They take so long to deliver your food. And when it’s time to order your food the music Is so loud they never hear what you saying, you have to repeat yourself just so they can hear you. Or they would have to put someone else on the phone who can hear you or understand what you are saying. Other than that the food is delicious.

Bad delivery! I waited 2 hours for my order. I couldn’t believe that the food came messy! This 2 stars are for food taste because the food is good tho!

Exceptional and huge Dominican breakfast. Salami, eggs, fried cheese, and the best mashed plantains I have ever had. Nothing fancy, but a friendly and comfortable neighborhood place. Makes me wish I lived in this neighborhood.

The food just getting«nastier» and«nastier» if that’s a word. My food was flat out nasty. They gave me so much rice with a scoop of red beans that was watery and the Pernil was all skin no meat. I’m so mad I wasted my $ 7… Mind you the waitresses attitudes are disgusting. If you don’t come in there talking Spanish they act like they don’t want to help you. All the women in the back serving the food purposely ignore you for countless minutes before they decide to take your order. The neighborhood is Caribbean based but the servers come off prejudice towards the blacks in the neighborhood in my opinion. They just lost a customer.

The food is actually pretty good, most of the time, and the prices are unbeatable all the time. My gripes: –the service is horrendous, and the staff don’t seem to care –a small portion of the time you get the wrong food, or just bad food. The roast pork is delicious, but only 75% of the time. The maduros only about 50%. –i called in an order online, was told it would be ready in 5 minutes. I walked in 20 minutes later and was informed(after waiting at the counter for legit 10 minutes), that they would have to prepare the maduros because there weren’t any. 10 minutes later my order is ready, but surprise, they gave me tostones instead of maduros. Still worth it for the roast pork, but seriously guys, get your sh** together.

I can’t help it… I love Spanish food and I have to admit I’m a Soup Slut… Coming to this place I get the satisfaction of getting both. The Spanish meal are rich in flavor and reasonable priced for the portions you get. The Spanish Style Chicken Soup… Is a must for me. I don’t need to be ill to have… And the best part they have soup as soon as the restaurant opens. I don’t have to wait until 11. which I hate… No Soup Nazi here… All love and Flavor

The food is great here. The environment is great. I haven’t the chance to dine in yet. I’ve had the fried pork and the bake chicken with rice and beans. And it was great. Definitely will go back.

I ordered the Hen stew and it was phenomenal! The meat was tender and flavorful, the rice was fluffy and the stewed pinto beans were just delectable. The food was delivered it just under 35 minutes, great timing!!! This is my new favorite place. I can’t wait to try other items on the menu.

I live in the neighborhood, so whenever me and the family are all home and no one wants to cook breakfast we order from melany… Me and the sis always orders mangu, salami, eggs, fried cheese with red onions… it’s so delicious. The mangu is moist and hot it’s supposed to be, with much flavor, no need for salt& pepper or adobo… And the red onions gives it the kick it needs. My mother orders the Americana, which is eggs, bacon and fries with your choice of bread with coffee.

Real good authentic spanish food. Got grilled chicken with rice and beans. Very good, very filling. Enough for two meals. Casual spot. Would come back for another inexpensive meal.

Love there lunch specials! Large amount for a very fair price. Can be quite busy at times. There Breakfast is also great. But There service is unexplanatory. They need lessons on customer service. Guess I cant have my cake and eat it to with this one. Thats the only reason they were given 3 starts

I’ve only been here a few times to get lunch to go. Those $ 6 lunches are hard to beat. You get your pick of rice, beans and whatever selection of meat they’ve cooked. Chicken, beef, etc. I’m not going to lie… I’m not sure what all of them are but I just point to whatever looks good and it usually works out for me. Meat and rice are flavorful and overall, very filling. A good local lunch spot.

I can’t lie the food is 3⁄5 but the customer service on the phone and delivery time of 1hour and 15 mins was very disappointing. i hope the owner sees this and fixes this problem. i had to call 3 time to verify if my order left and they kept saying«2 minutes papi» 30 mins in.

This place has good food for cheap! I usually get the half roasted chicken, with yellow rice and beans for my daughter and I. This is dinner for 2 nights for us. All for $ 8. Can’t beat that. And because it’s real food, it reheats well(unlike Chinese food). If you actually go inside the restaurant, it’s very blah. And when placing your order over the phone, the person that answers never speaks english. That can be quite annoying. I’ve been coming here since I moved into the area 3 years ago and I will continue to frequent this place until I move. Overall Rating: B

Just moved to the area and Melany is on my corner. They have both dine in and take out, as well as delivery I think… but I haven’t picked up an actual menu yet. Basically I just wander in there and yell out my order since the counter is arranged in such a way that you cannot see the face of the person helping you for 90% of it, plates and bric a brac are piled high around the food trays, past the register, and only really end when you reach the end of the counter(just shout or crouch down and peek at them through the glass, they’ll get it!). Most of the food is buffet style, in heated trays behind the counter, so keep that in mind when you’re ordering. My roommate got the shrimp salad and was disappointed(though the potato salad was actually good), but I’d suggest you go with what you know is gonna be good in a place like this, the hot and savory dishes that can hang out for awhile and still be delicious. I always get the rotisserie chicken with rice and beans and it does NOT disappoint. Not sure if things have changed since April N. went here, but my experience has been that its $ 5 for a quarter chicken and dump truck load of rice and beans. Honestly, they could be giving me more chicken than a quarter, I just know that whatever I’m getting makes me feel like I’m going to need to run a marathon afterward to work it off. Service is of the curt nature you’d expect from this kind of joint, unless you’re a local or a Latino and then it seems to be a pretty familial atmosphere, but they get the job done. Added bonus is that they’re open until 1am, and the later you go the more of a party it seems to be in there. They have beer and wine for dine in or take out. An ideal spot for late night soul food, pick up some rotisserie chicken with rice and beans, grab a beer, and enjoy.
