I usually go to Relaxing on Smith, but I figured I’d try giving another neighborhood spot a go. I will definitely never return to No 1 Fresh again. The man who gave me a massage left the room at least five or six times to take phone calls, resulting in a skimpy, much less than hour long massage. The quality of the massage itself was quite good at times, but really inconsistent and sloppy. I have pretty low massage standards – I don’t care about a nice atmosphere, I don’t care about being in a room with lots of other people, but I do want to get my money’s worth without feeling like I spent fifteen minutes lying on a massage table waiting for the dude who’s supposed to be relieving knots on my back to get off the phone. When I went to pay, they told me that I would be charged two dollars extra to use a credit card, and I was so annoyed I didn’t even leave tip. More expensive than Relaxing on Smith, but with none of the positives. Pretty disappointing.

Overpriced for what it is. They also didn’t do the warm towel thing to wipe the massage lotion off at the end of the massage, which is oh-so-necessary when I’m going back out in my clothes. Do not want to feel stickyicky! The woman who did my massage was sort of awkward – when I pulled out my credit card to pay, she gave me a really weird look and told me it’s extra for a credit card, which is pretty standard at these Tui Na places, so I wasn’t surprised. Won’t be going back. I can get a much better TuiNa massage elsewhere, for cheaper. All that being said, the place was decorated well for a small«cheap» massage place.

I was coming home after a rather crummy week and decided to treat myself to a half hour back massage. I went to this location near my apartment. I usually go to Living on Smith but decided to give this a whirl. I was surprised to see that the rate for half an hour was $ 40. Kind of pricey — I think $ 26-$ 30 is the norm. But whatever, my back was snarled and I was in the mood. At first, things were good. They put me in the back(a couples massage room with an actual door — they only had two other beds) and a tall woman massage therapist came in. I told her where my back hurt and she set to. I could tell immediately that she was good at her job, and asked her to do a full hour. Five minutes later, I heard another customer come in and ask if my massage therapist was working. She left and a few minutes later the other woman came in. People, she was not good. She felt like she was just randomly poking at my back through the towel(it was so early into the massage that I was still in towel phase) She removed the towel and just let her fingers glide over my back. No pressure. I asked her to press harder. No result. I decided not to waste my money and told her I had changed my mind and could only do half an hour(the first time I’ve ever made this request.) She didn’t understand what I had said and used even lighter pressure. I asked her to use stronger pressure. No result. She did not understand. I then made, for me, a radical move and sat up. I told her I wanted to stop and would pay for 10 minutes or whatever it was. The other woman came in and asked if I wanted harder pressure. I told her I was unhappy and just wanted to leave. I was left to change back. At the end, they charged me $ 15. I’m chagrined that I had to abort my massage, but I was being offered an inferior product and had no way of communicating with my massage therapist. If you get the tall woman, your massage will probably be good. But for the money you can do just as well for less at other tui-na places in CG, and if you get the massage therapist I had, you are wasting your money.
