The best bottom fishing boat in Brooklyn, hands down. If you are up for having a lot of fun & catching fish, this is the boat to fish with; they are professional and do their absolute best to make sure everyone goes home with fish. Also the crew is very funny, the food in the galley is on point and overall it is always a good time when I fish with them. I recommend this boat to everyone.

The ocean eagle v crew were amazing and very down to earth as well as professional. They took great care of us on board ship and the captain kept us constantly informed of the fishing conditions. When the fishing got slow in one area he moved us to another location immediately. The food available for purchase was also reasonably priced and delicious! Thanks to the whole crew… will be back for sure!!!

I was offended by the mate on the Marilyn Jean IV so I took at shot at the OCEAN EAGLE. I paid $ 60 and it was worth it, the ride to the fishing ground was about an hour and pass Sandy Hook. The mates were friendly and made the experience better. I would go this boat again.

Best fishing boat in sheepshead bay. I fished on every boat that sailed out of sb and ocean eagle is the best for both novice and pro. Super friendly crew with glen as 1^st mate. He might seen intimidating at first, imagine a 300lb big white guy in your head, but he’s very friendly and funny. Price is competitive with everyone else, it does get crowded on the weekends but not sardine like. Always comfortable moving about. Lastly, it’s the fish. U are almost guaranteed to catch something. I been going with oe for 15 – 20 years and don’t recall ever was skunked. The captain will go out of his way to make sure everyone catch. In conclusion, friendly and knowledgable service+good price+ fishes to take home=happy customers. If u do go on the boat, please give glen a kiss but only if u r a male. That will make his day. Lol

Ocean Eagle V is a well run fishing boat with owners and crew who seem to genuinely care that their customers have a good time.
This boat specializes in bottom fishing for porgies and sea bass — and for blackfish (aka tautog) when they are in season, after Oct. 1. The occasional triggerfish or striped bass is also a possibility.
This is a good boat for boat novices and experienced fisherpeople:
– Crew members will demonstrate how to bait your hook, cast and reeling in your catch.
– Fishing poles are included in the $ 55 fee ($ 60 if you opt to enter the «pool,» a contest awarding cash to the person who catches the largest fish of the day).
– Each rig costs $ 2 and includes a leader, two hooks and a 6-​ounce sinker. The mate will also knot this onto your line.
– Cleaning and fileting of fish is done by the crew, on request, but you should tip for this service.
The galley (a kitchen on a boat) is stocked much better than I expected. Breakfast consisted of cheese omelets, pancakes and sausage. Lunch included meatballs, beans & rice and fried chicken. The afternoon snack smelled very sweet: deep-​fried cheesecake. All of this costs extra, of course. My only purchase of the day was a beer. Selection was limited to Budweiser, but at $ 2.50 a can, it was a refreshing and affordable treat.
Now for a brief discussion about the most important aspect of a day aboard the Ocean Eagle V: the hunt for fish.
Like a business that vows to take customers to see rainbows, tornadoes or unicorns, it is a real art to manage expectations when you have pocketed their $ 60 in cash. Ocean Eagle V does this pretty well.
The owner and captain, Capt. Greg Nardiello, gives passengers insight into his stream of consciousness by talking over the boat’s loudspeaker about what’s he’s seeing in his fish finder and other techie gadgets on the deck. So you can tell he is working very hard to position the boat along shelves, reefs and other spots where fish are biting. He speaks knowledgeably about drift, current and tide in a way that demonstrates he’s been at this for a while and knows better than anyone how to maximize the chances of catching a unicorn… er, fish.
Greg’s brother, Glen, supervises the crew. On the trip I took, on a Sunday in early September, Glen learned the name of every passenger and checked with us regularly to see how we were doing.
