Meena house is my favorite hookah lounge in bay ridge to go to. It’s a very laid back place compared to others in the area that have blasting rap music and large groups of kids acting crazy. Not only is it a nice laid back place the prices are really good here. You can get a hookah on a fresh fruit for $ 15 and and mint tea for #3. They also use real charcoal here and they come and check on it often compared to other places I’ve gone and you have to ask them to come and change it. The food is also good I’ve tried a Kofta sandwich and its $ 8 dollars with fries. The best part is you feel very welcoming when being there. Once Meena gets to know you she will always remember you and your order.

Egyptian tea is great! It will cost you appx. 4 dollars. You can get fresh fruit hookah for 12 dollars. What makes this place special is the lady that owns it. She is so kind and nice and welcoming. It is usually full with the usual people that go there. Very cozy they have dominoes and cards to play and relax. I’ve been there a few times. Its nicer than other hookah places in that if you have a friend that just wants to sit there they don’t throw them out just because they don’t order or smoke hookah!

Paid a visit recently and was disappointed by the quality of the hookah. It has really gone downhill. I have a feeling that it’s because it is no longer made by Egyptians. Meena is still there and still as sweet as a host can be, but they really need to have at least one person onsite who can make a proper hookah.

Just found this place last night. great hookah. For a hookah bar(where food is usually expensive), I ordered a delicious lamb meatball hero with French fries for $ 8.

Its not all that bad a shisha joint although there are now lots more better ones popping up on this side of the Ridge. In fact there’s something of an invasion sweeping across the neighborhood. An arab invasion: stores, eatieries, salons, fashion. 5th Avenue &69th seems to be the locus of it all; the most thronged; the most sprawling; the most packed. Late nights on fri/sat it can get a little dicey; as groups of teens(of any ethnicity, mind you) seem to congegate there looking for trouble. Right in the middle of all this sits Meena House café. Sorry but thanks to the location, I just didn’t find it all that relaxing. The management and the clientele are quite nice – as most Arab people are in Bay Ridge, actually. There’s just too much bustle outside – taxi company next door; derelicts on the corner. 9⁄10 times I will choose one of the others down the street or mosey all the way over to 3rd Ave. One thing which really bugged me: Meena once hung a large American flag in their window as a display and they hung it totally backward. And no one realized it. I’m not a fan of flags; I’m not big on nationalism or patriotism; but I am a fan of doing something the right way. It just looked awful.

Ok. So I worked across the street from this place for a few months and just assumed it was a shady old man-ish hookah bar. SONOT! I mean, yes when you walk in there’s smoke all over the place, but let me tell you, the Egyptian food here is DEE-LISH! and AUTHENTIC! It’s so hard to find authentic Arab cuisine in this town that doesn’t cost something absurd. Not to mention the hookah was fantastic as was their Morrocan tea(a very, very big plus in my book). The Maître d’ was so sweet, and so attentive to our needs, she made us feel very at home. This place does feel like you’re in Meena’s house. No joke.

Definitely one of the best shisha cafes in brooklyn! regular shishas cost $ 8, and fresh shishas cost $ 15. been going to this café for almost a year now. service is great. they usually provide fresh coals without you having to ask for it. food is great too. the best item on the menu has to be the«fresh lemon juice»!!! its just amazing. the café itself is just ok… not exactly a place you’d go to on a date, but if you just wanna chill and have some shisha, this is the place to go!
