I love this place. Real deal rice and beans. A guilty pleasure of mine. I can’t say anything wrong about it. FyI they do not force you to sit down. I have had them assume I want to. They repacked my order and all was good this has happened a couple times.

Great place for a hearty columbian lunch, good value too!

A welcome sight in this transitioning neighborhood — a bright, clean restaurant/take-out place that’s aimed primarily at locals. Pollo(also known as «Pollos» or «Pollos American») is popular with cops and families with its massive portions, cheap prices and good décor. A ½ chicken with rice and beans, a pile of food so large that it has to be served on two full sized plates, is only $ 5.75. The chicken is well-flavored, but surprisingly the beans sometimes are the meal’s highlights. The chicken, served Colombian style, is obviously the center here, but occasionally I’ve had some of the other more premium plates, and they’ve been successful. Ordering take-out gets you even larger portions of the rice and beans, but it’s really not necessary. I like coming in here on a Sunday afternoon, having just woken up, with a book and enjoying a long brunch with a book and a couple of seltzers from a glass bottle. [I’m going down a star because I’ve noticed the chicken has been noticeably more dry the last two or three times I’ve been in. I’ve varied the times, so this includes a weekend afternoon and a Tuesday dinner. I hope this isn’t the start of a long-term trend.]

service is horrible, they never answer their phone and they force you to sit down and eat when you want to order take out. the food isn’t spectacular, but it’s abundant and hits the spot. anything with Chicharron involved is a must-order. the«pollo» aspect of this restaurant doesn’t resinate in my mind. however the cheap prices + side options included in meal + random latin sodas and juices = awesomeness. the freshly-made chicken soup is a great cure for the common cold. =)

I’m pretty new to Columbian food and i’m glad this place showed me the ropes. After a night at a friends place I decided to try the food here. I was stuffed! The portions on the plate were big and could easily feed two people. I don’t remember what the dish was called(SORRY) but it included rice, beans, chicken breast, a fried egg and BIGPIECE of CHICHARRON! My mouth is watering right now… It was really good and I wish one was open in my neighborhood.

As a traditinal Colombian Family we love to eat out, but will never come back to this place. We’ve had better sevice at the local Mc Donalds and better food. The steak was dry and tastless just like the chicharron. The only thing that was good was the Postobon orange soda which they could not mess up cause it was bottled else where.
