Maroon Sausage Company specializes in fresh Jerk Chicken Sausage. We’re focused on three flavors; Mild Jerk Chicken, Spicy Jerk Chicken and Pineapple Jerk Chicken. Our sausage is made with all natural chicken thighs, our special jerk seasoning and a pork casing. That means no steroids, MSG or other weird stuff that other companies put in sausage.

As a small socially responsible company Maroon Sausage Company is committed to contributing a portion of its profits to non-​profits organizations that fight against human-​trafficing and slavery.

History

Established in 2013.

Maroon Sausage was created in a collision of cultures that can only happen in a place like New York City, where people from around the country, and the world, come to share in each others’ cultural experiences. That being said, the jerk chicken spice blend used in our sausages came about in a very natural way – in the kitchen of a couple in Brooklyn. One of whom is originally from the Chicago area, where people eat lots of sausage, the other with roots in Jamaica, where people often use jerk. And there you have it – jerk chicken sausage.

Meet the Business Owner

Howard Allen L.

Business Owner

As a designer and creative director, Howard Allen has worked within some of the largest brands in the world. As a consummate foodie, Howard decided to stretch his creativity into a new venue in 2013: the kitchen. As a huge fan of jerk chicken and Jamaican food in general, he decided to create a new version of Jamaican fast food – the jerk chicken sausage. After perfecting his recipes for spicy, mild and roasted pineapple jerk chicken sausage, he used his expertise in marketing, branding and design to create an experience that goes beyond just your taste buds.

Prior to joining CBRE as Creative Manager, Howard was Senior Design Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing design leadership and directing the implementation of the PwC brand across every touch point.

Howard’s other significant brand experience includes News Corp, Columbia House and AOL Moviefone, many of which were his clients during the five years he was principal of a design firm.
