Macy’s Vision Express

Has this place closed? The Macy’s is being renovated and told me Vision is no longer there. How can I get my records?

Just picked up my new glasses. Nose piece just fell off & won’t stay on. Even with a union plan I still had to kick out $ 350. All that money & handing out expensive glasses in a very unattractive CHEAP CASE. Shame on Macy’s, Plan or no plan be prepared to fork over from $ 300 on up. Unions & bi-​weekly pay periods most of us have already paid in advance. I believe most jobs know that we are being taken advantage of by paying higher out of pocket expenses.
Most people at the counter were in shock at how much they had to spend in order to see.
While waiting for service on 2 occasions customers were gasping at the prices quoted. $ 650, $ 800 up to in the thousands. Someone at the lab messed up my prescription & I had to wait an extra week. This office really stresses & wants you to pay for the extras. Like Progressive lens for magnifications that would require the wearer to use multiple pairs of glasses with no line biofocals. CRIZAL the scratch resistant, smudge proof & water repellent feature. This one was ok for me. Also Anti –Reflective Coating for night glare when driving. I have this feature also & its just not working. Extreme vision loss due to the headlights. The glare proof they are using is not strong enough. Also Transition Lense glasses change from clear lens in doors & dark sunglasses outdoors. At this store just regular service was given no extras, lady doctor is ok. One optometrist guy in the back area. 2 customer service ladies. One is extremely nicer than the other. Ms. P is very patient & pleasant. You’ll see for yourself. I’ve have had better service at other places with a wide inexpensive selection of glasses to choose from. An expensive place & years ago service was much better. From my experience I’m just saying. The 1 & 2 Star Reviewers are on point & telling the honest truth !!

My exam was fast and easy — Keesha was really great and helpful picking out a new pair of frames!

I had a wonderful experience at Macy’s Vision Express. Their patience is truly admirable. I stumbled in here after weeks of searching for a decent (& affordable) pair of glasses. I was given a complimentary eye exam, & the staff were EXTREMELY patient with me as I selected frames. Ultimately, I purchased Burberry frames (REASONABLY PRICED!) & my prescription was updated.
I must also add that when I came to pick my glasses up, they were a little loose & the technician (didn’t get his name) was very helpful. I asked for them to be tightened, & instead of just making them tighter, he very carefully adjusted them to be a perfect fit for my face.
Overall, the doctor, technician & saleswoman (Patrice) all contributed to my wonderful experience by means of their patience & attention to detail. I will DEFINITELY be returning!

The customer service is excellent and the staff is professional and very accommodating. keisha and Patrice are great and very knowledgeable of all their inventory and will find the perfect eyewear for your needs. this location also has the best selection of designer frames. if your in need of eyewear do your eyes right and check out this location! I had an awesome experience from start to finish at Macy’s Vision Express. Keisha helped bring me into the present with a stylish frame, the doctor was so thorough and he even gave me some tips for life as he did my examine (on my lunch break… lol) and Pat reminded me that I could use my Macy’s card so that I didn’t have t leave my home in Westchester to travel to Bklyn to pay deposit. Oh and Miguel was the icing on top… top notch service. These might seem like little things but I’ve been going to the same optical shop near Grand Central for decades. I still love them; however wanted to try something new. I felt like I was «seen» and heard and treated with such kindness, respect and professionalism that I want to recommend them to everyone. Also, I’m super picky so when I picked up the frames I was not sure how I would like them but gave myself a pep talk to expect the best and I was not disappointed. Will post a pic in the future. I’ve been a customer for year and a half at this location and I loved everything from the product selections to the customer service! They remember who I am when I go in every time. I’ve had an eye exam and purchased a Armani PX frame and with a
coupon I got my very first sunglasses with my PX just the other day D&G’s!!! I love them and I’ve been getting amazing compliments! (See the pic) thanks so much to the staff I’m a customer for life!

After 40 plus years of ²⁰⁄₂₀ vision I guess the inevitable caught up with me after a bout with hypoglycemia. Glasses!!!
While I do have insurance I quickly destroyed my first pair of glasses and could not wait 1 ½ years to get another pair.
I look into several places and the cost was ridiculous (about $ 1,000). OMG!!!
Knowing I couldn’t wait it out I decided to check out Macy’s since it had 4 stars.
I walked in the store to be greeted by Patrice. She was very pleasant and listened to my plight. She and my daughter helped me pick out the perfect frames. She was patient and honest. I tried on several frames. She showed me both expensive and moderately priced frames. She didn’t just let me settle on a pair of expensive frames the didn’t look great on me.
My experience was great and it costed me about $ 600.00.

