My review is about a nice experience, that can make a difference between a Like and Dislike a place. I found shoes that I really liked, and when I asked for my size I was answered that they don’t carry my size. I kept looking for shoes, and found a different pair that I didnt like as much, but I needed running shoes ASAP. I went to a different salesperson and asked for my size, he found my size. Then I asked why they don’t carry my size for the other shoes, and he said: WEDO! To make long story short, 5 stars for that nice young lady, took off a star for the previous saleswoman. Conclusion: Always ask twice!

Terrible & Disgusting to deal with the dumb people who work here. I bring back the wrong receipt & just exchanging, not asking for a refund. They act & look at me like I’m trying to rob them & give me a hard time for 30 minutes. I told them to check my reward card, so they can see the purchase, they said no. They did do an exchange after driving me insane.

Never in my life have I been around more of a bunch of clueless morons in my life. Between this place in BayRidge and the one on 34th street, Modells should really get their shit together. This place is understaffed and they’re all idiots. The one on 34th is overtaffed with nothing but hood rats. Never will I ever spend another dollar at this shithole.

I was in the market for zip-up hooded sweatshirts and found some nice Adidas sweatshirts in the men’s dept. I was very disappointed, however, that these are not 100% cotton, especially given the price.

This is my go to Modell’s for all my sports gears, work out stuff, and my sneakers. This Modell’s has a wide variety of products. They also renovated the bottom floor, but it is mostly turned into a floor for women’s workout products. The new floor looks nice and very bright. The prices are very reasonable and there is always some good weekly deals going on. Of course, follow the seasons. I expect to see the summer products start to go down in prices while the fall and winter products go up prices again. The customer service is not that amazing. The staff seem to be in their own world and mining their own business. Overall I like still like coming here and I get to build up points on my Modell’s card. I currently have 1323 points. Just used my $ 20 off my next purchase to buy some fall workout clothes. =)

I attempted to enter this modells today with my bicycle as there isn’t anywhere outside to lock up my bike. My friend initially gets in with her bicycle and then when I’m about to enter the door, this security guard comes storming forward shoving my bike backwards and yelling at me about how I am not allowed to bring my bicycle in as modells is getting sued or something over bicycles. I am not an unreasonable person and I just said okay, but can you at least let me through the entrance first so I can exit through the exit door as there was a guy behind me also trying to come in. Instead he continues to yell at both my friend and I shoving me out the door. It was incredibly embarrassing and demeaning. Never ever going to any modells again after that experience.

I’ve been to this particular Modell’s a lot since its a very reasonably priced large store in my immediate vicinity. The other day I took advantage of a discount coupon that I had for my birthday as a person who uses one of their free«store cards». Anyway, upon arrival I noticed how the store had taken over a lower level store that was right next to it and expanded its clothing lines. It seemed very nice and allowed for the rest of the merchandise to be a little better spaced on the floor. I will admit that I do not always find the staff to be very helpful as they mostly seem like younger people just looking to get finished with the day to do other things but there are the out of the box examples. I found my sneakers on my own after asking where I could find a particular kind and being pointed in the direction I needed to go without an aisle or section. Oh well. Despite that I found what I liked the most and was out of the place in about ten minutes. It was early in the day and not crowded. I do recommend the store for some quick sports related items and clothes and can say that the expansion looks very nice.

It’s actually a large Modell’s and it might be because there is an escalator that leads up to a 2nd floor, which makes its size deceiving. As for the stock, the few times I have been here they have always been fully stocked on all items from sporting equipment to apparel. In fact, I think this is the most well stocked Modell’s I’ve ever been to in Brooklyn and NYC. In addition, their stock of items, specifically apparel, are kept pretty clean compared to other stores. The one gripe I have with the location of this store is just the parking. It can be quite difficult to find a parking space on 86th Street during all times of the day. There are always cars staked out waiting for people to leave. If you want to find parking I recommend parking a few blocks away or on side streets instead of right in front of the store. There are usually spots 2 – 3 blocks away where people actually aren’t looking for parking spots. Honestly, most people can use a little exercise so parking a few blocks away is not going to kill you. Plus it will save time in the long run instead of circling forever trying to find a parking spot smack dab in front of the store.

This modells is not very big but they have a nice selection of things. Whenever I go there I always find something that I am looking for. I recommend this location and will be back!

Pretty organized with good weekly deals. Staff isn’t too helpful but there are some quality people who help. Follows the seasons and prices products accordingly and reasonably. When prices are good, I rack up the points on the Modells card. Can’t complain, a good place to pick up work out clothes.

I would barely give this chain 3 stars. The only reason I go to Modells is to get shirts, tanks and my underwear. They do have some clearance items but I have been taught to do a careful inspection for any defects before purchase. This place used to have a good selection of blue jeans, but that’s not the case anymore. That really grinds my gears when I cant find Levis or Wranglers. Oh but we have Dickie’s, who the fuck wants a Dickie’s. Oh well.

Small on the outside, HUGE on the inside. This is a great sporting goods store. I forgot what this location used to be, the ceiling is veryyyy nice with some kind of painting and the architecture is nice… very weird for a sports store. Modell’s pretty much has everything you need sports-wise. Shoes, bats, jerseys, socks, boxing gloves, you name it. Also the staff is very helpful(although not the nicest, i will admit). Also what’s great is that this store is never packed so no lines, no wait, get in, get out, done!

Called on Monday July 5th… no answer. Does anyone know if this Model’s sells bikes? Thanks, Bonnie

I like this place for the convenience and the helpful staff. I went in here yesterday, to buy some ringer T-shirts, and had 2 people ask me if I needed any help. They were friendly and pleasant. The check out was quick, and the cashier communicated with me, which I like. It has a wide array of sporting goods, clothing and sneakers. (I usually shop here for simple sportswear) All in a good spot with helpful people, where you can find what you need.

I buy shoes here because my commute takes me right by it. Its pretty gross(dirty), and I’d recommend Paragon @ union square unless you happen to be in the area.

This is one of the bigger Modell’s. The lines can get long but they move pretty quickly. Usually I come here for sneakers they have pretty deals if you don’t care about having the latest ones that come out. Staff is relatively friendly and will help you find what you want.

I know I wrote a review for the location near grand central but that one sucked! This place is biiiiig! I bought my softball gear here. Im delusional and think I can play softball again after 7 years of doing absolutely nothing. There’s a big selection of goods. Actual sporting goods… what a concept. The lines move fast, there’s actually sales on stuff you’d buy AND… AND…look up! the ceiling is like going to the sistine chapel! INMODELLS! They bay parkway location is pretty good too. Helpful staff.
