Oslo Coffee Roasters

Good coffee.
Atrociously bad croissants. Go up Metropolitan to Sweethaus for cheaper, beautiful croissants that don’t taste like fake-​butter too-​fluffy white-​bread with no crunch to them at all. Yuck.

Strong brews. Good vibe. Friendly staff. Ps: the cold brew will keep you trucking for hoursssssss.

A bit disappointed once I stepped in, as I was expecting something more relaxing or stylish, both of which I failed to find at Oslo. What was worse, the time I got there (around 430-​ish on a Sunday afternoon) they already ran out of pastries! Oh also, remember to ask for skim milk if you are a fan of that, they only serve whole/​half and half at the counter.
Nothing seemed to work for me here so I would not return.

coffee roast still good but they made the «pound» bags 4oz smaller for the same price. And there’s plenty of competition from neighboring joints and I am no longer impressed with their community presence. More recent staff are jerky and the owner was cavalier about taking my parking spot in front of the shop when I pulled out for a street cleaner while waiting for alt side. when I told him I had been waiting there for 25 mins with a crying newborn he was like — «just drive around you’ll find another one». Thanks dude. We can get our buzz elsewhere.

Solid coffee from Oslo as usual, and unlike other reviewers I have found the baristas to be friendly across multiple visits here.
Not a café to come and work or sit for an extended period of time– but there is a standing desk with newspapers, a couple stools by the window, and a bench outside which is great for people-​watching on bedford.

When I moved to Williamsburg a few months back, I just seen people with Oslo cups. Everywhere. I’m Italian I love coffee, coffee runs through my veins. I had to try. So one day me and my friend were walking to the subway. We walked by Oslo, I smelled the coffee and I wanted one. I order a macchiato my friends orders a tea, I pay and tip generously and there we are, waiting for our drinks. The barista grabs one of those to go cups, which I hate; I think they defeat the puprose of trying to make a good coffee.
Me: Excuse me, could I have it in a regular cup?
Barista: mh, well, we close in ten minutes (like: aren’t you going to get the hell out of here?)
Me: well, I think I’ll be finished long before ten minutes
The tone of my voice betrays a little frustration and nervousness
Other barista: you know, I’ve already done the washing up, I don’t wanna do it again.
Me (incredulous while I look at him standing one foot from a sink where he could wash my cup in 7 seconds): …you don’t want to wash… a single cup?
Other barista: I’ve been here since 7 this morning blablabla
I’m not even listening anymore, my friend is looking at me, I am now fuming and thinking if I should just go and never come back. But I paid already and I want my freaking coffee. I just tell him: and you complain about our staff? So I zip my mouth and say: whatever.
The coffee was good and that’s a shame, because I walk by everyday and everyday I would have had one if not two (one on my way back), but I’m not going to set foot again in the famous Oslo, where you pay for a coffee and you get it as if they are making you a favor. If you can cope with that kind of attitude or actually think he was right, you are going to drink a decent coffee. Otherwise there are plenty of other places just yards away.

No seats here — just good, strong brews and friendly faces. You come to Oslo for the coffee.

I am from Seattle where coffee is our specialty, but there is something special about the Oslo coffee. The flavor is excellent. Not too bitter or flat. I bought a bag of the Freya blend and received a free cappuccino.

Great, strong coffee and espresso drinks.
Excellent baristas. There is something charming about reading the NYTimes standing up (no seats is fine by me). South Williamsburg doesn’t care about hype, they know better and drink Oslo.

This location is not a location to go sip coffee and write your blog type place. This is where you go if you want the best locally roasted coffee in Brooklyn. They get it right.

Sehr guter Kaffee, alleine deswegen schon 4 Punkte.
Leider keine Tassen wenn man seinen Kaffee dort trinkt, was man in der Gegend inzwischen durchaus bekommt.
Ansonsten ein typischer Coffee-​Shop mit den üblichen Gebäcken und Teilchen

I don’t like the coffee here, to me it tastes sour. And note this place is really for to go only. Besides the bad coffee the other reason for 2 star review is that the place was just downright dirty, like nothing had been wiped down in weeks dirty –splatters on the wall, and the lids and sugars a mess. I tried it since I live a block away but once was definitely enough.

A fantastic espresso that I later turned into a cortado with some hemp milk. This is off the crowded Bedford street spots like Toby’s, Devaucion, Blue Bottle, etc. Will return for a hemp milk latte no doubt.

People can discuss the nuances of the location, the shop, the wifi etc until the cows come home. Fact of the matter is, the product is coffee and the coffee is fucking great.
Best cold brew I’ve ever had, and cold brew is my game.

Such wonderful coffee and espresso. While the space is spare, they make up for it with the quality of the product. Whole beans are a great price and come with a free drink! I definitely recommend the Thor, I’ve been drinking it for years.
A perfect Americano and a perfect latte every single time.
One of my favorite places for cold brew as well. All around a very solid coffee bar.

Five Stars for their Cappuccino!!! But… No WiFi only two chairs and no chance to sit back and relax. If however you are on the go then this place is probably one of the best choices in this area for your daily fix

Best Coffee in the world, long lines but fast service.
Ice or hot, no one does it better in Williamsburg.
And btw, It’s Better than Blue bottle!

Oslo is a very simple café. No frills, not much seating, very small shop. But in terms of coffee, it delivers.
Despite living so close, I only started going after it was mentioned in a Grub Street diet article. I buy almost the same thing each time: a pound of either Thor or Freya (bonus points for the nerdiness of these names).
I’m not a pretentious coffee drinker. I like Starbucks coffee, I like Trader Joe’s coffee, and I like Stumptown coffee.
So what keeps me coming back to Oslo for coffee beans? Their ridiculously genius deal of a free drink with the purchase of a pound of coffee. I know it sounds absurd, I could just BUY a drink like a normal person. But I know I wouldn’t without that incentive.
And the drinks are awesome each time. I’ve only gotten coffee drinks (iced, regular, café au lait, red eye), but they all deliver the necessary kick to my brain.
Even better, last time I was there, I saw they had hemp milk! Will have to try that in my iced coffee next time.

Oslo Coffee Roasters is pretty good neighbourhood coffee joint.
The interior is small but quite cozy. I always prefer my coffee in a mug so getting a take out is out of the question.
Macchiato and Cappuccino were both A-​OK with lovely latte art.
Would definitely drop by if I am in the neighbourhood again!

Proper coffee. If you’re looking for an escape from the winter cold, it’s toasty warm inside, despite the front door that seems intent on staying open. It’s not all that inviting, but it’s a place you can sit quietly and get some work done.