I had a great experience at Vision Express. Keesha, who manages the front desk, was very, very helpful, and helped me get the best deal possible for both my glasses and contacts based on the insurance. She also offered a lot of good information on the best ways to take advantage of vision insurance plans.
The doctor who saw me was fast, well-​informed, effective, and very personable. He got my prescription very accurately and quickly.

I couldn’t BE more mad! Macy’s Vision Express actually deserves –10 stars.
I scheduled an appointment through ZocDoc with Dr. Lucy Cederholm at Macy’s Vision Express. According to my health insurance coverage as well as ZocDoc, Macy’s Vision Express did and still does take my insurance. I showed up on time and the receptionist flat out denied my perfectly valid insurance card. She said they do not take my insurance, and she refused to look into the matter. She barely even looked me in the eye the entire time. She was a flat out unhelpful, rude, bitch.
I left without an eye exam, a contact lens prescription, or eye glasses which I needed badly as mine are from 2009.
Go somewhere else. Go somewhere where they actually care to service their customers.

I came here b/​c I read the reviews and had a groupon.
The first day I went I was happy with my experience. I had my contacts on, and Eileen was very nice, she gave me a new case and solution to take my contacts out while I waited for the doctor.
I was seen my a woman (with a light accent) and then basically told my vision has gone to crap and I need really strong glasses. (This I already knew from countless headaches and squinting)
Eileen help me pick out a frame … I liked the cheap ones but somehow the fendi and prada just looked «soooo amazing «on me (they are sales people after all). Anyway I ended up getting a very expensive pair, needed thin glasses, anti glare, the whole nine. Which by then the total was like over 600. I was like WTH. imagine I didn’t have that groupon. So even though I had the groupon I still feel like I was being robbed.
The glasses were done super quick and when I went to pick them up, Eileen wasn’t there. But the doctor who saw me was. She quickly gave me my glasses and I said I had my contacts on. She said there wasn’t any solution for them, to just go home and try them and if i wasn’t happy to come back. Handed me my expensive glasses in a stupid Macy’s case. I asked her if they had the case from the brand of glasses I got and she said No and walked away. So here I am with a pair of 600 dollar glasses in a crappy macys case. Overall the place is ok and if you are lucky enough to get someone who likes their job and is willing to help you, then you will be happy with the SVC. I left and was really bothered by the svc and even my boyfriend (with out me saying a word) said «gee that lady was a b*tch. i got that vibe right away.»

Went to get tested today and check out some frames. Met with Patrice, she was awesome and helped me every step of the way. Very professional, knowledgeable, and patient.
Picking it up tomorrow. Can’t wait to try them on.

I found out about this place after purchasing a Groupon offer which consisted of an eye exam + $ 210 towards a new pair of eyeglasses (or sunglasses). I was recently dropped from my parent’s eye medical coverage and was in need of a good eye exam and glasses at an affordable price, I’m so happy I chose this place. What is there not to like about this place? The staff is EXTREMELY helpful, kind and most of all patient. During my appointment, I was the last person for the day and the doctor took her time examining my eyes and going above and beyond to help me with any problems I was having. It took me forever to find the perfect pair of eye wear, but the young lady who assisted me, Patrice, was so helpful and patient. They have a good selection of both high end brands and very affordable eye wear, so I would say it is suitable to everyone. Patrice also advised me that they have coupons often in the newspapers as well as on their site, if anyone is looking; In addition, they have occasional trunk shows for designer brands. The best part of this all, I saved about 40% off a pair of anti-​glare Prada eyeglasses (frame+lens) AND I was able to purchase them with my Macy’s card… can you say #winning?

I’ve not had a good experience with eye doctors since I’ve arrived in NYC (7 years ago). I’ve always felt a bit caught in a mixed place because it’s been cheaper to get an eye exam by a local doctor and then purchase contact lenses from one of those online vendors. The eye doctors seem to hate that because they lose money if they don’t move their products (i.e., eye glasses, lenses), however their prices were not competitive. That’s what made getting the exam at Macy’s Vision Center awesome. The cost is actually competitive with the online vendors and thus alleviated my guilt. Plus, the optometrist was awesome; quick, thorough and kind. The service here is amazing. Keesha was very nice and made my time at Macy’s Vision Center quick and easy which was very much needed, as I was heading to work. They totally earned all 5 stars and I will be back.

Awesome service and oh so cheap! You cannot go wrong with the downtown Brooklyn Macy’s — it’s an old-​school New York gem.

