DO NOT USE!!! We recently sold our bed frame and mattress and during the moving process one of the guys broke a window in the stair well. When I called the offices in order to have them pay for the damage, as the business card says insured, the man who answered began yelling at me and refusing to take any responsibility. He said they weren’t the actual movers and dispatch other people to do the jobs. However he refused to give me the actual movers information or pay for the damage.
VERY RUDE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Don’t waste your time or money.

If you care about your time and money, DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. They are the slowest movers I have ever used, and STOLE. They take a lot of time because they pause to go through each box and bag. They will find your most expensive possessions and take them.

The guys are criminals, and lower than scum.
They stole a bag and refuse to respond by phone or email. The company will quote you a reasonable rate of $ 75 an hour for 3 guys, but don’t let that fool you. The guys will take their sweet time. My simple move took 9 hours. In addition, the guys said they needed to go for lunch, which they did on my time, and went through all of our stuff, and stole our possessions. Once they’re finally done, they will complain about the tip ($ 100 for 3 people isn’t enough)? They harassed me for additional tip and wouldn’t leave until we gave more money.
The company isn’t legit. Do you see a website listed anywhere for them? They only take cash, I wonder why that is the case? Do yourself a favor and use a reputable mover, even if they quote you a little bit more money. I wish I did.

These guys were fine — was a little concerned about them given the poor ratings here but a friend recommended them and we had no notable issues. On the plus side they are affordable and were able to help take apart /​put our bed back together upon moving. On the minus side they did seem to take their sweet time in getting from point A to point B (it was literally 2 blocks away) and they rounded up — took about 3hrs and 10 mins and we were charged for 3.5 hrs. Note that given some of the horror stories here we decided to keep our valuables on us /​moved them ourselves.
But they got the job done, showed up on time, and were cheaper than pretty much everyone else. Can’t complain.

They did an amazing job and made my life so much easier. Showed up on time and very professional, knew what there where doing and I felt at ease.
Highly recommend them if you want to move and have no worries.

They are scam artists, unprofessional and extremely rude. Stay away from them!

Eurotrash receptionist answers phone calls from their business card and unwilling to help answer BASIC questions. She cut me off multiple times. Don’t give these people your money. NEGATIVE ZERO STARS IF I COULD, HOE.

The movers came on time, walked into our apartment, said «Actually, you have too much heavy stuff, and walked right out to take a different job.» We booked the movers 6 weeks in advance, provided a complete inventory of our stuff, and confirmed twice prior to the move. This company is extremely unprofessional and left us having to scramble to find emergency movers since we had to move that day. I cannot express how disappointed I am with this company. The office staff was extremely disrespectful when I called in and said her movers are under no obligation to take a job they don’t want. Avoid this company at all costs!

I had 2 moving experiences with them. First one of 12÷15÷14 was good as they came on time and didn’t charge too much. But secone one of 12÷31÷15 became a nightmare. Movers came late 1 hour and 30 mins and even though it was only 3 streets south from the same block of UWS between Riverside Dr and West End Ave, it took 4 hours. Then 3 movers didn’t leave until I gave them $ 50 tip per person. Then, this morning, I found my Ferragamo necktie was missing that I got as Christmas gift from my friend. I called a few times to their manager named Rio but he kept insisting I have to call the mover. I’m thinking of going to Police station and file a complaint at the court. Rio, if you find this review, you need to do something as a manager to take care of this. You are the one who arranged these movers for my move. Be more responsible.

Move date was ⁹⁄₃₀ and I thought all was going to be fine with this moving company because my roommate used it and had a fine experience, BUT they lost my air conditioning unit!!!
After a few days of unpacking, I realized that the A/​C unit was missing… When I called the company to let them know, they said I would be contacted by the people who moved my stuff to figure out what happened… nope, no call. Then I called back a few days later and got the same response… still no call back… I called them again because MY A/​C IS STILL MISSING and the company has yet to do anything about it. Not to mention the guy on the phone, Alex, started yelling at me.
After my interaction with this company, my new theory is that they stole my A/​C unit (it was really nice) and I am never going back to them for business.
On top of that, I had a number of lamps that were thrown into bags (by the movers) and now they all bent in different ways so I have to thrown them out. Or have a crooked lamp :/​The movers have no regard for breakable/​fragile items at all. Consider this a warning.
Stay away from this company! They will just take your money and steal your stuff! Not to mention that the movers blatantly pressure you into tipping more.
If you care about your stuff, take your business elsewhere. These guys are crooks, don’t be fooled! It’s not worth it — speaking from experience.

