With a beloved senior cat having been diagnosed with kidney disease ten months ago, I couldn’t ask for a better veterinarian. Dr. Szacki has been treating my orange tabby for a couple of years now and has gone to great lengths to provide the most optimal care. Though my cat may put up a bit of a fuss – not too much, really – prior to leaving for a check up, once he gets to PSVC he becomes instantly relaxed once Dr. Szacki’s showers him with her coaxing personality, unrushed attention, and tender-​loving care. Then again, my cat has always been somewhat of a lady’s man and knows how to elevate the feline charm and get human fingers to caress the spots he adores.
My cat and I have been inseparable ever since I got him a month after the 9/​ll attacks – having been displaced because of that awful event – and when he’s happy, I’m happy. It doesn’t get any simpler. I would highly recommend PSVC to anyone in search of a reliable veterinarian.

Dr. Szacki is the best. I have been to so many vets in SF, LA and NY, and she is by far the most genuinely caring, straight forward and accessible one I have ever seen. I feel so lucky to have found her and her very sweet staff.

I’ve been going to Park Slope Vet for about 3 years now. Dr. Szacki is my favorite vet ever. Dr. Hildenbrand is also very good! Dr. Szacki is easily reachable, she calls to check up if one of my cats is sick, and she’s extremely thorough. The staff is very efficient and nice — especially Ann & Amber.
You’d think that with such great service they’d be expensive but Park Slope has very reasonable prices

Dr. Szacki is great with my geriatric, giant dog. He loves going to see her as much as I do. She’s friendly, easy to reach, and a knowledgable doc with a terrific bedside manner. With so many of the local veterinary practices selling to large corporations, PSVC is a reliable neighborhood staple that I highly recommend! And although I would not suggest price-​shopping when looking for excellent care for your pooch (or cat), it should be noted that the prices here are very reasonable. Two paws up.

Dr. Szacki is great. Although she is young, she has a lot of experience. She really has a way with animals. When she gave my puppy her shots, my puppy didn’t mind. At one point, she even fell asleep. Dr. Szacki answered all of our questions (and there were many of them since we’re first time dog owners). Prices are reasonable.
My parents took their cat to Dr. Hildenbrand, who was also great.
I definitely recommend this place.

Even though we live in the great land of NYC it can be little difficult in finding a real good Vet. I adopted my dog Cooper from a shelter at 7 weeks. With it being my first dog and all I had A LOT to learn. Dr Szacki and her staff are wonderful. she answered ALL of my 222 questions and was very thorough in the exam. Her prices are affordable compared to others I’ve checked. I would definitely recommend them.

After I moved to this neighborhood my 16year old cat became really ill and I brought her here. firstable they took us right away and I didn’t have to wait at all. Dr. Agela (sorry last name I can’t remember…) was really really nice with me and my kitty. She said she was going to let me know the blood test result the next day but she called me right away after she got the result on the same day and she told me that my kitty was not doing well at all… She explained how she could be feeling and really patient with my questions about what could happen for the next days… I am from Japan and we are kind of against to euthanizing the animals but after I talked her I decided to research on it. And I came to the conclusion that it was the best thing for her. I called the clinic and they took me right away. They are so nice from the beginning to the end. They never forced me to decide on anything and I just liked how they are… And I am very thankful that my cat had a very calm quiet warm last moment. I just got a sympathy from Dr Angela. I have another 17 year old cat who is doing very well and healthy and I will definitely bring her for check ups and everything. Thank you so much!

I came about 45 minutes late and they still took me, which was very considerate of them (getting two cats into one cage is not easy).
The vet looked young but was extremely knowledgeable and took the time to answer every single one of my 1000 questions. I really appreciated that. It’s clear that the whole staff really loves animals.
Also, and this is really important to me, I didn’t feel like I was being ripped off. The price for a check-​up was very reasonable and I didn’t feel pressured to do anything unnecessary or expensive.

I’ve been taking my dog Arrow here since we got her, we had her spayed, all her shots, and then some with Dr. Szacki. She is great, she is gentle and sweet as well as well informed on different breeds and treatments. Arrow is a French Bulldog with allergies, and we tried different methods of treatments. Since Arrow was so young when we realized these allergies are big issue for her. Dr. Szacki didn’t force different medicines and was conscience of prescribing steroids which can be harmful if over used. After a short amount of time, we found a treatment that has been a life changer for us and our dog. The rest of the staff is great too, always super helpful and caring. I would highly recommend this practice!

I have gone to this Veterinary Clinic for several years and thought everything was fine, until I requested my dog’s records, so she could go to the groomer. Not only did they have insufficient records for my dog, they had been treating her without viewing the records they did have. They were unaware they did not have full records for my dog until I requested them to be sent to me. Included in the fee that they charge is accurate record keeping. It is also quite clearly stated in the Veterinary Practice Act that a vet must keep accurate records and have reviewed an animals records before treating them. They tried to blame me for having insufficient records. their negligence is not my fault. While the vets there are nice someone is obviously not doing there due diligence when it come to animal care. Needless to say i am taking both of my pets somewhere else.

I can’t imagine taking my dog any where else. They are so fantastic to my dog and me. Dr. Hildendbrand is such a great vet. The hours are great and they aren’t super expensive either. The front office is friendly and professional, the techs are amazing, and the place is very clean. I would recommend this place to anyone.

