decide to call my order in, it will be ready for pickup upon my arrival.

Cortelyou road has changed so much, with all of the chains moving into the area… don’t take this little gem for granted.

I was starving & wanted to try something different on Cortelyou Road. This place had so much traffic, I figured it was probably worth a shot.
I ordered chicken parmigiano on a roll but asked that the chicken come separate from the bread. (I hate soggy bread) AND it was great! Loved, loved it.
My boyfriend ordered a hamburger and loved it as well.
What really got me was the customer service. They were super attentive and very nice.
I definitely recommend this place and will return!

Regular pies are ok, nothing crazy but I typically get the buffalo chicken pizza. It’s very good.
The neighborhood is a little over saturated w pizza places but the guys are cool here. Nice clean spot to eat and enjoy your lunch on Cortelyou.

Staying in the hood visiting family and we wanted a bite to eat saw San Remo and went in for a slice and figured ordering a whole pie was the way to go. Ordered half cheese half pepperoni left and came back 30 minutes later all done pretty solid NY style pizza and all for about 20 bucks. Im a Chicago boy and although I’m a big fan of Chicago style pizza I wouldn’t be disappointed if a San Remo like pizza joint came to town.

I have a pretty good bullshit detector when it comes to pizzerias. That’s what eating at every major pizzeria in the NY metro area will do to ya (200+ on Unilocal and counting). I’d written off San Remo in the past as a place that got limited raves but was at best just a decent neighborhood place; many times people will build a place up online if it strikes a cord with them and it’s their «hometown place». This isn’t a bad thing, it just means that I go out of my way to try a place and end up wasting time. I was in the neighborhood buying beer, and I accidentally stumbled upon San Remo. Remembering the name and being hungry (as always), I went inside to grab a slice. It looks like a typical Brooklyn slice joint. The guys behind the counter were both Italian, and the younger one was busting the balls of the older one making the pizzas about how he always looks miserable. To be fair, the guy did not look like he was in a good mood. After some light banter I got a slice well done to go and ate it walking.
This ended up being the best NY street slice I’ve had in quite awhile. The crust itself had a nice fresh-​bread flavor, and it was crisp and light with some leopard spotting underneath. The sauce was flavorful with a little hint of garlic. The cheese was fresh and applied judiciously. The whole thing was balanced in a way that it was greater than the sum of its parts. It wasn’t necessary noteworthy in the sense that it had some exotic ingredient or was made by some guy from a stupid food show; it was just plain older fashioned great pizza. It’s scary how hard it is to find legitimately great NY slices now outside of a handful of places like this. If you live nearby, feel lucky.

I’ve lived in Flat…, ahem, Ditmas Park for about 12 years and have eaten San Remo’s pizza at least 25 times in that time. So I can say with some authority that their cheese pizza slices majorly suck balls. I’ve tried some of their other slices and they’re decent but how a pizza joint has yet to master the art of the slice in a city that LIVES for its pizza slices is beyond me.
I just got two slices of pizza and the crust was burnt, both had about a tablespoon — and I’m being generous here — of salty, generic tasting sauce and there was barely any cheese on either of them. It’s really my fault for patronizing them; I’ve ordered slices from them enough times to know i wouldn’t be getting anything better than terrible but hey, I was hungry and it’s in the neighborhood. Plus I keep chasing that elusive slice of cheesy nirvana I got from them once… hence the two stars. However, I now know that was an off day for these guys, as their regular output is firmly set on «mediocre.»
I know these guys can make a decent pie because the few times I’ve ordered pies from them, they weren’t bad. But it seems like they skimp on the takeout stuff to save money, which seems like poor business practice to me.
A word of warning to my fellow Ditmas Parkers: their Monday night $ 10 special sounds like a helluva deal but trust me, it is really not worth the money.

This place is great if you just want to grab a few slices to go or order a pie.
I’m never disappointed with the fresh mozzarella and cheese pie. It’s always fresh and hot when they deliver. Their zeppoles are a must! I get them every time.
Their food is great and they deliver fast.

I’ll start by saying I’m a fan of the lasagna. Their pizza rolls, chicken wings and salads are good too. But it’s their pizza that’s just ok. Overall, I’m usually happy with my good from here.
The delivery tends to take a long time. And going into the store is sometimes made into a hassle by the older gentleman at the counter. He’s just annoying. I think he thinks he’s funny but I find him to be unprofessional and his extra attitude unnecessary.

I’m underwhelmed.
I ordered the shrimp parmigiana hero and well, it just wasn’t good. It tasted like breaded shrimp and bread. I think the main problem with it was that it hardly had any sauce and it was very dry. Simply put, not tasty.
Despite my experience my family that lives in the area frequent this place and swear by it. I also noticed that the place was PACKED and the phone was ringing the whole time I was there. Obviously people like this place for whatever reason, id be willing to try a different item and write an updated review. But based on what I had today, they get 2.5 stars.
