I visit this store periodically(for example, when I had to replace a defective cable box and pick up a new box). First of all, this store is located in a remote part of Brooklyn — it is not easy to get to this place. If you don’t drive take the B6 and walk about 5 minutes. Secondly, customer service is okay, nothing to write home about. The place is very clean and lines tend not to be long. I’ll deduct two stars due to the following: 1) Optimum’s exorbitant cable rates; and 2) finding this store is like trying to locate an original copy of the Declaration of Independence!

After 2 yrs of non-service from Optimum I decided to cancel my cable(how many times can the box stop working) and land line and just get netflix but keep my Internet service. All I needed to do was drop off my cable box/remote etc. I highly recommend you don’t walk there from the train station because it’s a solid 20 minute hike– if you take the B6 local bus it will leave you on the same block Ave H and 45th st in less than 10 minutes! If you take the Limited B6 you will have to walk up Ave H and Albany Ave. You will see a giant Verizon store and I asked them where the Optimum station was– they pointed to around the corner and there it was. If I had gone late at night or in the snow I would have felt like it was a scene with something bad to happen. However, it was 5:30pm yesterday with the sun shining — yay spring! Inside, I waited less than 2 minutes(no lines) and I returned my equipment with no issues and a receipt that showed all my account information. The facility was clean and the representative was friendly. The best part is I don’t have to wait for Optimum to claim they didn’t receive my cable box by mail.

Very poor customer service. One rep started arguing with me about rates and insisted that I should give my SSN to check for unpaid bills, which is BS. They can easily check it with your account number or address and apt #. And this is not the first time Optimum is doing this, phone reps can be very rude and condescending, too. I’ll be sure to never set a foot on this place or get service from this company again.

One… who puts a business like this, in the middle of nowhere. It’s mad hard to get here. If you wanna take three buses, two cabs and a three hr flight, then this is the place to travel. Customer service is okay. It’s super clean in here tho, and it’s never any crazy long lines. Which I love.

The service was great, but I HAVE to deduct a star for the remoteness and general creepiness of the location. They might as well be on a deserted island with a single palm tree. First, the service. It’s fair to say I had the lowest of expectations. All I needed to do was return a cable box, while maintaining the promotional rate I wanted for internet. The staffer who helped me — I believe his name was Yan — not only understood what I was trying to do, he facilitated it even though it meant less money for Optimum. I walked out 20 minutes later completely satisfied. However, I was also marooned. Getting here means taking the 2 to the end of the line, then walking over a mile. Most of it is residential, but my path took me past some pretty stark warehousing too. The Optimum store itself sits on a bleak lot surrounded by tall fencing and barbed wire. I couldn’t remember if I was there for customer service or visiting my boy Harry in the pen. I would recommend biking here, not walking. Or, if you have the time, mail your equipment to them. I would only recommend walking if you’re a Manhattanite. Get out. Live a little, islanders.

i went to optimum today to pay my bill. when i was parked about to go into a parking spot, a suv backed into my car on the passenger side, slightly injureing my passenger. he claimed he did not see me. there was security but they did nothing, only pointing to a sign saying that they are not responsible for loss or damage to vehicles. I WILLNEVERGOBACKTHEREEVERAGAIN,