There’s a million vets in the 3 miles between my place and Park Slope Veterinary Center, but I wouldn’t even dream of taking my kitties to anyone other than Dr Szacki.
I’ve had a bad year with kittens. I’ve lost one to FIP, had another have major and expensive knee surgery, and had a bad scare with the third. Right throughout, Dr Szacki and the rest of the team have been beyond wonderful to us and our cats.
After the loss of the first kitten, Dr Szacki was available to see me immediately when I had worries about her brother exhibiting similar symptoms. When my other cat was going into surgery (elsewhere), and afterward during recovery, Dr Szacki took time to call me and check on how things were going. You can tell that she does this out of genuine concern and care for her patients.
Everyone here is a serious animal lover, and it shows.

I am so pleased to have found this vet hospital. I’ve been rescuing animals for 20 years, and I’ve worked in 3 different hospitals. This place exceeds my knowledge and experience by far.

These folks got a check for each and every one of these items. I like to think of myself as a knowledgeable pet owner. Dr. Szacki taught me a new way to brush my cats teeth and a better way to feed him. Ok doc! I’m on it. Her tech is an absolute force of gentle-​ness. She held my cat (who in the past could not be held by 3 people) and he gave no resistance. I’m impressed! And the receptionist was kind and thorough. Also, the clinic is super clean which is hard to do in a vet hospital.
I’m telling everyone I know, and all of you good Unilocal folks, how fantastic this place is. Such a relief to have them in care for my kids.

This is just the best vet in The Slope! I love her and she is so wonderful with my dogs and my cat. She has helped us all through some difficult times and been excited for us during new additions. She tolerates my constant questions and phone calls whenever one of my pets sneezes. The whole office is warm and friendly. I don’t ever want to move because I doubt I will find such a good vet somewhere else.

I love this place. My family’s vet retired a year ago (Dr. Burns of Brooklyn Veterinary Hospital, a true miracle worker), so when I adopted a cat, I was on the market for someone I could trust with something that I love the most in life.
Unilocal reviews were awesome for Park Slope Veterinary Center, so I chose them as my cats primary physician, and I’ve been nothing but pleased. I’ve only had Dr. Szacki look at my cat, but everyone there was terrific. She was thorough and compassionate with his exam (which came free, since I adopted my cat from Animal Care and Control).
What really sealed the deal, was when I called late in the day on a weekend for a minor medical problem (which, reading about on the internet, made me panicked), to ask if I should take him in. I got a callback from Dr. Szacki, after her practice had closed, and she patiently talked me through the matter for 20 minutes. It was a minor issue, but she took it very seriously, and when I took my cat in a few days later, he got a clean bill of health.
I endorse this place wholeheartedly– they keep my best friend safe, and they won over my mother (she drives my cat and I there), who will take her pets there.

The most Profesional vets you can find. They are so friendly and loving to the puppies and are always explaining everything and making sure you understand what’s going on with them.
Prices are also not bad, I would recommend this place to everyone.

So, don’t listen to the bag lady that hangs out on the corner. These people are great. Everyone I interacted with from the receptionist to the vet was very nice and very knowledgable. I brought my newly adopted french bulldog in for a wellness visit, to update 3 vaccines, and to check his leg that was bothering him and was very happy with the service. It ran me around $ 180 and in my opinion was worth every penny.
The receptionist was very friendly. The vet techs were great with my dog and almost as nice to me as they were to him, but he’s cuter than I. And the vet was wonderful. My dog clearly did not want to be there and she got right down on the floor with him and made him feel as comfortable as possible while she checked him out. I am going back for all my vet needs.
And I did an hour later! When my dog ate some grapes, which are toxic to some dogs, if you didn’t know (it seems to be random which ones, not breed specific). So not knowing if my dog is a dog that is susceptible to grape induced renal failure, they took him right back in and got him to throw up the grapes and did some poison control treatments. The vet tech even helped me count the grapes in his vomit outside the office on the street. If that isn’t service I don’t know what is. After they did everything they gave me the information for a 24 hour emergency vet and the ASPCA poison control hotline just in case. Wonderful people, all of them, and definitely the vet’s office for my dog.

I’ve been coming here for the past year with my pup. It’s a clean and friendly place. It’s easy to get an appointment and the wait is not too long. My dog has seen both the doctors here and they are both really nice and call you to tell you the results of poop tests, etc. My dog feels really comfortable to come here.
They sell heartguard, frontline and will tell you of the latest rebate offers! They work with local shelters, too!
Definitely make an appointment because there’s a walk-​in fee!

I recently had the nightmare scenario of adopting a kitten, falling deeply in love with her, and then having to euthanize her due to FIP. I found out that she was terminally ill from Dr. Szaki, who was so, so gentle and professional. My kitten had to be put down right away and the doctor, her assistant and even the receptionist were so, so kind and patient with me as I broke into a million pieces.
My tiny little kitty died in my arms and I was left alone in the room for as long as I needed. It was a horrible, horrible experience but I’m grateful for the gentle loving care that Dr. Szaki and team showed both me and my little girl.

Ever since we moved to this part of Brooklyn, me and my nine-​year-​old canine companion Eko have been coming to Dr. Szacki. I have to thank our fellow Unilocalers for helping us to find her and her office, because we’ve been really pleased so far.
Why?

— We’re usually seen quickly.
— Dr. Szacki and her assistants genuinely love animals, and it shows in their care.
— We’re always given good advice.
— We’re sent on our way without any unnecessary add-​ons.
— They’ve been happy to clip my dog’s nails upon request (not a feat for the faint of heart; the dog is a complete pushover when happy, but he can be 85 pounds of pure stubborn if he decides to be).
— Eko usually gets spoiled with treats.
I also really enjoy the fact that they always seem to be fostering the cutest little kittens behind the desk, though I always have to ensure that my dog doesn’t spot them (I see adorableness, he sees dinner).
To paraphrase another reviewer, this place is brimming with good vibes. I have no reason not to give them five stars.
