After 5 years of having my car serviced at MINHS, I feel I should warn anyone who is thinking of taking their car to MINHS: you will be spoiled forever. For example: I’ve never had a mechanic send me a PDF report detailing their inspection of my car, complete with photos of the damage, leaks and other problems they discovered. They are honest, friendly and do great work fast.

My husband researched and found MINHS as it’s near to his job but I was on the fence about bring my vehicle to an outside non dealer mechanic due to past bad experiences. Well I just bought my GL 450 in for new brakes front & rear and dealt with Tam & Nick who were both very pleasant to deal with they both answered all my questions without being annoyed and getting an attitude. I was concerned about using a mechanic other than a dealer mechanic and they were very reassuring needless to say all is well and I’m very satified and will definitly refer them. My husband will also be taking his mini cooper in to them as well very soon.

We couldn’t have had a better experience at MINHS Automotive. We called them after receiving an outrageously expensive estimate from Audi Manhattan for replacing the battery ($ 570 = $ 230 battery + $ 340 labor) and repairing a faulty door lock ($ 600 = $ 100 cables + $ 500 labor, in addition to $ 200 for diagnosing the bowden cable to be faulty, allegedly).
MINHS greeted us politely, offered expert advice, then gave us an estimate of $ 360 ($ 265 Audi OEM battery + $ 100 labor) for the battery replacement and $ 109 for diagnosing the door issue. For that price, they removed the door panel, inspected the bowden cable, found it to be working fine, then ran a fault trace on the central lock system to determine that the door lock actuator was faulty. Their estimate for the door lock replacement was $ 520 ($ 310 part, $ 210 labor).
Needless to say, it was frustrating to find out that Audi Manhattan had misdiagnosed the true cause of the faulty door lock (and charged $ 200 for nothing), and provided a grossly wrong estimate ($ 100 cables vs $ 310 door lock) on the back of their misdiagnosis. We were ever more glad that we had pulled the car from their garage and given our business to MINHS instead!
As a courtesy, MINHS actually put the door back together at no extra cost so we could use our car over the weekend while they ordered the replacement door lock. The installation of the new door lock went smoothly, and everything works great now. They even called a couple of days later to make sure we were completely satisfied.
For Audi owners, this really is the place to go: MINHS are equipped with dealer tools, use only Audi OEM parts, and you spend about half the price of the dealer and actually get your problems taken care of. Highly recommended!

5 stars. We strongly recommend Minh’s Automotive. We’ve been taking our car to Minh’s Automotive for a long time now. After years of hit or miss work with NY mechanics, we are grateful to have discovered Minh’s. They bring the same level of excellence and care to our late model, family car that they do to high end, luxury vehicles. From repair work to oil changes to tune ups, they have always taken great care of our vehicles. Finding parts for our current car is difficult and Nick and Vinnie have always been able to locate whatever is needed and install it at a fair price and usually faster than they estimate. They always take the time to explain in detail what is needed, giving a printout of the estimate with photos of the areas and parts to be worked on. The mechanics at Minh’s are talented, efficient, and offer superior customer service. (And on top of that, the garage is always impressively clean!)

Great service! When do you ever feel like you have found a conscientious, attentive and honest car repair shop? I’ve taken my Volvo S40 and most recently my Jaguar X-​Type there and my experience has been fantastic. Nick, John and Tam have alwys explained every repair to us carefully. They fielded numerous phone calls from us, provided options and worked with us to make the repairs which fit our budget and advised us on what we can defer until a later date. VERY different from other shops, who will make every minor issue sound like a huge safety risk and twist your arm into pouring every single dollar in your car that they can squeeze out of you. Not here! They even threw a critical part in for free, when we declined a repair due to price concerns. They did that out of gratitude for our loyalty to them and because of their concern for the safety of our car. I highly recommend them.

Ive been going here for five years now. From your new york state inspection to oil change to major mechanical issues I feel likethese guys have my back.
I almost *didnt* want to write this review because i need them to stay a secret so I dont have to share them!
First they are professional and courteous with a positive attitude!
Second, they are thorough — i received a detailed diagnostic report with pictures detailing what needed urgent repair and what needed maintenance.
For all the people that felt that they got scammed, Although I agree that the prices are steep — if its what gets me quality service then I am in!

Nick and the team at MINHS are real professionals. I was lucky enough to find a great shop in NYC that has the knowledge of BMWs and can be trusted to get the job done at a reasonable price. This time around they did their best to accommodate my request to do some significant repairs without my having to return for another visit. I was treated fairly and the service is always top-​notch. An additional bonus is, I always get my car back after they’ve done a thorough wash. Sadly, that is not always the case with other shops. They run a very clean shop with a professional staff. I highly recommend them.

Had very prompt and professional service here. They gave me a comprehensive summary on the work my car needed, a specific timetable and didn’t hide any costs. If I called to check in and the original tech wasn’t available anyone else I spoke to was perfectly knowledgeable and had access to my repair record. They even rushed my work to make sure it happened in the same day.
I’d recommend booking a few days in advance as they are slammed usually. They are a smaller shop as well so not a ton of room, expect to drop your car off in front.
I had work done on a Japanese vehicle and they had an in house mechanic who specialized in my make and had a lot of insight into what to look out for.
Overall I’d recommend them to anyone.

I write this review, not with malice… but to warn car owners out there. This shop is not reputable and not trustworthy. It looks like the ideal import mechanic specialist, but they will bleed you dry. I was having problems with one of my bearings and drove the care into the garage to get it looked at. My mistake… never drive your car into the garage, because before I knew it, the tech/​owner told me that my ignition cylinder (the lock) was broken and the key wouldn’t go in. Now my car is in their show with all of the windows open and no way to drive it out. They start pressuring me that I have to clear out the bay and that the repair will cost $ 500+ dollars for the new hardware and to re-​code my key.
I never had any problems with my key… they clearly jammed something into the lock and sabotaged my car. I ended up pushing my car out of the garage and calling a tow truck to take me to my normal mechanic. So much for trying a new outfit.
Again, beware and read the reviews well. MINHS mechanics are crooks. Heed the negative reviews wisely and beware fake positive reviews.

