This place has awesome Chicken Tortilla Soup and I was regular while staying near by there at an Airbnb. That said, I have no idea why on earth they don’t take credit cards. It is so weird when businesses don’t. Five stars if they took cc’s.

Everything here is delicious. Brunch and dinner is very flavorful, very homely feeling. The waitresses are hip. The drinks are strong. The breakfast burrito is amazing, as are the regular burritos and the stuffed peppers.

Deliciouso! This is the spot to be if you’re hungry for a full meal of Mexican. It is cash only so remember that. I went there a few times already. The black beans are filling. The sour cream goes well with them. All the dishes are recommended.

I grew up in Fort Greene, and started going to Pequena as soon a they opened. It was my favorite spot for years and years, during high school, whenever I’d come home for college, etc. I still feel like the food is amazing and I do love the ambiance(although I hate the wait, but I know it’s coming if I’m trying to be there on a Friday or Saturday so I don’t hold it against them). I just feel like they’ve raised their prices so much since starting that I’ve started going less and less. I’m sure their rent has gone up, but paying $ 8 for a tiny bowl of guacamole made me second guess my love for their black bean plantain quesadilla. And very little can make me do that.

5 stars on the music listening to(«Lithium» by Nirvana) during dinner, A+ 4 stars on the food, We had the sampler, great value for the money. We also had the fish tacos and shrimp tostada, both solid but a little pricey. 3 stars on the service, nice waitress but we had to ask for utensils and the check after being finished for awhile(she was having a conversation with her friend). 2 stars on the drinks– although tasty both the margarita and sangria made of very cheap alcohol made us hungover the next day– we love to drink, just not swill.

Atmosphere: small interior with a glass-enclosed outdoor area. Seating is comfortable, but just barely. Because of the limited seating, they only sit complete parties. Staff: standard Brooklyn hipster vibe, somewhat inattentive(I had to ask for water several times), but definitely friendly. Food: great for vegetarians(sorry vegans) and gluten-free eaters. The nachos would satisfy any glutton– crisp but still slopped with a motley assortment of toppings. The mushroom soft tacos were nothing to write home about, but still good. Loved the enchiladas– saucy and stuffed with veggies. However, I would have liked more filling and less cheese. Drinks: The prices are great, and if you come during happy hour(until 7p), margaritas are $ 5. Don’t come for the wine, very limited selection. I don’t drink, so this didn’t sway me and might have lifted the rating for some.

Delicious, fresh food. Great portions, nice drinks, cool vibe. It’s a tight squeeze, but whenever I feel like something SATISFYING — Pequena hits the spot!

The Chicken Quesadilla encompasses all the flavors that you would ever want. The Steak is fantastic. Guac and chips hit the spot EVERY time. Seating is tight, and place gets packed for lunch.

I love Pequeña and can’t believe I’ve never posted about it before. The food is pretty great(favorites are enchiladas with red sauce, chicken quesadilla, guac, and you must have the rice and beans) but probably my favorite thing of all time is the frozen coconut margarita. Honestly, I dream about it. I very much believe the food to be more delicious than other places in the area(including Habana) and the drinks are much better, too.

Pequena has pretty good food, mildly overpriced drinks, and friendly service even if it takes forever and a day for your food to arrive. We don’t tend to go often since every time we do we realize we’ve forgotten just how long it is between ordering and receiving your food. Call ahead.

Aw this place is super adorable! I found it when searching Unilocal in the area for Mexican food, and since they had great reviews I decided to stop in. It’s really tiny but since we were there for lunch it wasn’t crowded at all. Upon walking in I saw a sign that said«CASHONLY» so I quickly checked my wallet, and I was in luck. My mom and I sat down right away. We both ordered sodas and my mom got a rum drink. It was super sweet! Our sodas came in bottles and were served with glasses filled with ice. After we placed out order our waitress brought us tortilla chips. Guac was only $ 1 extra. It was so good! My chicken burrito was rocking as well. The portions were massive. My waitress left the restaurant before we were done, which I found strange, but another waitress gave us the check. I’ll totally stop in again!

I want to like this place, but every time I come here, I leave disappointed. The food is okay, medium at best, I just don’t think the prices reflect the quality. $ 12 for 2 small steak tacos? I’m sorry but they’re just not that good to be at that price point. I hate writing bad reviews, but I also hate eating somewhere spending $ 40 on a meal That should’ve been $ 28.

Caveat– I did enjoy the food at this hole in the wall. The portions are filling(I took half the plate home). The service was minimalist, but definitely not bad. But as a former Californian resident I just don’t understand why Chips and Gauc is $ 10, and a burrito is $ 12. it is a burrito in enchilada style(sauce/queso on top) so you need to eat it with cutlery. That’s just weird. Really wish the complementary water was chilled or iced. It was neither on this 80 °F muggy afternoon.

There’s something about the nachos here. I believe every table ordered them, as did our waitress. They’re delicious — the chips stayed crunchy; the avocados and black beans made them hearty; they’re definitely a meal in themselves. I shared nachos with my friend and we had margaritas(those we could handle by ourselves). The margaritas were pretty strong — I definitely felt something after the first one. Also, service was good and atmosphere was cute yet intimate.

The black bean and plantain quesadilla was very tasty. I brought the entrée(quesadilla plus yellow rice and black beans on the side) thinking I was going to be full however, it was more than enough. I recommend people stop by before the spring and summer hustle and bustle.

Quaint little Mexican joint off Fulton. Food was good. Presentation was great. Entrees were camera ready. Location is great. Restaurant size is very small. And service is terrible. Overall not too bad of a place. Try not to let bad service ruin the experience(which can be hard to do)

I ate here 5y ago. A burrito. And it was so delicious that I made a mental note that great burritos can be found in NYC. Then I lived in Long Island, followed by Hoboken. Sadly, I have not had a great burrito since. So I wrote my friend in Baltimore to help me figure out where it was she lead me to with the great burritos. It was here, in Fort Greene, we had bday drinks nearby and I stopped here after. The food was too good to be true: I had only had Mexican food THAT good in California, Arizona, Mexico(and surprisingly, yes, Chicago). I loved the vibe as well and décor. Just unforgettable.

This great find is situated cozily in Ft Greene close to the C train, also very walkable from Atlantic Terminal. A hole in the wall in its truest form, so small that you will be rubbing elbows with your table-neighbors. Miss Sarit and I sat outside. I allowed her the more comfortable bench seat in a marvelous show of true chivalry and gentlemanliness. We were seated immediately and brought waters and menus. The server came immediately asking if we were ready or wanted drinks, we ordered our food and passed on the drinks(who ever said I was an alcoholic should see me now!) I ordered the mushroom veggie enchiladas with salsa verde and she ordered the veggie quesadillas with beans and rice. The food took so long to come out that we had an entire discussion about whether we should ask the servers what was up. Twice. I mean, they were not packed so what gives? Anyhue against all odds the food did indeed arrive. I proceeded to inhale my enchiladas like it was my job, then moved on to «help» Miss Sarit with hers. I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was! The salsa verde was unfortunately not spicy, but that’s why we have hot sauce amirite? I wish I could have given four stars, but –1 for the waitresses sitting down by the counter chatting instead of checking on customers, –1 for having outside tables so close to the roll up door that we were warned(a few minutes AFTER sitting) that customers sometimes get the grease on them so to steer clear. Literally so crammed that you’re almost forced to rub against the roll up door track, at least where Miss Sarit was sitting… Gallantry paid off, eh?! Fuhgettaboutit!
