I like a strong massage, one that almost brings me to my breaking point. I’ve been visiting Qi for 3 years now and that’s what I get almost every time. It’s a solid place, not perfect, but solid and cheap. Make sure to ask for more pressure if you need it. I find the staff to be very responsive to feedback. If you are looking for a soothing spa atmosphere try another joint.

How this place has more than 1 star is beyond me. I went last Friday for a 1 hour back massage with my boyfriend. I didn’t want to judge a book by its cover, but the place was filthy looking before I even walked in. I was desperate to get the knots out of my back so I went for it, hoping it would be a diamond in the rough. I WASSOWRONG!!! ALWAYSTRUSTYOURGUT. The male masseuse who worked on my back gave me the feeling that he had no idea what he was doing. He was literally poking me with his index fingers for a while, some times physically shaking my entire body. It was extremely uncomfortable and he is obviously not trained at all to do any type of massage therapy. I contemplated stopping to ask him if he was certified, but I knew I’d get a response that I didn’t want to hear. As he was going back and forth between painfully shaking my body with his index fingers and just softly smoothing my back with his hand(not effective at all), I felt like I was an idiot for paying this person for whatever it was he was trying to do to me. I might as well have paid a homeless man on the street to poke me in the back, that’s what it felt like anyways. And he kept missing the obvious knots in my shoulders, I finally broke down and asked him to focus on my right shoulder area and he was like«where? i don’t know where your knots are» HOLYCRAP, are you serious? If he were a licensed professional masseuse, I wouldn’t even need to say a word, he would be able to feel it out and massage it out for me. But obviously, a licensed professional he is not. So THANKTHELORD, my boyfriend the savior comes to the rescue. He finally had enough of HIS bad massage and asked to stop it short at 30 minutes, came into my little booth and asked if I wanted to stop and I said«YESPLEASE» and we ran out of the place screaming and never to return… ENDOFSTORY. NEVERGOHERE.

If you don’t like to pay 100+ dollars for a massage, this is the place for you. I would NOT go here for any medical necessity, i mean really use your judgement. Its a place that if you had a long tiring week and need some cheap relaxation, you go and have these people give you a nice massage. It reminds me of the massage places in Thailand, no frills but nice service and appreciative workers. I would go back.

I went in to Qi Gong Tui-Na for a massage after a long day at work and experiencing a kink in my neck that was pretty painful. A very friendly man greeted me and I was escorted to my massage bed. I felt like the privacy was adequate and music was turned on which was really surreal sounding and wonderful. I told the woman who massaged me I had a lot of pain and pointed to where. She said, «no problem.» She used a lot of pressure and particularly pointed pressure with elbows — it was painful but I thought it might work to get out the kink. I told her when it hurt and she said, «very tight, no circulation.» I kinda rolled with it and tried to keep breathing through it. The heated massage balls towards the end felt really wonderful and were unexpected. A beeping alarm went off after 30 minutes($ 26) and I walked out feeling like perhaps it helped. My back pain increased throughout the night and I kept waking up. This morning it is worse and excruciating. This is not the place to go to if your back is hurting or you already have pain.

I read some of the other reviews on Unilocal and thought I’d give it a try. I agree I don’t understand all the 4 and 5 stars for this place. I recently moved to the neighborhood and it was close by. I made an appointment by phone and when I showed up I was told to wait 10 minutes which ended up being more like 15. Ok, fine. Not a deal breaker. The place, as other reviews mention, is NO frills. I wouldn’t exactly brag on how clean the place was. It’s a bit dingy. The«rooms»(which are basically privacy screens and a curtain) are so small you barely have room to undress. The tables were cheap and somewhat hard. The massage wasn’t bad… The woman had strong hands and applied more pressure when I asked. However, the weirdest part was as they are massaging you they leave the front curtain open. As other customers come in and leave you are truly EXPOSED. I’ve never seen anything like it. As I walked out I walked past two other rooms and witnessed the people being massaged. That in and of itself was a complete DEALBREAKER for me. I will not be returning.

