RightRides for Women’s Safety is a grassroots nonprofit organization whose mission is to create safer communities by eliminating gender-based violence, from harassment to sexual assault. We accomplish this through direct services, safety advocacy and educational outreach engaging vulnerable communities through our programs, community organizing and collaborative efforts.
The central program, RightRides, along with the organization, were founded in the summer of 2004 in direct response to an increase in sexual assault against women walking home by themselves in North Brooklyn neighborhoods.
RightRides offers women and LGBTQ folks a free, late night ride home to address assault. Our motto is: Because Getting Home Safely Shouldn’t Be A Luxury. For more information on our programs, the neighborhoods and times RightRides operates, please see our website www.RightRides.org
We’re always seeking driving team volunteers and donations to keep this service running!