And co-​incidentally she happened to pass right across me and joined me at the same bar, sitting right next to me !!
And that’s when I realized, she was some 20-​years-​older-​than-​me lady! :P

But, hey, I agree, I had been missing HD version of «real life» so far!
Whatever, being in New York area, you will be daunted by this dry eye problem. I have some light numbers in negatives.
Now, I got this LivingSocial deal for Macys in Brooklyn.
And I chose this because there had been lot of ugly noise about Macy’s in NYC. (Yeah, I know that’s obvious. In NYC, most shops don’t have time to help you for regular shopping. They are good only for tourists)
But, not here.
I was visiting this shop long way from Stamford, CT. (2 and half hours journey?)
Why?
I do have some fashion photography bcg, so I know: NYC is «the place» to get new cool trends. Not saying Connecticut is too old fashion or anything like that: P (but it is definitely so costly!). So I decided to travel to NYC. And I got this nice LS deal. (it’s Living social !!) And yeah, I avoided 33^rd street Macy’s vision express !

I took longer than usual to decide between few glasses and they advised which frame would perfectly suit my face and how :)
I picked up Dolce & Gabbana, little wide frame !
Many of my young friends liked them ! Esp the nerdy looks it gives with un-​shaved face :) (little senior folks didn’t like them ! :P)
The Optom. lady was nice too !
And their price is not doubled up, like other so called deals based NYC shops.

The options they have, are pretty restricted. Even more restricted with shades.
Yeah, will come again when they have some more fresh new stock coming :)

I purchased the amazon-​deal for the eye exam plus credit for glasses. I am happy with the service that I received — everybody including the doctor was super nice BUT my prescription was wrong. When I went home with my new glasses I realized that it was a bit off and compared to my old prescription.
Luckily I called and they said they would do a new exam or just use my previous prescription to fill the lenses. I opted for the latter — don’t want to get another wrong prescription! That being said, they are super nice! The male doctor looks like he stepped out of an 80s sitcom. Super friendly.

Walked right in on a Saturday for an eye exam so I could order my Warby Parkers online. I didn’t have to wait any time for an exam, and wasn’t hassledt o purchase glasses from the shop. An eye exam is only $ 50, too, which is cheaper than the Lenscrafters, Cohen’s optical, etc., in the neighborhood. The optometrist also gave me some good advice and warned me about how I was treating my eyes; the exam was not just a rubber stamp. I’l pleased!

I used to work in a mall in Florida and have fond fond memories of kickin’ it with the fellow department store employees. When work was slow (and it always was because it was a Sears) we’d chew the fat with the watch repair and the vision department guys.
Coming here reminds me of those good olé days. Keesha has a great sense of humor and makes the typically-​annoying process of filling out forms, walking around blind waiting to get your eyes poked at and frantically wondering if you really could see better with option 2 instead of option 1 as great as it can be. I’ve had two different eye doctors but they were both sweet and helpful. I’m out in 30 minutes every time. AMEN.

Eye care places are always hit or miss. Macy’s Vision Express Brooklyn was bulls-​eye. I had recently switched insurances and my new one no longer covers vision so I went hunting for some deals. I found a living social deal for a free eye exam and $ 200 off any pair of frames. I have terrible vision and need pretty much the most expensive lenses you can get.
I made my appointment for Saturday @ noon. The Macy’s is close to many subway stops in Downtown Brooklyn so it was easy to get to. I got in, spent maybe 45 seconds filling out some paper work, then was immediately brought back with the optometrist, Dr. Cedarholm I believe. She did a very quick and efficient consultation and updated my prescription. I also wanted to add a contact lens evaluation which they added on no problem.
Then it was time to pick out the frames. They have a decent selection here and Keisha, the assistant working there helped me pick out the best frames for my face. She actually spent time going through each frame with me and saying why this one fit or why this other one didn’t look good. She definitely made me feel comfortable because anyone picking out frames knows that this is a daunting task.
Usually when I pay for a pair of glasses, it is around $ 500 to $ 600 (frames, anti-​reflective lenses, thinner lenses, etc.). Not to mention a $ 90 contact lens evaluation plus the initial eye exam (around $ 50). All in all I usually leave an eye doctor feeling lucky if I spend under $ 700.
With the living social deal however, I ended up dropping only around $ 350 plus a contact lens evaluation ($ 90). I got very nice frames (Armani Exchange) with all the bells and whistles (anti-​reflective lenses, thin lenses).
All in all, a good experience here. I would definitely go back.
