Marlboro Car Service

By far my worst cab experience ever! after calling my cab the dispatcher told me my cab would be a white Honda. I proceeded to stand in front of my house after a timely fashion my cab came a little after five minutes which is what the dispatcher told me but I’m not mad at that it’s expected. What’s not expected is to be racially profile because of where I live and how I look. so as car 13 proceeded to pull up to my house I see he stops I then proceed to walk into the middle-​of-​the-​road and wave at him because At this moment it is clear that he’s at the wrong House number. the driver looks at me and does nothing*. I stand there for a few I’m looking at him then I walk back onto the sidewalk at this moment I don’t think that’s my cab I then see him pull up one house up and honk his horn so now I know that’s my cab. I then have to get back on my phone call the dispatcher to tell the dispatcher that he’s on my block but is not coming to me or in front my house I then here the dispatcher tell him you’re in the wrong spot that’s the guy down the block. I then get in the cab proceed to my destination after waiting another four* minutes for the driver to attempt to put the location in the GPS. I say to the driver sir if you can’t do it I know where I’m going you can just take this way. upon almost reaching my destination the drive is driving in the middle of the road I told him you have to merge left to make the left into the mall. the drive does not hear me or want to understand me. I then have to yell for him to merge into the left lane to make the left at the light. now after merging he seems to be yelling at me in the midst of all of that when the light changes he makes an illegal turn and now has us T-​bone* style stopped* in the middle of the highway and the roadway at the side of the mall. I then proceed to jump out of the cab because at this point my life* is at stake. I then proceed to walk to my business while calling the dispatcher to let the dispatcher know that he has to tell his driver to drive into the mall to get paid because I will not be going back into his cab or risking my life for his driver. I then had to call the dispatcher three times for him to make his cabdriver who I’m sure was calling the police* on me because he thought I didn’t want to pay him. to come back to actually get paid which I did pay* them. Please do not use this cab service ever thank you!

EXTREMELY RUDE DISPATCHER unhelpful got lost, driver refused directions even when lost preferred to waste time and drive random service roads felt unsafe a lot didnt make sense

Came on time, dispatcher was very polite and professional. Would gladly use their service again. Fast, prompt and polite, something that usually does not happen in New York City.

Why oh why did I try them again? Because they’re close and I figured they’d have to be better than last time. Once again the car was late. Once again the driver had no information from the dispatcher, who I had given all the info too. Once again the driver was talking on phone part of the ride. And once again I feel that I am paying too much for not enough. Back to Eastern for future car service needs, even though they’re farther away.

Service by the driver was terrible. He was rude and made me take my own bags out of the trunk! I am not expecting 5 star service from this particular service but I am paying my money and I expect some type of general good service. I call in to file a comaint and was rushed off the phone. I will not use this car service again.

I got in the car and the guy said it would be 16 bucks. We drop off my boyfriend who is on the way to my house and keep driving without a word. The guy ends up going the completely wrong way taking the highway to a different neighborhood (mind you this is 1:30AM. Little me is thinking I’m going to get killed) because the guy «misheard the address». We pull up to my house and now he said it’s 20 bucks because we dropped off my boyfriend. Which was ON THE WAY TO MY HOUSE and he even went the wrong way causing me great inconvenience! Don’t think I didn’t snap a picture of your identification IQBAL! 5 406 800 license #. Do not trust, shady!

Unreliable and dishonest.
I live three blocks away from these guys, so I use them when other car services don’t pick up. Even though they always have drivers waiting at their shop, they can’t seem to get a car out to me in under 10 minutes.
More than once they’ve told me a driver was already on the way when I’ve called after waiting a while, I guess not realizing that I can look down the street and see that nothing’s coming.
Don’t use them unless nobody else is available.

On May 24, 2013, I was a passenger in a Marlboro car that was in an accident. The driver of the car hit the driver’s side of another car, totaling both vehicles. He seemed unsure of himself and distracted. I sustained a concussion and the driver and front-​seat passenger in the other car were taken to the hospital. One of the first things my driver did was phone the base. However, they did not ask to speak with me, and no one from Marlboro ever got in touch with me to ask about my well-​being. I later learned that — like most community car services — Marlboro does not insure its drivers. Rather, the drivers carry their own individual insurance. Marlboro has been rude and unhelpful to me in this matter. I cannot recommend them.

I’ve used them multiple times for 4am pickups to the airport; 10am rides with huge amounts of stuff to Williamsburg; and quick trips around the neighborhood. Always on time, quotes the right price, polite drivers and clean cars. My only gripe is they will drive you to Williamsburg but they won’t come pick you up! Secondary minor gripe is that one of the dispatchers is gruff and cranky, but this is Brooklyn, I’m not gonna get upset over that.

Marlboro has been great for me every time I called. They are quick to answer, the cars are prompt, and they don’t overcharge. I think this is an underrated car service.

Called in advance and still waited 30 minutes which resulted in us missing our flight. Stay away and use someone, anyone else.

Great. Polite and civil! Only so surprising because other car services seem so likely to be so rude. I was happy that the guy on the phone was polite and friendly. Arrived in 7 minutes, as they said they would. Nice car and nice driver.

This seemed to be a good service at first, but then a series of weirdness and lateness killed for me.
I called for a mini-​van and they quoted me a high price for a 1.5 mile ride. I asked about it and the guy was immediately rude with me. They wanted $ 16. Called up another service and got a mini-​van for $ 8.
Another time I called for a car to the airport. I called about 10pm the night before for a 7:15am pickup to JFK. They said they’d call in the morning. 7:15am comes around and no call. I called them and the guy was very nonchalant about it and said the driver was on his way. Finally after another call at 7:25am the car finally came 7:30am.
Booo! Your customers keep you in business! You should be nice to them and treat them good. If it’s too much of a bother for you, you should get out of the SERVICE business.

Good service, nice drivers. Stopped by the night before I needed a flight to JFK. The next day, the driver was on time 6: am, helped me with my bags, and even waited for me as I locked my self out of my apartment. The drive was quick, he asked me about my flight, shared stories about his own experience of when he was locked out. LOL. Made me feel more relaxed cause I was a nervous wreck. Good people, and reliable. I won’t use any other service!

30 minutes late to pick me up, but I alloted time for that so it worked out okay — clean car, quiet driver, NPR on the radio — $ 35 ride from Prospect Park South to JFK, driver seemed overjoyed with $ 7 tip.

I live a few blocks away from Marlboro and travel not infrequently, so I’ve been searching for a good, reliable car service I can depend on to get me to the NYC airports.
Marlboro Car Service is not it.
I called here recently to schedule a car for a 7:30 a.m. flight, meaning I had to be at the airport by 6:30 at the latest. Marlboro said they’d be at my apartment at 5:45. I came outside to wait on them at 5:40. No car at 5:45. Or at 6. Or at 6:15. I called them and they informed me that, conveniently, someone else had appeared on my very block at 5:45 a.m. needing a ride to JFK Airport. I said, I was outside at 5:45, needing a ride to JFK Airport, and no one else was there. Oh, they said, you must have been looking away. We’ll send another car.
I got my husband to drive me to the airport. Right as we were getting in our car, the Marlboro car pulled up and the driver started yelling at me to get in now. Then the dispatcher called and said I had refused service and that’s why they wouldn’t take me to the airport.
I did make my flight, no thanks to them, but barely.
At any rate, I won’t be calling Marlboro again. And neither should you. Try Mex Express on Cortelyou Road instead. I know I will.

Stopped by here near the apartment I was staying to get a car to LaGuardia the next morning. The driver was right on time and very friendly. I’ll use them again the next time I stay in Brooklyn.