I’ve had my car worked on several times over the last couple of years. I’m a BMW owner if that matters. First, the good news. They’re pretty good at what they do. Their garage is clean, their communications systems are top notch, and they are courteous. Every time I get my car back, I notice they clean up whatever they were working on better than if I had cleaned it myself. Once, I had them look at my engine and I noticed it was immaculate under the hood afterward the job was done. That’s attention to detail that I don’t even get at the dealer.
So, next is the not so great news. Their prices are inflated for some of the work they do. OEM cabin air filters cost 17 – 25 bucks a piece online. You can replace it yourself easily. They charge 95 bucks. That’s a pretty hefty markup for something that can be done in a minute. Maybe they charge to clean it thoroughly but I can live without that extra bit.
So what would I use them for? I would consider using them for complicated repairs and/​or DIY’s I’m just not willing to take the risk in doing myself. Air filters? Windshield wipers? Bumper parts replacement? CAI replacement? I did that myself and saved hundreds. Valve cover gaskets? Shocks replacement? I could do that myself but I’d rather have the pros do it for me lest I lose a bolt, fail to recognize any other issues, have the car fall on top of me, or create new issues out of ignorance.
Like I said. I think they know what they’re doing. They have a noticeable steady flow of European/​German cars lining up for repairs. But be prepared to pay a pretty penny for it.

Picked up my Mini Cooper S this morning, it runs just like new! Just an amazing experience. My service adviser has been keeping me updated while my Mini Cooper S was in repair. They tell you exactly what your car is needing at the moment of the diagnosis and what could potential wait until a later visit.
This is what I am looking for when going to a mechanic! They took the time to explain everything that was being done on the car and they promptly answered my numerous emails when asking for more details.
After a terrible experience at Mini Of Manhattan, I’m staying with MINHS Automotive!

UPADTE: I had earlier written a bad review, but the people at MINHS called me back to clarify things — it seems like we had a mis-​understanding. Just for that they get an A+ since it speaks volumes about how responsive they are. They are currently working with me to resolve some of the mis-​communication from both our end, and are helping me get a better view of the problems I am experiencing with the car.
Changed to a 4 since they are actually quite helpful — Vinny definitely came through for me — first off they fixed a rattling noise from the back suspension /​wheel in almost no time! Plus they quite rapidly helped me out right on the day when I was planning on taking a road trip — they got my car in the a. m and gave it a full checkup by the afternoon.
Convinced by some of the positive reviews I read about them I decided to take my 2008 Audi A3 (it has 35K miles on it) to MINHS for an assessment — the suspension seemed to rattle a bit, the air filter connection was loose, and I wanted a professional to give me a prognosis and possible fixes. In addition my NY emission check was almost overdue and they seem to be also offering that service for around 35 bucks.
I fixed an appointment over the phone: the person on the line was curt, polite and accommodating. Upon working with them, the mechanics are professional, listen to the specifics of the problem, and seem to do an in-​depth job trying to understand the issues. In my case, they are being really accommodating to help resolve the issue.
I will definitely go back to them to try and fix the issues.

These guys are crooks. We have been taking our car for the past 2 years and every time we had a slightly different issue. The only reason we kept coming back was an employee called Michael, who was always courteous and professional.
About a month ago we paid $ 850 for a new starter and battery change and the car died again 2 weeks later. We were promised they would cover the tow truck ($ 150 from Long Island) but then said the employee (Michael) who promised the refund had been fired and we would not get reimbursed.
When we got home we realized the GPS, cell phone chargers, GPS holders and a few other minor things had been stolen. We then called Minhs again, they requested a detailed list of the lost items with values and then said they couldn’t do anything for us. Stay away from this place. There must be an honest shop in New York elsewhere.

stay away from MINHS and fake Unilocal.My negative review of this place was deleted. how negative was my experience with MINHS, get a load of this after spending close to a $ 1000 on 2000 saab 9 – 5 wagon’s AC I was told by the mechanic that I should regulate the temperature by manually closing the vents. Once again do not spent your time on MINHS scam artist and do not trust Unilocal scam artist

I’ve been taking my 2008 Audi to MINHS for 3 years now. This review is way overdue. I usually see Vinny or Michael, but all the guys are great here. I moved to NY and after my warranty expired with Audi, I took a chance and brought my car to MINHS after reading reviews about their service on European cars in particular.
I love my car and it is spotless — even Vinny commented on our first meeting how the car was in meticulous form, inside out. So I’d like to keep it that way. You can trust these guys 110%. I’m a girl and do not feel intimidated bringing my car here instead of an Audi dealer. You will pay double for a synthetic oil change at Audi.
From a tyre and oil change to yearly inspections and everything in between, MINHS is the best, clean garage in Brooklyn — not dodgy at all. The prices are actually quite low — I paid half to replace an original Audi tyre than I would at the dealer — thank you, BQE potholes. Go to MINHS, ditch the dealer!

Took my car back for some additional servicing and got a bit worried when I was told there are some other problems they want to look into. At first I reacted that this was another typical mechanic scam but cautiously went ahead and gave them the go ahead to diagnose the issue.
When I went to pick up the car at the end of the day, I was quite surprised how honest they were. They said that they failed to diagnose the issue and did not feel they could charge me for their time. They even offered to hand wash my car.
These guys are definitely trustworthy! Five stars!
