I’m conflicted about my review, so here goes. Bought all my lighting here and got a fantastic price. End of story? No! One fixture blew. The maker said to refer item to store for warranty. I did and that’s when the issues ensued. The problem is that the store electrician is undoubtedly very busy and makes promises to come to the home(he is licensed) but can never set a date. So I went without light for a few weeks. But he did come eventually and fix my problem. And he refused payment. So therein lies the conundrum. In the end I decided that great lighting at a great price trumps one poor incident. As for the electrician, one can like him AND be annoyed by him at the same time! And as for the rude comments– YES– they can seem very rude, but I think the expression is more painfully blunt for no reason. They could all use a little sensitivity training. Would I buy here again? Yes– but I’d just hope for smoother travels.

Two things happened with Manhattan Lights recently that makes me want to update my review: 1. They got me a name-brand light fixture about 30% than the lowest price I saw online. 2. We had an issue with our track lighting that we bought several years ago(not from Manhattan Lights). We brought in an electrician. He said we needed a new transformer. I went to Manhattan Lights to get it. The guy at the store(the Russian guy, forgot his name) told me the issue is definitely not with the transformer and we should get a better electrician. So we got ANOTHER electrician. He said the track light was just broken and needed to be replaced. So my husband went to Manhattan Lights to buy a new one and spoke to Michael who said there’s no way the track light is broken«has anyone tried flipping the switch on the transformer?» Turned out, nope, neither electrician tried that. Manhattan Lights saved us like $ 1000, money we would have spent there. We were already customers forever but now we’re really their biggest fans. They know their stuff and won’t scam you.

Huge location for a lighting store! Unfortunately it’s a pricey option, with most of the items marked up around 10 percent(from my calculations, not a scientific one). It is a fun place to wander around and see all the fixtures, especially for kids rooms! They do have a wide variety and you may find stuff here that you couldn’t find in many locations, it’s kind of a wash with the higher prices. They are undergoing a big renovation but have remained open with a «construction sale.»

I usually don’t write reviews but wanted to this time. I had an issue with my ceiling fan that had no warranty any longer. I called the store and spoke to Michael. He came to my house and it took him no time to fix the fan. He didn’t even charge me! Very knowledable and honest person.

What horrible customer service! I placed an order online almost a month ago and I have yet to receive my order not to mention just an update. I finally called myself for an update, got transferred a few times just to be told I’d get a call back. A week later I’m still waiting!!! After calling again today I was told no one was in today that could assist and that I should call back either Sunday or Monday. I mean seriously. Is this how they treat customers??? Disgusting!!!
