History

Established in 2011.

Of course we all know the history of Hookah/​Shiesha. If not, you can look it up on Wikipedia… But, the idea of Red Mist Hookah Lounge & Café started over a cup of coffee in Bryant Park (NY) on a hot summer day. We were sitting there during our lunch calculating the amount of revenue a Hookah Lounge can produce… By the time we got back to our office, we had a basic plan in mind. We had the drive and a positive attitude. Next meeting was in Starbucks (Steinway St, Queens), discussing potential ideas for décor and furniture and of course finalizing a location… I was in Dallas, TX when I called the Real Estate agent… Few weeks had passed, it was time to sign the deal… Ramadan was starting in less than 2 months and we were under pressure to launch before that… the month of May was chaotic… Grand Opening was July 29th. We made it… Started with 30; we now have more that 60 exotic flavors! A special thanks to family, friends and the Red Mist team for making it happen!

We are both Auditors & Accountants and graduated from CUNY Hunter College. We have been working in the Financial Services Industry in NYC for over 6 years. Creating a business together has been our dream since the college days. We put this dream into action when we started a small Tax practice back in 2005 to present day and yet again when we launched Red Mist Hookah Lounge and Café.

This place use to be really good but now it’s just the worse place… u have to wait like forever for someone to take ur order… and then they disappear and never come around to see if u need anything… not coming back here ever again!!! Horrible staff and service!

I’ve been wanting to try hookah for some time now and it finally happened. I went with two other people so it was a small hangout, we arrived at like 6:30 p. m ishh and that was a mistake because it was kinda empty. But since it was our first time it saved us from embarrassment, but as it got later like 8 – 9:00 p. m more people showed up and the «DJ» played better music… The workers where nice, we kept asking questions and they helped us, we got used to inhaling the smoke, by the end of the night we didn’t want to leave. Overall great experience would deff go again.

I have been here once to try hookah since it was close to my house. Hookah is not bad that much but the place is so weak. We had to go outside to get some fresh air. They got weird kind of music which is loud. I would not come here again.

Been there a few times now and it was always alright. Today we came in to hang out again and the place was empty except for another group. We ordered our hookah and proceeded to wait…5…then 10 minutes. A few other people came in and ordered. 5 minutes later they had their hookahs and we were still waiting. We waited 20+ minutes in an empty lounge for a hookah that never came and watched others get theirs ahead of us. Will not be returning. Do not recommend. Seems like you need to know the owners to get decent service.

I have been to this hookah lounge a few times and it’s a pretty basic hookah lounge. There is not all of drinks on the menu beside coffee and stuff like that. The hookah is bad. For where it located it a decent hookah lounge. I don’t recommend you come here if you don’t have a large crowd of friends with you because it can get pretty boring. As far as food the menu is pretty basic, the music is also alright. In all honestly this hookah lounge is missing that wow factor and I’m surprise they still open. I don’t recommend you come here if you looking for night of fun because you won’t get it here but if you want just a chill quiet night then you might enjoyed it. I don’t think I would come here again.

I go here pretty often when I am in the mood to just smoke hookah and kill time. The hookah is reaaaally good. Also, the prices are good too. On a good day, you will get your hookah in less than 10 minutes and you will get your coal changed without having to ask. On a bad day, the hookah takes 3 years to come out and you have to go on a wild goose hunt to get more coal because the servers disappear. I wouldn’t eat from here and I don’t find their drink menu appealing.
They don’t serve alcohol so this isn’t the place to come to if you want a few drinks, which kind of sucks. But on the flip side, this place is very laid back and chill, so the liquor license would probably change the whole dynamic of the place in a negative way.
Anywho, try the prann, purple haze, blue mist, and mint! I haven’t found better hookah anywhere in the city yet.

So, I walked by this place a couple of times and u can barely see anything that is going on inside– which I admired when I got into the place– I felt a sense of privacy!!! I admired the atmosphere and the decoration and colors of the place as well as furniture. A nice place to chill with friends or even a date.
The music-​was like Bollywood heaven!

THE HOOKAH! — yummy! I loved how Sahil and mahim (I believe that’s how I spell their names) were very attentive and also attentive to my hookah whenever I needed coal! Lol Sahil hooked up my hookah as I trusted him with it and I loved it– he mixed cherry, pomegranate, and I believe strawberry together on a regular head and it was yum!
The bathroom– can get a lil girl friendly a lil (as in guys lift up the seats plez) but decent.
I would love to come here again! Thanks for the great customer service

This brings back to when I was in college. We use to hang out with the Hillel kids and share their hookah and stuff. They would set up some tents and and we pita and humus it all night.
This place has all that middle eastern food that we love so much. I am totally going to hang out here more often.

First of all, this lounge is «GRADE PENDING.»…
I came here with four friends on a Thursday night. We first walked in and it was so foggy. It was a little hard to make out what was going in. Three minutes in and your eyes will adjust to the darkness. We ordered two hookahs, $ 18 for a mix between the Classic and their Premiums (Melon and White Peach) and one Premium (Honeydew) which was $ 18 or $ 20. It’s a pretty small lounge you were just breathing in smoke left and right. Even in the shady bathroom in the back you would be breathing in something. Our hookahs were prepared about 15 minutes later. The flavors were decent, only the Honeydew had a distinct flavor. It lasted for about 2 hours and the bill came out to be around $ 45.
When we left my boyfriend found out why this place is grade pending. Apparently in the last sanitary inspection, they found traces of mice and the place did not meet the cleanliness standards.
Well…safe to say i’m not coming here anymore.
