Established in 1983.

We started this business more than 25 years ago with one truck, and we are proud to have built it into the largest and most trusted moving and storage company in the New York tri-​state area. Free move in was cool. But they changed owners and raised the prices and hired new people it seems. They won’t discard anything for you either. I said I want to throw out half my shit and move to a smaller unit. Last owners said they would charge me however much to throw it out and that was fine. But new owners said tough shit. So I have to rent a car, pick up the garbage and drive it where? Kind of shady. Just suckering me into keeping the space. Last time I went in the Elivator wouldn’t work. It’s NEVER works right. And I was stuck in it then the girl at the front desk came on and rode me to a random floor. Said I can go to my floor when she’s done. She got out and when I said it still isn’t working she acted like I was really bothering her got mad at me and kept saying to just push the button? Like I didn’t think of that. So when I tried and didn’t work STILL. I got back out and yelled to her it wasn’t working and she ignored me and just kept walking! So I had to walk all the way down from 8th floor. Long story short go somewhere else. They don’t care about you. They just want your money.

I haven’t used this service but I’m confident in saying Im not their biggest fan. Here’s why:
Their hours were incorrectly listed on Google so when I arrived in my Zipvan packed with home goods, I was S.O.L. Sure, it’s probably my fault for not cross-​checking the company’s website for their hours, but what I’m more peeved with is the interaction that followed. Lucky for me I happened to arrive just as they were closing and was greeted with eye rolls and yelled at to leave. I’m sure there was a more hospitable manner with which to handle an error of miscommunication.
My money and my goods are now safely housed elsewhere.

Solid moving company packs up the items efficiently and well, very quick and easy to, bit higher price than others but worth it especially if you have fragile things, Kat was my coraspondant and she was very responsive and helpful

Total scam. Scam, scam, scam. Deceitful company.
First off, they were late. Not because of another job, but because no one added me to the schedule. I had the order receipt and confirmation number luckily. Had I not called to check in, they would have never came. Maybe that would have been better, but I’m leaving the country tomorrow and felt like I didn’t have a choice.
So, I was told free pick-​up. I think that means they show up, that part is free. Because on the reservation part of the website it does say «Do you want to schedule a FREE pick-​up?» Yes, yes I did. The moving part is not, and that would have been nice to know. It’s $ 105/​hr plus minimum drive time of 1 hour so that’s another $ 105. In total it was three hours of unexpected fees. I would’ve been more open to paying for moving if I actually knew about it.
They already charged me for the first month of the unit, but had me fill out the form to pay for the unit so hopefully they will not double charge me.
Movers were ok, one guy moved everything and the other guy just put stickers on and filled out forms. I felt bad for the one guy who moved everything by himself, including a bed which I hope was not dragged down the street. I didn’t look because I was quietly livid about the extra $ 315 I was spending.
My recommendation is if you want to use this company call and get all the details before. The website is not helpful. Good luck if you use Moishe’s.

been with them almost a year and half,. . they are the worst. . they raised the rent on me for no reason, like 15 bucks a month… they charged my card almost 500 dollars, they were not supposed to. . the day the movers they sent came to take my things to storage during the move they called me and said they were closing earlier than planned and the movers had to leave without taking all my things…ugh they are the worst THE WORST!!!

I should have known it was too good to be true. I got storage for three months minimum at ~$ 100/​month for a room big enough to store a queen bed. The movers said they would pack and move the furniture themselves, which they did.
When I got my furniture out, I saw that they used the wrong tape that wasn’t supposed to be used on wood. Now the wood of my bed is damaged and full of tape residue.
Also, my boyfriend went to empty and close my account one day early. They said he needed written confirmation from me to do this, which is fine, but they also threatened to charge me for an extra month if I didn’t provide the confirmation or close the account in two hours even though I had the unit for an additional day. Shitty customer service.

WORST STORAGE AND MOVING EVER! They ruined so many of our belongings. They wrapped all our furniture improperly so the fabrics were all damaged. They taped everything too tight so silk velvets and velvets were ruined.
Wood items were scratched and ceramic pieces were chipped and broken.
They also stored all our rugs improperly and so they all had damage that could not be repaired. Such a loss for us. In addition all our cashmere sweaters were eaten by moths in the worst way, every single piece of cashmere was ruined!
HORRIBLE!
They also do not bill properly. Every month I would not have even received my bill for storage and they would say the bill was late and charge so many extra fees. THIS WAS THE WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE OF OUR LIFE! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE THE WORSE IN EVERY WAY FROM BEGINNING TO END!