My husband and I used this company in 2014 when we moved from Long Island to Manhattan. The movers worked quickly and our belongings arrived in one piece. The movers did complain to us that they had gotten a parking ticket in Manhattan and asked us to pay for part of it. We thought this was sketchy but we were pleased with the rest of the move.
In January, 2015, we moved with Prestige again. We decided to use them again because the only problem from our first move was the sketchy parking ticket. Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience this time. The movers worked incredibly slow and they were rude to us. After packing everything into the truck, it took them 2 hours to drive from Manhattan to Carroll Gardens (BK). Both my husband and I beat them to our apartment and when we called them they complained that they were stuck in traffic. We looked up the route on GPS and there was no traffic at the time.
Once they arrived at our new apartment, they complained about us living in a walk-​up multiple times. We had already informed them prior to our move that we were moving to a walk-​up AND we were paying a higher rate due to the walk-​up. At the end of our move, we noticed that the side panel of our dresser was cracked with two long cracks going vertically down the length of the dresser, our bookshelf was broken and the broken piece had been removed, and our sofa upholstery was torn. When we pointed out these damages to the movers, the lead mover was incredibly rude to us and denied them all.
We called prestige for 4 months following our move regarding our broken furniture. Each time we were told that they would call us back but we never heard back from them. They told us they were waiting to hear back from their insurance but wouldn’t give us the name of a real insurance company. They were rude each time we called and unfortunately we eventually gave up.

I would not recommend working with this company. I booked them about a week and a half ago via a recommendation from a friend who had recently used them. They completely left me hanging. My move was scheduled for between 1−2pm and I had to call them at 2:30pm only to be informed that they would not arrive until 4:00pm. Frustrating? Yes. But not uncommon for NY.
I asked my boyfriend to call them at 4:45pm when the movers still had yet to arrive and they proceeded to scream down the phone at him asking why he was calling. Then they said «we can’t help you» and hung up. Perplexed, I gave them another call back. An irritated foreign man answered the phone and asked him why (after putting my faith in their «business» and waiting over 3 ½ hours) they were leaving me in the dust? Their answer was that they simply did not care.
While I will be okay and easily find another mover eager for easy business (already have), I’m a little worried for their business. They obviously have no knowledge of the biggest driver in their industry, which is word of mouth and recommendations. If this is the way they are conducting business and treating customers then I hope this is just a side business or hobby of theirs. They’re complete con artists who have no idea what it takes to make a business successful. And that’s the sad part.
The only reason this review has a star is because it’s required. If you’ve been put in a bind by this company then I would suggest calling NYC Moves. They came to our rescue and sent a truck within an hour of our call. They had great customer service and are obviously invested in actually profiting from their business!

Two friends had used this company and had great experiences so I decided to give them a try despite the Unilocal reviews. After arriving 4 hours late due to an issue where they couldn’t unload a truck last night and 3 hours into loading my apartment (that I packed entirely myself) they’re still not done with just the loading, which likely means that it will take at least that long to unload, plus travel time.
They put a few items on dollies and then disappear for 30 minutes. I suspect it’s because the elevator (that I had reserved for 3 hours this morning) is now being used by other movers, which will be the same at my new building, and I realize it’s not the fault of the guys moving, but I called the company to explain my frustration, since it will likely cost me at least another couple of hours ($ 75/​hour). Answer: it was because of the incident last night and we just work by the hour.
Bottom line, unless you want to wait and spend more than you planned, I wouldn’t take the chance on this company! Hopefully in a few hours I’ll be in my new place and this will be a distant memory.

We were skeptical at first, given some mixed reviews and that they are way less expensive than every other moving company called, but we were so happy we went with prestige! The 3 men arrived early, were extremely polite, even packed some hanging items for us into wardrobe boxes! They were quick, efficient and super nice. And the price can’t be beat! I would recommend them to everyone.

