The receptionist Shannon has poor customer service skills. She constantly made mistakes in her role as one of the financial coordinators at the Brooklyn office and was unapologetic about it.

My experience here was fantastic (especially coming from another place RSofNY, which was horrid). Dr. Josh Klien was patient and really explained everything very very well, his bedside manner was very gentle and he took the time to be very thorough with my diagnosis. He noticed something and had me referred to a specialist for further testing, he followed up and genuinely cared. I had the condition treated and became pregnant right away. So although I didn’t need fertility treatment, Dr. Klien was able to help me by caring for my condition as a whole and diligently referring me to another exceptional doctor. I would highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Klein is excellent. He’s clearly an excellent doctor and takes good care of his patients. He spent a lot of time talking to us, answering questions and being available for consultation between visits.
Unfortunately, working with Dr. Klein was actually a small part of our experience. This review is for our overall experience. This place really has a factory feel. There is no communication between departments. We were given an IVF coordinator during our first visit. We were told that she would shepherd us through the whole process. After we signed the papers to agree to start IVF, we never heard from her again. We were told we could call in to speak with a nurse if we had questions along the way. Okay, fine. That worked okay, but was different than what we were sold.
The mess they made of my insurance was really spectacular. I had to take the issue all the way up the chain to the head of the finance department. They kept submitting my claims to my old insurance company. I informed them of this mistake and they proceeded to make the same exact mistake four more times. Seriously.
The egg retrieval procedure was a truly horrible experience. I’m not kidding when I tell you that the doctor doing the procedures that day was blasting Steely Dan in the OR. I get that some doctors need music to focus and stay motivated. But, as a patient, it made for a reeeeeeeally unpleasant medical procedure.
We’ve since moved on to another fertility doctor — one with a much smaller, boutique feel — at Madison Women’s Health & Fertility. The doctors are all women and have made observations and asked questions that were never even mentioned at RMA. It’s a totally and completely different experience.

Working with the team at RMA was the best experience! I visited several RMA locations, and found a truly professional and seamless experience from start to finish. I would recommend RMA to anyone who is seeking help with fertility. Dr. Joshua Klein is an attentive, caring and a supportive physician.

Dr. Joshua Klein is absolutely the finest doctor I have ever seen. First, he is experienced, incredibly intelligent and completely up-​to-​date on the research findings, so I always felt comfortable that the advice he was giving us was 100 percent accurate. He not only gave great medical advice but was very good at quantifying our chances (ballpark) of success under different conditions, which was very helpful to me in managing my expectations and helping us make decisions. (Ultimately we deferred to him on decisions because we trusted him completely. Second, and perhaps more importantly, he has the most sensitive, compassionate and thoughtful manner. He never rushed through any of our (many) appointments and always took the time to consider and answer our (many) questions. I also really appreciated Dr. Klein’s availability outside of the office — he was available by email and responsive to all of our questions that way, which really worked for us.
While I know that he has hundreds of patients, I never felt like a number or just another patient. He always seemed to know exactly what was going on with me, which made me more comfortable. He gave us the feeling of genuinely caring about us and being invested in our desire to have a child despite the obstacles we were facing. He also used humor effectively and appropriately during some difficult moments that really helped my husband and me. Fertility problems obviously bring up a whole host of issues for the individuals and the couple and I feel like having Dr. Klein in our corner enabled us to deal with everything.
The office staff is also amazing. They are efficient, responsive and compassionate and go above and beyond to meet patient needs. For example, one day I left some medications at home when I went on a business trip. My IVF coordinator (Erica Weinberg) worked after hours (while I was on a flight) to help me find a pharmacy in Milwaukee that would be open late and get the prescription there. She also made me calm down which was just as important. The rest of the staff — receptionist, phlebologists (especially Amaly), nurses — were similarly excellent and incredibly sensitive to the ups and downs of the process. I felt like they were all pulling for us. This is also true for all of the support staff at the main RMA location.
We went to the Brooklyn location because it’s convenient for us, but I would actually recommend it over the main office for a few reasons. One, it is more intimate and wait times seem shorter. Two, you see the same doctor (Dr. Klein) unless you need an appointment on a Wednesday or weekend when you go to the main office and may see Dr. Klein anyway. I understand from friends who went to the main office that they saw whoever was on call. While that’s fine medically, for the reasons I describe above, I was very happy with the consistency of seeing one doctor.
We just «graduated» from RMA and, despite our happiness at our positive outcome (so far!) we were really sad to say goodbye to Dr. Klein and the staff. I can’t recommend him or the office highly enough.

I am almost choked up writing about my wonderful experience at RMA in general and the Brooklyn office in particular. Dr. Styne was my primary doctor, though I spent much of my 9+ weeks of monitoring and treatment at the Brooklyn office with Dr. Joshua Klein. I simply cannot say enough good things about my experience with RMA. The office staff is amazingly efficient and professional without being cold, and the supporting medical staff (nurse practitioners, etc.) were knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Styne came up with a logical plan (which was not super aggressive, but also not a «wait-and“hope» plan) for my husband and I right away, and then got down to business putting that plan into action. My weekly visits to the Brooklyn office for monitoring were always pretty quick, but I never felt rushed by Dr. Klein or his staff. Best of all, their plan worked on the first try, and we are now expecting our first child.
Being released from RMA to an obstetrician was bittersweet because, while I am so happy that I am having a healthy pregnancy, I am also so sad that the people at RMA cannot care for us throughout my entire nine months. If anyone is on the fence about whether or not to use RMA, don’t hesitate. Even if it takes a little longer than it took us, you are in amazing hands there.
UPDATE: My daughter was born healthy and happy, and I credit her good start to RMA. Choosing RMA was, literally, the best decision that I have ever made.

my first visit/​consultation was yesterday and i couldn’t have been more impressed. dr. joshua klein is just lovely. he didn’t talk down to me once and is very kind. he’s incredibly knowledgeable and efficient without being flip. he’s also gentle with the probe. :)
the staff including the receptionist, (alicia, i think) and the nurse/​assistant amaly were also about as nice as you can get without being fake.
i’m really relieved that i found this place and am looking forward to this being a less painful/​stressful experience during what will probably be an already stressful endeavor.
also, GORGEOUS views from all windows, which was a nice little bonus.

I was referred to RMA by my obgyn who always gives stellar referrals, so it was not a surprise to me that the treatment and staff here were excellent. I spent most of my time at RMA Brooklyn (as opposed to the UES offices). Dr. Joshua Klein was my doctor. I wish I could have kept him for the full 9 months! His honest and friendly manner, his willingness to listen and answer questions, and most of all the fact that he was obviously very skilled and truly engaged in the process of helping us through treatment (well, maybe MOST of all that he got the job done on the first try, LOL) net him the full 5 stars. (If they had more stars, I’d give him the maximum.)
