Mr. Appliance of Park Slope

Terrible service. I have a Miele dishwasher I needed service and apparently they are the only service in Brooklyn. After scheduling the appointment, the tech called me at 7am day off the appointment to tell me he wont’t make it and that he will call me to tell me which day he will make it. After waiting for 3 days their secretary called me and told me I live in the bad area for them, since they mostly service downtown (my apologies, obviously) and that they are the only people who service Miele so its up to me what I want to do. So for $ 110 I get no service and rude people.

Mr. Appliance was a delight to work with! They squeezed us in for same day service to fix our broken fridge. The technician came at the appointed time, called when he was on the way, and was friendly and efficient. Definitely five-​star service!

I called Mr. Appliance to fix my fridge that was not working in December. They came promptly and seemed to diagnose the problem and replaced the sensor they deemed faulty. Two weeks later the problem was back and they came back and tried replacing the sensors again.
Now two months later the fridge is not working again and they want to charge me another $ 110 service charge to come out when I have already paid $ 400 for the prior «repair». Clearly they do not stand by their work. They claim to guarantee their work for 90 days but their most recent visit was within 90 days (and the first visit just over 90 days). I don’t believe they diagnosed the problem correctly and now I am stuck having paid a lot of money and still not having a functioning fridge.
UPDATE: After I called another repair company they diagnosed the problem as the heater — not the sensors — leading me to believe the sensors were not a problem in the first place. Furthermore the repairman showed me how the sensors were replaced incorrectly and very sloppily. Mr. Appliance has refused to refund my money or come replace the sensors the proper way.

I just had a terrific experience with this company. I bought an apartment with a Viking oven that wasn’t working as well as it should and found them on Unilocal!From that moment on, I had a great experience. They contacted me with an appointment reminder, followed up with an email the day before, called right before coming (at exactly the time they said it would be), and gave me an estimate before doing the work. My oven is working great and I couldn’t be more pleased. Efficient, prompt, courteous … consider me a satisfied customer!

If it can be ‘pleasure’ to have an appliance repaired, this was it.
My fridge went out two days before Christmas (of course). When I called Jenn Air, which is now owned by Whirlpoo/​Maytag*, they gave me three area ‘authorized’ repair companies. Having had nightmarish experiences with manufacture recommended repair services in the past (A & E was the WORST… but I digress), I used my noodle and looked each of them up on Unilocal.All three had the same horrific reviews – incompetence, overcharging, no– shows, etc. So I looked on Unilocal for well reviewed repairmen. I called Precision first, and Eddie was professional, prompt and honest but couldn’t do my repair. He recommended Mr. Appliance. Golda, the courteous woman in the office, gave me an appointment for the next day and Chaim, the repairman, came during the 4 hour appointment window. He was professional and efficient, and quickly diagnosed my issue. He said he’d return the following day to fix the problem. He did and he did and I’m one happy camper!
In a hundred words or less, Mr. Appliance was professional, honest, prompt and efficient. They got the job done on-​time, correctlly and for a reasonable price. I will definitely be using them again.
*ps, remember that Maytag repairman commercial? That service and reputation are relics of the past. Sigh.

Our dishwasher wasn’t draining properly, so we wanted to have it looked at before buying a whole new one. Our technician, Chaim, arrived very promptly for our appointment. He was really helpful and quick to diagnose the problem. He figured out that the motor on our machine is starting to go, but gave us some really helpful tips to work around the problem and get some more use out of the machine until we have to replace it. He gave us a great rate too. I would definitely use them again.

WAY overpriced. Non respondent to emails after money was paid. Would never use again