In Brooklyn, there is an auto repair place that blocks access to the garage. It makes it very hectic to move thing in and out. LOTS OF BEEPING and traffic jams. Also the elevator is a pain. You have to hold the button until the gate closes, sometimes it opens back up again. Something they should try and fix.

They are so good at English that they told me they will come between 9:00 — 11:00 and I wait till 10:30 make a phone call for checking, they tell me they gonna come close to 13:00; when I ask what they mean by that they said: I think this guy don’t understand English and we have some problem here.
What should I do? They never give me a phone call about the delay, so funny!

Our storage unit (at chelsea mini storage) told us they were renovating and we had to vacate in 30 days. I called around and Moishe’s would move our unit for free of we committed to 3 months up front. Three guys showed up on time moved our stuff out of the unit and into the truck, then unloaded it into their grand ave location in Brooklyn. I didn’t expect too much from a free move so make sure your stuff is packed properly, but I do have to say they packed our flat screen TV up safely and everything seemed to make it ok. Cheaper than chelsea and with the free move it was worth it.

I give moishes 1 star. If I could it would be no stars. They have dusty storage units, they over charge you, they also aren’t helpful and It’s been a month since I vacated me unit and they said they will give me a $ 69.00 refund and I’m still waiting on it. I’m glad I vacated my storage unit. Cube Smart is way better!

I don’t recommend this company. They somehow «forgot» to charge my card for the first month’s rental and only noticed 3 months later. With the «realization» came a number of late fees and a refusal to itemize the charges. Stay away!

The move went fine, although a couple things got a little damaged. They do offer repair if some of your furniture get’s banged up or scratched, looks as good as new.
Also, they lost a blanket which they had reimbursed me the money, I had to wait a few weeks for that check. Probably better than other movers as far as reliability.

Do not use these guys. The whole experience was terrible. The people are rude and are idiots. This seems like a very disorganized business. I would not use them again.
When they came to get my stuff, they were late and very rude and told I had to upgrade to a bigger unit. I just called to have my stuff taken out and they said I owed a balance for 2 months and that my card had been declined. I forgotten that my bank issued me a new card and when I asked why they didn’t try to contact me, they said they sent invoices to my OLD address, where they moved me out of, even though I had given them an updated address. Why didn’t they call my phone number on file? And they said they can’t take my new card info over the phone and I have to fill out a form. I understand for security sake why you would do that, but seems ridiculous, unnecessary and just annoying at this point.
I don’t write reviews at all and felt compelled to write one.

Moishe’s Movers really is «as good as it gets!» The movers had a big job ahead of them and they went through the entire day with a smile on their face. You could tell that they were so professional and experienced. I’ve used movers in the past that I still have nightmares from, but Moishe’s was the best experience ever.

I used Moishes to move from CT to the West Village. The movers showed up at my house 25 minutes early (I was still putting tape on the final boxes) and had their truck loaded in a mere 30 minutes. 5 minutes after they were scheduled to be there, they were done and my belongings were on the way to the Village.
I drove in and met the truck. The foreman took a look at the incoming space and then headed outside to start the move in. Again, these guys were like machines. It took maybe 30 minutes to unload everything (so with travel time in between the entire process was about 4 hours) and I had a very neatly stacked mountain of boxes to unpack.
The crew was professional as was the person with whom I scheduled my move. Nothing was broken or damaged and by the end of the weekend i was happily moved in without a box in sight.
Not the cheapest quote I received but had a flat rate move and what I was quoted was what I was charged. Would use them again (but hope I never have to move anytime soon).

Just used Moishe’s to move our 2bdrm apartment last week and had a thoroughly positive experience. We discussed & received a quote from the office, and had everything in writing days before the move. We found the price to be fair (for NYC) and far lower than other estimates we received from competing companies. The day before moving day, they dropped off a dozen free boxes, which really came in handy. On moving day, 3 men arrived with a large truck before the scheduled time to secure parking and be ready in time. They came up, reviewed the things to be moved and discussed an action plan with us. They started quickly and packed/​unpacked the truck methodically and efficiently. All three men were easy to talk to, especially the main contact person. All furniture was wrapped in blankets and plastic, and arrived in shape it left in. The final price was exactly the quote we received, and there were no hidden/​surprise charges you hear horror stories about. Altogether extremely pleased with our experience and I would definitely recommend them to others.