These Chinese ladies save my life! I used to go to the Asian Tui Na place at 28th/Park in the city, but lately they are booked up. I started trying this place, which is a 10 minute walk from my house. Very good experience every time– especially with ‘Lucy’. The massage is strong, they hit all the right spots, it’s cheap(get a 60 minute body massage and a 20 minute foot massage for $ 60)!!! And not sleazy or uncomfortable in the least. Go! You will feel great afterwards.

After a very creepy and gross experience at one of the local hole in the wall places I decided to go with the Unilocal reviews and try Qi Gong Tui-Na Salon. Being short on time like any other new yorker I decided to go for their 30 minutes for 35 dollars«quick» massage which is reasonable. I believe for 60 min its $ 60 First thing I noticed is how clean the place was and how nice the«receptionist» was. Very accommodating with supplying water and taking my jacket and even slippers! The massage was good I definitely could have had it deeper. I had only my back worked on. Still have a few knots but I am willing to come back and have a whole hour of deep tissue. All in all a good experience and I am coming back!

Chinese massage is always the best, and this lady went above and beyond. The price was right for the service, actually pretty inexpensive for an hour! I really enjoyed the hot stones and her jumping on the table/walking on my back. Everyone was very friendly and I can’t wait to go back.

I feel extremely misled by all the five stars here. I went here this afternoon thinking that there were going to be «strong hands,» and was extremely unsatisfied with my full body massage. My masseuse was very nice and all, but I was very unsatisfied with their techniques, and definitely substandard to all the other places I’ve been to. No knots were taken out, and I definitely did not feel any pleasure. I wanted a deep-tissue massage, and asked for more pressure multiple times. However, my masseuse told me she was using all her strength already. It was weird. I didn’t know what to say afterwards. She definitely was trying, but the technique she used didn’t help her use her strength efficiently. At the end, I just felt bad that she was trying so hard and had to shorten my massage. Next, I also was displeased with the towel they used to cover my body. It felt really course and reminded me of a used motel towel that’s been way overused. Lastly, I also didn’t like the sound of the cars and trucks that I kept hearing throughout the whole time. This is definitely one of the cheaper places in the Williamsburg area, but I think I will pass. I get massages quite often, and I have to say this was one of the least enjoyable experiences, and I should have probably done a 15 minute massage first to know what I was getting. $ 28 for 30 minutes, $ 48 for one hour.

(5 stars not comparing it to really nice and pricey spas that offer massage) I’ve been here over a dozen times over the past few years. It’s clean, quiet, simple, professional, not creepy, not sexual, inexpensive and the workers always seem to go past the amount of time you are paying for. For $ 30 or pretty much any monetary denomination you say, you can get reflexology(foot massage) that will make you feel good all over as you walk out of there. Full body massages are good, too. Also, don’t be afraid to say, «A little softer, please» because some of the ladies are very strong. There are a bunch of these in Greenpoint and I went to the one on India(?) @ Manhattan Ave and the masseuse was also the person who answered phones and the door and that was not relaxing at all. Try this instead of alcohol after work sometime.

Wow. Awesome cheap massage. I had a woman named Nancy who all the regulars seemed to request by name. Best 50 bucks I ever spent.(Would give it five stars if not fort the instrumental version of the titanic soundtrack)

Great no frills massage place for cheap! It is not fancy, but the women have strong hands and do a wondeful job.

I just had one of the best massages ever at this little unassuming place right on Manhattan Avenue, for about a third of the price at most spas($ 26 for 30 minutes). The masseuse found all the knots in my neck, shoulders and back and went to town on them. I’d been delaying going in because I’ve only had massages at fancy spas before, and this place is strictly no-frills and one big room with the tables separated by screens and curtains, but it still felt private enough for me. And the massage itself was definitely high quality. I will be going back.
