Learn to spin fire with one of NYC’s most respected teachers! Claire specializes in teaching poi, fans, hoop, and other flow arts, as well as stiltwalking. Whether you’re brand new to spinning or looking to expand your flow, we offer a class for you. Both group classes and private classes are available. We train without fire and then learn how to safely incorporate the aspect of flames!

History

Established in 2007.

Started in October 2007 to share the love of poi and fire arts, one class has grown into 5 ongoing group classes per week, country-​wide workshops, and international private students. Claire de Luxe takes pleasure and delight in being able to teach *anyone* how to spin poi and other props — as long as they are willing to practice.

Claire de Luxe lives to set your souls aflame. A professional circus freaque of international renown, she specializes in fire performance, stiltwalking, and interactive dance. Claire has performed with such hitmakers as T-​Pain, Wyclef Jean, and Shpongle and is featured in the current season of Lifetime’s Project Runway. She has wowed clients as diverse as Jay-​Z, Bloomberg, and Miranda Kerr, dazzled crowds at events ranging from Bonnaroo to Le Cirque, and hypnotized audiences as large as 300,000. From gorgeous, layered spectacles to spicy, sensual atmosphere, Claire creates elegant, seductive, spellbinding entertainment. She dances with as many as 20 different fire, glow, and blacklight reflective props, including unique, self-​designed fire tools, and performs with several different troupes as well as directs her own fire troupe, Enchanted. Claire spends her daytime hours sharing her love of the circus arts and teaching students the meditative and beautiful art of spinning.