I was quoted a very specific price. $ 65 an hour, for three movers. Great Price! I’ll tip each mover 20 bucks each afterwards (moving two blocks down the street to a first floor apartment) and wipe my hands clean. I had the option of getting two movers for $ 50 an hour, but that was 3 hour minimum plus 1 hour for travel. I agreed to the 3 movers because he said they could handle a 2 bedroom apartment in 3 hours and wouldn’t charge me for travel. Ok, lets book it.
Not getting the quote into contract was my mistake, because guess what, they decided they could charge WHATEVER they wanted. I got called into work last minute so my fiancé supervised the movers. They then told her «Yeah that’ll be $ 75 an hour plus, $ 30 tip required for each mover AND we’ll be charging an extra hour for travel». Wow. Of course my fiancé, thinking she must have heard me wrong, paid what they said.
TL;DR — What started as a $ 255 expense turned into a $ 400 tab from a bunch of scamming movers who suck people in with a misleading quote, and then pounce on the opportunity to take your money.

Hopefully this review will save others what i had to endure. Hands down, worst business experience i’ve ever experienced. after showing up on the wrong day because of poor communication between the drivers and the company, i was was told to «*&^!(*… &^%!*@… *##». Lastly, after being overcharged for the error on their part, and deviously charged more on top of that, numerous items were damaged and broken. A lot to pay (especially since they’re dealing under the table) for that kind of treatment and damaged furniture.

One of the best moving experiences I’ve had. Cheaper than other places, very professional movers, and didn’t damage anything – which is usually unheard of unless I use united van lines & spend $ 1000+.

We had a rough start as the dispatcher wasn’t aware our original crew got hurt, but quickly found us an alternative crew who shows up within a hour.
They placed all boxes right side up, careful with all furnitures & glasses, work fast. Can’t complain at all.

Probably one of the worst experiences using this company, I highly recommend not using them. First off, the morning began with them not being able to open the truck because they forgot the key to the lock which set us back 20 minutes. Then the movers kept complaining about moving me into a walk up and not having an elevator. Every single piece of furniture was either chipped or scuffed up. After all that they still made me pay full price and did not refund me for any damages. Do not use them.

I moved today, a three-​block move, from a 4^th floor walk-​up to a 1^st floor apartment. I chose the company for the price, to be honest, and was disappointed when I was told that my move (which I personally believed only needed 2 men) would require 3 men because of laws.
So I said fine, because I just didn’t want to bother moving my stuff down four flights of stairs, three blocks, and up a half-​set of stairs. I looked up the reviews on Unilocal and was still on the fence about them but had already booked them so fine — scheduled my move for 9 AM Saturday morning.
8:56 I get a phone call — «We’re here.» Fabulous.
9:15 basically all of my stuff is in the truck.
9:45 my bed and the dresser and anything remaining is in the truck.
9:56 they’re done.
I was shocked — nothing broken, nothing bruised, and just like that it’s over. So I’d say I was impressed and very happy with the service. However! (There’s always a however.)
I still had to pay for 2 hours of delivery (which honestly I was happy to do since they had done such an efficient job) — but they should have offered. And then when I went to tip them, they asked for more money — presumably for the driver whose only job was to sit in the truck as far as I could tell, seeing as there were only 2 men really working on moving my stuff. Not cool to request more for a tip, seeing as it’s just a suggestion. Not cool.
So it ended up costing me way more than I expected — and that’s really my only complaint. Otherwise, I’d use them again. Super efficient and safe with my stuff.

Live Unilocaling this move… We are moving across town, 1 bedroom, down 3 flights, then back up another 3. They are sending 3 movers.
1:45 minutes late, still no sign of them. The woman at Prestige was very apologetic and said my movers were delayed by a police search and is unable to speak to them…
Update 1: The scheduled arrival was noon-​1. It’s now 3:30, they are endlessly described as a half an hour away.
Update 2: They arrived at 4:20 and are hustling.
Update 3: It exactly 2hrs to complete, so only $ 150 plus tip for the full move.
If you aren’t on a firm schedule, and née a cheap mover, they work.
